Hi Amy, Have you scrolled through the T&C? You can't accept until you've *ahem* read them. -
Just to add to the displayname debate
Eloise Baily replied to Sassy Romano's topic in General Discussion Forum
I'm using V3 right now so I can help new people, and whenever display names are used, the real avatar name is used in IM or group chat...or even for just a gesture. I'm sure it'll be ok. -
Awww dammit! I'm gonna have to post my favourite hippy vid on here now... Looooove this song

Defining Griefing In The Forums
Eloise Baily replied to Perrie Juran's topic in General Discussion Forum
This thread isn't griefing, but I see it as a good dose of trolling. It seems to me that at least some of the posters here take great delight in picking on the deficiencies of others and OH!....the lulz! They get their super-intellectual humour kick that way I have no doubt, but they are not empathetic enough to see the effect that has on others. They claim to care about SL yet drive any dissenting voice screaming from the only official forums while using all the others as well, just to yah boo at anyone and everyone. How does that help concurrency? I'm sure most of the people reading this where "the cap fits" will read through this thread again and see fun and merriment. I see the same few people rounding on anyone who disagrees and sneering down their noses at them. I rarely post but read daily, and I do find it rude here. I'm not a whiner, I'm not stupid and I don't need a tissue for my issue thanks. I'm just put off by an atmosphere of disdain and one-upmanship, as I'm sure are many others. You may not like my opinion, but then, I may not like yours. I voice mine rarely these days. -
Answers Forum is a Gold Mine!
Eloise Baily replied to Venus Petrov's topic in General Discussion Forum
Well my last communications with Void involved him/her being unhappy with me and Carole playing with Franglais, which meant posts getting removed and a fun game turning ugly. That said, if you're flouncing Void, I'll take all your scripted stuff as it's probably very well made. -
Blood Lines Designer Confesses
Eloise Baily replied to Perrie Juran's topic in General Discussion Forum
It all boils down to...if you accept the bite you appear on an unregulated, external website. If you wear a garlic necklace you don't get bitten but you appear on an external, unregulated website...or you don't get bitten at all, but if you are new, how are you to know about this? I dislike Bloodlines for this reason alone. Even the players don't seem to be aware of the level of information they are passing to influences ouytside of SL and those who accidentally fall in (like by wearing a garlic necklace) are either unaware of their plight or find it a PITA to get out of. Personally, these days, if I were to get a bite from the blue, I'd be inclined to AR it more than anything. -
This is a GOOD thing.

One of my items became unavailable when LL decided it was showing the wrong maturity rating. Do they match your land and do your ads match the products? I'm guessing of course, but you did ask for anything.

This is my gorgeous rideable horse from Realistek. He's called Demo, after the one in the shop they let me borrow before I bought him. -

'Occupy' SL / Boycott all merchants
Eloise Baily replied to NYMWASOB Koga's topic in General Discussion Forum
Sorry Ian I don't agree. If the protesters had been allowed to campaign outside of the stock exchange as they wanted then there wouldn't be an issue, but it seems there is too much power within those particular walls. Also, St. Paul's charges £14.50 to get in/. WWJS? Edited: not a good idea to type round a particularly plump cat. -

Tristizia Demonista wrote: Ahh. Well, V2 actually improved a bit in all those years. Just sayin I actually deleted a "jus sayin" from another post so's I didn't make myself misunderstood. I get ya though My point proves your point though. Before V2 I was happy to try anything new, but after the disaster that was V2 pt.1, I was not prepared to risk the damage, and LL have done very little to let me know about all the positive changes. I'll download it when I feel safe that it won't kill my V1 and any of the attachments within. I'll only accept it from LL that that is the case. I think after 3 years of paying that's not too much to ask.

When V2 first came out it wiped the folder for some people. They lost everything.
-
I'm sad to say, but I have never even tried an official viewer since V2 came out and I'm scared to in case it wipes my history out or something. I can't help new people as much as I'd like because I cling to V1. I really really like V1 and V2 was just awful for me. I need a very, very good reason to even dare to download this onto my PC with nearly 3 years of history to lose.

Ack! You bother me! I block you!!
Eloise Baily replied to Venus Petrov's topic in General Discussion Forum
An inner troll is only an outer troll in negative as far as I can see. Outer trolls should get the same disdain as behind the scenes ones surely? Both types discourage more than they encourage. My brain just doesn't get winding people up for the "shigglez". That's just me though, so I go with both. They come with the internet, sadly. Since my bad timing to posting to this thread has made me feel weirdly guilty for absolutely nowt, I'd like to make a point. A hostile environment can only be created if you let it. If an idiot strikes, ignore them. I read so often on these forums how you personally cannot get hurt, how you can mute, ban, ignore. How griefers are dissuaded best by ignoring them completely. All sound advice if you ask me. So apply the same to the forums. We all know that someone will have it on email anyway. It's an annoyance, but no good reason for a hostile environment at all IMO. The forums are cool without that side to them if you ask me. -

LL Ignoring valid abuse reports???
Eloise Baily replied to Isaiah Karsin's topic in General Discussion Forum
Isaiah, you may not respond, but I hope you are still reading. If the only contact you have left with them is through random IMs then mute them too, the moment you get it. Friends will understand if you say to them. "I'm not interested. SERIOUSLY man, once more and I'm gonna have to mute you for my own peace of mind". Those who don't understand are not your friends. They are people who like the excitement of it all. It's a soap opera to them. As for the disclosing of your alt. I wish I could advise you on that. I would ask your friends to respect your reasons for having one. If your alt moves in the same circles as your main socially, that might be harder to do. -
