Hi.
I accidentally came across this discussion and thought i would put in my 2 cents worth. I have had bi-polar ever since college, and went through a bunch of therapists and a few psychiatrists. There are 2 kinds of depression: situational, hits most people during different stages of their lives. Nearly everyone has experienced that. The other, more serious type is the result of chemical imbalance in the brain. I am sure you know all of this.
Finding the right medication formula is quite a task. It is not like an illness for which you take antibiotics which cures it. Nothing will cure depression. There is only one thing--to control it.
You will have to explore the possibilities in rl. But whatever it is, I strongly recommend a book by the well known psychiatrist, David Burns. The title is "Feeling Good" I have read this book from cover to cover, and also opening pages and just reading. Dr Burns has a website, http://www.feelinggood.com. I find the web site a bit like a used car salesman trying to sell you a car. Ignore that.. Just read the book. I think it was published in the 1970s, and if i am not mistaken, you can get a copy at Amazon. Amazon.com : feeling good by david burns. There is another book, Feeling Great. It i worth exploring, and no matter who you go to for therapy, there is no harm in checking this out.
I wish you good luck. People are kind here and mean well. But rl is where you should seek professional help.
