Lack of Customer Service by Linden Lab/
Cinnamon Mistwood replied to belindacarson's topic in General Discussion Forum
My issues can wait while others enjoy time with their families for the holidays and deal with some extreme weather in the US. I'm not sure what issue you need live support for, but you sound frustrated. I hope it gets resolved faster than it takes live support to get back from their vacations. From what I've read others frustrated with the closures, as well. -
Apparently, you are! I had a log cabin that I fully decorated last year, but I just haven't been in the mood this year. I tossed out a tree, but that's it. I spent way too much time decorating for Halloween to still have motivation for winter. I love your festive decorations!

I do like discussion groups and science lectures a great deal, but unfortunately they don't really seem like a community. I just show up once or twice a month and join in. I'm not even sure what a community of science lovers would look like. I see a few of the same people when I show up, but when it's over we all leave for our other interests. That is my problem with any community. My interests are so varied I have 20 friend groups. One for each interest and they don't crossover.

I am loving the new houseboat models
Cinnamon Mistwood replied to Teresa Firelight's topic in Linden Homes
The lighted Christmas boat parade is really fun to watch! I have seen a few sleek houseboats in RL, but you're right, most are shabby and weathered. I have hopped around a bit recently, but my perfect houseboat location is eluding me. -

Portraits of Friendship
Cinnamon Mistwood replied to Scylla Rhiadra's topic in Art, Music and Photography
Which is exactly what I was after. A contrast. We both took photos while sitting on a couch. We both chose our own lighting and EEP. We picked different times in the animations to actually snap the photos. Anyone looking at the differences would get a different feel for what they think was going on and form their opinions on what they see in them. My view was different than yours, but I still wanted 2 very different photos. We are very different people from very different places and I captured it exactly how I wanted. I wish more people would take pictures of the same things, but from their own perspectives I find it fascinating. Years ago there was a photo thread with a landmark to a tree stump on a hill. The tree stump had some animations in it. People would go and take photos there and post the results. Same spot, but nothing else was the same. I'm not quite motivated enough to search for it, but it was a fun thread. -

Maddy - need I say more? She's quite tossable though. Seeker and David in back Yes, she set the place on fire as she left. Orwar did not seem to mind. -

Just Ignore and let this one die
Cinnamon Mistwood replied to Maureen Boccaccio's topic in Make Friends
I don't know who all is going, but I will be there as long as I can, and I plan on making it as awkward as possible by asking every single person who shows up to dance with me. No pressure. I can take rejection and all (ðŸ˜), but I will be asking. -
I think the issue for me is knowing we each have a way we live our Second Life. I may decide that I don't like something, and I don't want to see it, hear it, read it, or have it around me. There is nothing wrong with having personal standards and boundaries and there are tools for me to customize and control my experience. I think the problem is that some want to control what others see, hear, read, or have around. I don't want someone else deciding what I am allowed to experience. There is an old meme that I occasionally see that says something like "Something is against my beliefs, so I can't do it." Fine. That is very different than "Something is against my beliefs, so you can't do it." I cancel things from my life all the time but would never make that decision for someone else.

As far as SL is concerned, being intolerant makes your world very small. There are as many different personalities and opinions as there are avatars. Perhaps I'm just being passive in allowing other people to think and act in any way they want without challenging much of it, but even I have some rules about behavior. I will give this thread some thought today and revisit later.

When your partner logs in to SL, who you haven't seen inworld since April, and he has a new face. He took me out to do my very favorite SL activity - dancing to the blues. I might have been so excited to see him in person that I accidentally derendered the entire building.

I'm guessing you live in a US timezone? I live in the same time as the SL clock which is handy. Have you joined some of the sailing clubs? Many of them have regular group events where you can meet others.

Makers of newer, higher quality flexi hair?
Cinnamon Mistwood replied to Jaenie Crystal's topic in Your Avatar
I love some movement in hair. I have several Analog Dog styles that mix mesh and flexi. I'll be checking out the other suggestions here. Thanks everyone!
