  1. Make sure you've not set yourself as a scripted agent/bot. If you got one of the new stilt homes, they've been releasing them before the map updates, so landmarks taken early might have issues after the map catches up. Try going to the region directly (type the name into the world map) and make a new landmark. If none of those apply, and you still can't get there from the world map, see if someone else can get to the region. Once you know if the issue is your account or the region, it'll be easier to get help from support.
  2. #13 lives! Today at Fantasy Faire, it'll be on sale during the Linden/Mole jail and bail. This is Fizzy, a purple fluffy critter of some sort. https://fantasyfairesl.wordpress.com/2024/04/19/the-jail-bail-of-moles-lindens-1-3-pm-slt-on-the-golden-hour/
  3. The theme didn't change. I was puzzled at first why people were saying this, but I can see on a reread of the roundup how it might confuse people. They were talking about "something spicy" for all of the year for all of Second Life. Not the birthday event. But given how it's worded in the roundup post and then the post discussing how SL20B went, wired got crossed. They don't usually announce the themes for SLB until a bit into the year (like they did this time). They also aren't going to pick an adult theme when most of the event is general. So nothing really looks different this year. There are going to be adult regions at the birthday, but they did that last year. Could be they'll discuss the "something spicy" plans at the talks.
  4. Being banned from a place is not the end. It actually saves you time, because it's clear they never wanted you around anyway. Find another place and go there instead. If you did something that would warrant being banned, learn from it and avoid that. It is not a game, so don't try to min/max your stats, so to speak. Follow the advice given here. Join groups related to your interests. Visit events. Take it slow when you're in a new space and meeting new people. Remember that lots of people have other stuff going on, so they might need to go afk, spend time building/using graphics programs, and other stuff that isn't always social.
  5. The region names haven't updated to the ones without SSP on the map, but they are there and you can get to them. Look for the region name with SSP in front on the map and teleport in from there. (So yes, new release for stilts of the ones along the log coast.)
  6. I didn't see the pictures, but anyone who did says the avatars in the pictures look generic. Which means people aren't going to look at them and think it's you. Even if someone did think it was you, that's just an avatar that looks like yours, which is what you'd say. The root problem seems to be that your ex is involving you in his drama. He went after people, so they're attacking him back. Ask him to stop telling you about it. Block anyone involved who contacts you. Don't comment on the pictures or anything like that (if you can delete any public replies you might have made, do that). It's his problem, so leave it as his problem.
  7. I play it safe with my cannabis PlantPets, but there's no reason to think that means needing adult land. Sex beds are fine on moderate, as long as it's not in public. Sex beds could be boxed up and sold on moderate land, as long as there are no pictures of it in use. So it isn't going to be harsher than that for cannabis. My plants aren't in the public area. I only sell the cannabis seeds at my moderate shop (not the general one). There are no pictures of people using cannabis in any way. It's just plant pictures. That means whether it's counted as adult or not, it doesn't matter, because that follows the rules anyway. (Noting what the rules actually state is that stuff that "depicts illicit drug use" is adult, but it's unclear from that if the plant counts or where it has to be illegal to count.) The marketplace has different rules. They're often stricter, because it's a public website. If I sold seeds there, I'd label them as adult.
  8. Four years later... but yes, owners of regions make their own rules about what they allow, which are often harsher than the actual rules. Recent events mean adult regions are even more sensitive about it at the moment (in a ban all cute stuff way). Some of this will settle out in time. Some places will keep the harsher rules. Either way, if they ban you, that place isn't one you'd want to be in anyway.
  9. I applied. One of my new stories is about elements, so it was an obvious one to turn into an exhibit. Also means the words are done, so I can focus more time on making the scene. For those looking at the section about previous builds, what they want is some idea of whether you can build stuff. It's not about having an active Flickr account. I linked to a picture someone else took of a previous creative build. I've never had a Flickr account and that's not been held against me.
  10. There are several locations that fit the clue for #1. One of these is within sight of #2. So I guess that's what happened here. Keep looking for other places like the one you first searched and you will find #1.
  11. It looks like the prize platforms for #3 and #4 have been muddled for the Swaginator. If you go to where the clues say, you find the other one. The connected gifts also suggest that it wasn't supposed to be that way around (you get gifts for each area at the other area). We've been giving people the other clue they need, but I don't know if someone can pop in and swap them.
  12. Only the top tier prize is a boopie.
  13. I survived the race! The crab is basically the same crab as the other one. It's no copy, no mod and has a different name. A bit more shine added (which you could add to the flower one, as it's mod). No number or box. So, probably not going to worry most people, as you'll have the copy/mod/numbered/boxed version from the flower hunt.
  14. In the transcript of Abnor's opening speech, was this line: "And this Wednesday will be the Crab Crawl Run Race, where you can get your own special limited edition Crab Boopie!" I hope it's just a different path to the same boopie. There's limited (you need to take part at some point during the month) and limited (you must be there at noon on this day). It's nice if getting them is open to people regardless of timezones and work schedules. Anyway, #5 and #13 are unaccounted for right now.
  15. My marketplace sales have been going on mostly as usual. All the items are showing in the store as they should. It's busy season inworld, so I've not been tracking search much, but I do see some signs that it has shifted a bit. Some of my listings with longer titles have gone back up in search (compared to the listings where I rewrote them to have shorter titles). Short titles still win the day, but the difference doesn't seem as extreme.
  16. I'd be surprised if it stays. The parcels and layout would need to be cleared and most events wouldn't need all the regions. Which would mean event regions sitting there unused rather than low impact ocean homesteads. But it does show that they can swap in some extras for bigger events.
  17. Boopie alarm time again! According to the event book for the upcoming anniversary, you can win a special boopie for taking part in the flower hunt. It's for 650+ flowers, so I assume they're random spawns like the snowflakes. Could this be boopie #5 for the 5th year? The event is April 2nd to April 30th at the fairgrounds (though the island has been expanded to four regions for this).
  18. There are some steps missing here, so it'd help to know exactly what you tried to do. Did you delete the folder with the error in the viewer? How did you recreate the new folder? Did you try editing the listing in an external browser? Did you try bringing up the edit window and simply clicking update again? Did you check that the listing was set to active on the edit page?
  19. People aren't going to follow a video link unless they trust you, so it's not a good way to get a response. People are more likely to reply to saying hello or asking a question. I'm not sure what the problem was with someone making a joke that referenced other media, unless the group has a rule that it's Pokemon only. I guess they were insulting or something. Which happens. About the only vaguely similar experience I had was someone trying to turn a statement I made into an adult joke on a general rated group. They'd assumed they were in a sex group, so somehow, somewhere, me buying a sky whale had to be about sex. They also knew nothing about whales. So the joke made no sense and was funny to nobody. But I guess they learnt something about whales that day when they tried to explain the joke and people had to gently explain that it didn't work that way.
  20. This group has come up in the citizens chat. As far as I'm aware, it's open to anyone who plays the passport game. Once they have a passport, they contact an admin and get the invite. It's a players group, not an admin group. I say this as someone who doesn't play the game as I wasn't allowed to have a passport when it started, so I don't have warm fuzzies for the system. I just don't think most of the players are anything more than players. I know you want everyone to be part of previous issues, but I know I'm not, so that makes me doubt that everyone else was either. Nobody answered my question, so my answer is that I made gifts and handed them out at my Linden Home. My answer to why I think the hamsters were invited to help run this event is that they decided to book the fairgrounds and run regular events over several years. I don't have answers for every name, but it's clear that some are there because they did stuff and got noticed. Now, this doesn't mean that open applications are a bad idea. It can bring in new people and ideas. But you don't need everyone to be bad to ask for that. Everyone can be doing a decent job and there'd still be benefits in bringing in some new people.
  21. I was asked to make a gift. I thought about saying more, but it'd be twisted, so I'll throw it back at the community instead. Why do you think I was asked?
  22. You can see it being discussed on social media. Inworld, people aren't being as extreme in public discussions, but rules are changing and people are being removed from groups and banned from places. In response, some people have changed avatars to avoid harassment. Some related events will end up not happening or being downsized. There's always been some tendency this way (remember the old height detectors that'd autoban short avatars). It's just this is being used as an excuse to escalate it.
  23. I'd rather my neighbours don't fill the region 24/7. This usually only happens if it's a club full of bots. Regular homes and shops aren't usually an issue.
  24. I can't know what the internal investigation will find, but I have been watching community reactions. This makes me very cautious when they say the rules will be changed based on those community reactions. When all this started, it resulted in a backlash against PG content. Not just the more obvious of banning child avatars from locations that aren't adult, but going after anything cute, colourful, on general land, or not outwardly sexual. That means no tinies or other cute avatars. No adult avatars who are shorter, have smaller breasts, wear bright colours, wear covering clothing, and so on. No shops that don't have an adult product line. No content based on anything whimsical or that might be marketed to children (for example, Linden bears). The backlash against child avatars in particular will make some claims hard to investigate, because child avatars were the targets. It's not an environment where someone with a child avatar could give evidence about people breaking the rules, because they'll be attacked and won't be supported. It's also encouraging people to seek out other identities someone might have, to see if that has adult content. But the whole point of separate identities is often to separate things. It's very firing the school teacher for having an erotica penname. There are already groups where I think I'm going to need to leave, because the rule changes will mean I'm only going to get banned if I go to their events anyway. I've been sticking to shops and locations where I know I'm welcome, and avoiding things like hunts that might take me to new places. This has not made anyone safer. I was never a threat.
  25. I avoid entering my shop if someone's visiting, so they don't feel crowded. But I run into people elsewhere, particularly at events like Fantasy Faire where people tend to walk around. Generally they mention things like favourite items, the colours they like, items from past hunts that aren't for sale yet, the stories in the story hunts, and stuff like that. Sometimes they ask me how the fungal invasion is going.
