Real Life Health = Second Life Health
Selene Gregoire replied to Alyha's topic in General Discussion Forum
I have two flowerbeds. One with roses, azaleas, a Japanese maple, bachelor buttons, violas, hydrangea, and a rhododendron. The other one is overflowing with wildflowers. -

Not quite. It affects those who care about you. RL family and friends. Sometimes even the obvious needs to be pointed out. -
Nothing for Tinies at the SL16B Shopping Event
Selene Gregoire replied to Garnet Psaltery's topic in General Discussion Forum
This is why I stopped going to events years ago. The big brands have already been well established and are well known. They don't need the advertisement. It's the smaller, lesser known businesses that should be showcased. -
What would YOU do if you were Linden Lab?

The cost of living in a given area is beside the point I was making. -
That is my point. Most people aren't going to go looking for something they don't even know exists.

I'm not ignorant. The cost of living in Oregon isn't any lower than California. It may well be higher in some cases. Mostly because of all the Californians moving to Oregon years ago. -

I live in Oregon. In a mobile home park. If I can't make enough to keep my mobile home and pay the lot rent, I won't even have a car left to live in. Wages are one of the myriad of reasons I moved away from the South. -

I'm not seeing anything under $122,000US. Must be nice to be able to earn that high of a salary/wage. And yes, to me, that is high. Extremely high. There was a time when I would have done almost anything to be able to earn $50k per year. These days I'm lucky if I can earn $25k per year. So yes, to me, they are living "high on the hog". I'm sure I am not alone in that. https://www.salary.com/research/salary/benchmark/bookkeeper-salary -
Huh. Didn't know that existed. I wonder how new people are supposed to know to look for it. How does one go from here https://secondlife.com/ to there? I don't see any obvious links. I think one of the issues with the site is the navigation. It's not very intuitive.

With the exception of the Goth part (I'm just not) that's how it is for me. I so rarely get to buy anything any more so I have to make do with group gifts. Which brings us to the quality of said group gifts. Although I am very happy to see many creators moving away from putting up their low quality items as gifts and offering better quality, too many of them still put out things that just are not worth bothering with when you can't modify them to fit properly. So my choices are severely limited. It's just as bad for the guys, if not worse.

@greek Wingtips I'm sorry, but, we just need to accept that companies really do not care if they retain customers that are disabled and/or on fixed or low incomes. They're too deep into our pockets to care. They would much rather have our money in their pockets than for us to have food on our tables, clothes on our backs, rooves over our heads and quality education for our children. They want the same things for themselves except they must have the million dollar homes and cars, the thousand dollar suits, caviar, etc. It would never do for them to have to make do, like the rest of us. -
This should stand out in more than just a court room. It's going to take a hell of a lot more than respect to change attitudes about clothing. It's going to take people not saying things like they wore something to intentionally attract the kind of attention they don't really want or actually doing that. When every human out there stops using their clothing to attract what ends up being undesirable attention (more often than not), then the victims might stand a chance of never being a victim in the first place.

That is a load of crap. What I wear is not implied consent. I'm so angry right now I see white hot. If you've never been a victim of rape you need to shut the ***** up and sit the ***** down. You do not know wtf you are talking about. If you have been a victim of rape you need to get professional help because you have not dealt with it. That is all I'm going to say. None of you is worth getting banned over.

That is a refreshing change. lol I'm glad you got it sorted out. Это освежающее изменение. LOL Я рад, что вы разобрались.
