  1. People are looking for a quick summary of what they need to know in your profile, so you shouldn't need a lot of characters. I'd suggest going for something short and to the point about who you are and what you do in Second Life. Then if you want to write a longer piece on your experiences, set that up as notecards (splitting into chapter notecards makes it easier to read if it's a long thing). You could even make a nice book object to hand out the notecards.
  2. You need to look at every word in the listing, not just the title. It's often due to a random word. These sometimes make sense, but often they really don't. The first thing is to look for stuff that could be brand names, adult-rated terms (including the letters inside a word possibly spelling something out) and stuff like that. It usually won't let you post a new listing with a banned word, so you can also try deleting bits and tracking down which word did it. You might also be able to reply to the removal email to ask which word, though mine was always stopped at the earlier point of trying to post the listing. An example from the past, I couldn't list a product because it wouldn't allow AOs. An AO was fine, but adding the s made it a banned word. I still don't know what word they thought it might be, but I reworked the description to avoid it.
  3. There's nothing lost in letting people redeliver copy items. It also means you don't have to be around to handle it.
  4. Do you want general emotional support or do you want solutions to the problem of getting your group noticed in Second Life? I interpreted it as you wanting help getting your group noticed, so I responded to that. If it's general emotional support you want, I am not the person for that and will leave the conversation. Others are better suited to that role. But if you do want ideas for what can be done to help promote your group in Second Life, I can offer some suggestions, as can others.
  5. You're likely to get more results from a call for action (this is where you can find out about ALS, this is what we do, this is what you can do to help) rather than what you've said (why are you helping those other people). There's a lot of potential help to go around, but I hadn't heard anything about your group in SL until this post. You're assuming that everyone knows exactly what you mean and then choosing to ignore it, but most people just aren't going to know unless they're told.
  6. I'm wavering between whether someone came up with "tosser" and just didn't know the slang or it was a British person having a laugh because they knew most other people wouldn't know. I will say the houses probably aren't breaking the adult content rules for what's allowed in public in a moderate region.
  7. You've just told me that if you could name no mod items, you'd put them all in the same folder with no folder structure. That means you're saying that adding this feature will encourage you to have a flatter inventory that's more likely to cause technical issues. You just might want to try a different line of argument when requesting that feature. Many things that might annoy you about the inventory and permissions system aren't really the root cause of this particular issue. This is more about how the system defaults to a structure that eventually causes issues. People often get caught because they didn't move anything from the default locations. The system could be changed to make this less of a problem, but for how it works now, you need to be moving things into folders.
  8. The point of what they're doing is to solve a technical issue, rather than to make it easier for people to find things. That's why they're warning people, so people can sort their inventories in a way that works for them, and then not need any automatic fix. I expect it will be doing what happened to you: taking the objects and stuffing them in a bunch of new folders, to stop the inventory being too flat. If you've spent a lot of time reorganising things in many folders, subfolders and even more folders, you should be fine. The main thing is to make sure none of your folders have too many objects on one level. They want our inventories to look more like a tree, and less like a millipede.
  9. The website location hasn't changed since last year's email, so you can see the countdown and who they're raising funds for this year. It'll update with more stuff as it gets near. There's also the inworld group "Second Pride" and a discord. They run events through the year on the regions, as well as the main pride event. It's why it didn't immediately register that you'd gotten last year's email, because the basics are true every year.
  10. The 512 a friend got has a nice level of privacy. The closest house has a little raised area with trees between and the others are either over the road or the other side of the water. Plus it's a corner water spot, so water on two sides. I need to get a little boat so I can sail there from my house.
  11. I had a quick spy on Drama LLama to see if the popcorn stand dream would be a reality. Currently being built (Abnor is throwing bits of road around), so hard to say. My three pending requests are popcorn, cat cafe and some sort of eldritch creature rising from the depths threatening to devour us all. Still hopeful about the popcorn though.
  12. Stop trying to log in. Open the ticket following the steps Quartz Mole gave you. The sooner you do this the sooner the person who phished your account can be locked out of it (which will stop them taking money or anything else). Do the ticket now. Right now. No more logging in, no more waiting. File that ticket. Once the ticket is filed, read up on computer and account security. You need to check your system for malware (the free version of Malwarebytes is a good start) and lock down the security and change passwords on all your other accounts. Make sure each one has a different password. Set up two-step verification where possible. But file that ticket first.
  13. The best place is inside the building. There's food! Still some work markers on the mountain, so could be more to come. Or could just be that someone needs to clean up the markers.
  14. Given your interests, you might want to visit Raglan Shire, where the tinies and dinkies live. Most are small animals (a lot like the Animal Crossing style of avatar). Artwalk has just started, so there's a lot of art on the hedges to look at. This is the welcome center: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Raglan Shire/105/196/59 The group "Bellisseria Citizens" focuses on Linden Home stuff. I'm assuming you picked up a home from your comments, so this will help you meet your neighbours. In big events, the next up is SciFi Con, which starts on 18th May. Even if you're not huge on science fiction stuff, you might want to have a look around to see what big events can be like. That will have displays, shops and parties. The website will have the location when it opens: https://www.scificon.org/ Do pay attention to what the viewer shows you on the opening screen and the message as you're logging in. That can include links to current events and locations. There's also the destination guide: https://secondlife.com/destinations I hope you continue to have fun in Second Life!
  15. In the old chicken days, there was a chicken farm on my mainland region where they were all dead. Also all twitching constantly, creating constant collisions. That was a terrible way to make a breedable and used up silly resources. I wasn't sad to see them go. The kittycats don't really cause the same issues, though I'm not keen on pets I have to feed. My only kittycat was a free forever pet one.
  16. Bad timing as you just missed Fantasy Faire, which runs tabletop gaming events (and a lot of other things, but that's the board game stuff). I've been to some skill gaming regions on hunts and have never seen someone playing those games. But that doesn't mean the same is true everywhere or that nothing is popular. RFL has RelayStock at the weekend. Raglan Shire's Artwalk starts on Sunday. Sci Fi Con is a bigger event for RFL that starts on 18th May. If you have other interests, state them, and people can recommend events and communities. You need to see what's out there before you can come up with the plan that'll fix everything. Otherwise, you're the one falling into a nostalgia trap, by assuming that because stuff that was popular when you left is dead, everything is dead.
  17. Could just be that they're working on an upgrade for Fairstone Quarry. Maybe it's another portal. Maybe it's a really huge greenhouse full of compost.
  18. It's a copy of Fairstone Quarry from the fantasy area.
  19. I'll do the sums for both types of account. See which is cheaper. Even as a creator, cheaper uploads isn't a huge draw, as most products pay back their upload costs in a few sales. Other things might be nice perks, but not enough to want to pay more for them.
  20. It's usually the opposite problem. Something looks like a single person seat, but it's loaded with couple animations. I'm cautious about sitting on public seats as a result and will stand up again if I see couple poses. I usually sit because I'm going to be busy with something for a bit, so I don't want to have to monitor that. Keep in mind that even a fairly PG couple pose might get you in trouble if someone decides to grief you with a naked child avatar, take a picture, and then report you. Keep couple poses to places where you can control the furniture and access.
  21. It's been a year of rainbows for me. I got a cute animesh golem pet from Positive Wavelength. The one sold for relay is a rainbow crystal look. Clover has pet rainbow maggots. The capybara shop has rainbow capybaras (avatars and decor, but I got a decor one). Plus I have rainbow skins for various Teeglepets.
  22. Next up, the train space cannon! Science fiction theme confirmed.
  23. I like the full cosmic power to edit everything, but hats are the one I most often need to resize. I need them bigger than a human avatar. Editing holdable items is also a must, as I often need to remove the hold animations.
  24. This is a thing coming up with people wanting seasons. Changing the textures to snow on one region isn't a big deal. Doing it over hundreds of regions is a nightmare.
