  1. It's called closing the books at the end of the fiscal year. No business carries unpaid account balances into the new fiscal year. It is all written off as a loss on income taxes, federal and state.
  2. Will there be a way to opt out if we are never going to cash out, just buy Ls from time to time? Most residents don't need this "feature" and if it is true that L purchases are not made via Tilia then why in the world do we need a Tilia account just to purchase Ls? Seriously, this should be an opt in deal, not shoved down the throats of people who are never going to use Tilia to cash out.
  3. It is. There is nothing anyone can do. LL won't get involved in resident to resident disputes unless it is something LL can be criminally and/or legally held liable for. My advice would be to give him time to cool off and then try again making sure you don't use any terms or phrases that can be misconstrued. He has a very short fuse.
  4. And I would promptly plow it all right back into the SL economy by purchasing things I need for builds I have planned. Kind of an odd coincidence you posted this today because earlier this morning I was daydreaming about being able to afford to purchase 10k Ls once a week for two or three months, for those builds I want to do.
  5. VooDoo has been that way for many years. It's nothing new. People need to read the fine print in the manuals.
  6. That is just how Monkey is. He has a history of bad CS, to put it mildly. He ranks right up there with the JLU and RedZone.
  7. Oh jeez. I thought the dead baby jokes died out in the 70s.
  8. You are not the first and I doubt you will be the last.
  9. The ones that did were bought out/forced out of business by the ones that don't.
  10. Then we can sign up for Tilia at that point. No need to do so beforehand.
  11. People keep saying that we are using Tilia every time we buy Ls. According to this (that was not originally posted by Digit Gears) that is not true. So even those of us who have not, do not and never will cash out are being forced to agree to a contract for a service that isn't even used in the purchasing Ls process. A service we have no need of and do not want simply because LL doesn't want to have to do it the right way and have only those who want to be able to cash out agree to the Talia terms. They prefer to sucker punch, as always.
  12. When Equifax got hacked here the first time that millions of people worldwide were affected, Equifax hired Epiq Systems. I worked in the Epiq call center during that. I quit before it was over because Equifax was using the hack to line their pockets. Sure you got the service for free... for one year only. After that you had to pay for it and the offer was through a subsidary company. On top of that, we couldn't actually help the people calling in and they wanted us to lie. That last bit is the topper that made me quit.
  13. Cheap fish.... now why does that seem so appropriate?
  14. They'd be squeezing blood from a turnip. Mine is blank. I have no credit and don't have any plans on spending what few years I have left of this life paying off credit.
  15. /me throws a grain of sand at you "Take that you... you... you auto refresher you!"
  16. I was mostly absent that year so I never saw it.
  17. Anyone remember that bombshell I was talking about not too long ago? Yeah. Bombshell number 1 just dropped and it's only the beginning. To answer the OP's question, unless a miracle happens and I start selling stuff like hotcakes (when I finally get it done) I won't be cashing out at all so it shouldn't affect me. Even if I did make enough to cash out I likely wouldn't unless I was desperate for cash in RL. I'd prefer to put it back into creating and be able to rent a bit of land to build on. Even if I were desperate enough to cash out, it would take too long in an emergency type situation so unlikely to happen anyway.
  18. Sounds right but don't get me to lying. I haven't been there in probably over 10 years.
  19. I think you're on the right track now. KISS Keep It Short & Simple... quick and easy. Since LL is capable of sending gridwide messages (via local chat and region notices), they could utilize those methods to ask for volunteers and provide a link to the viewer download. Or rather to the page the download link is on and where any pertinent information would be posted. Such as anything specific to watch for, cautions about things they know are wonky but don't interfere with testing, the steps they need to take (if any). Streamline the process and give it a little "professional polish" and they may find themselves with more volunteers than they need, just like back in the day when lots of people used to complain they couldn't get into the test grid because it was full! ok So the test grid doesn't have a set capacity but it sure sounded good! lol People used to complain about not being able to get on to <insert name of test grid that momentarily escapes me> for a number of reasons. That hasn't improved that I can see. I mean, I don't see people complaining about not being able to access nearly as much as I used to but that is an area that still needs improvement. I haven't bothered to try in several years now because I just can't be arsed to jump through hoops in order to do so. Not when I can set up a test grid on my own pc. Of course, when it comes to scripts it doesn't work so well but for pretty much everything else it works excellently. So... what's the incentive to volunteer to be a lab rat? Besides the feel goods that comes from helping and the satisfaction of knowing you had a part in bringing a new bug feature to the grid. Something a bit more tangible.
  20. After so many years of being an LL guinea pig, most people aren't interested in volunteering to be a lab rat. Can't say I blame them.
