  1. @ Marigold. I agree, it's fun getting to know people. It's also fun rollerskating to Disco Inferno in hot pink spandex....in my head. @Melita. I also love this thread. Thank you. Anyways, I haz noo list. 1. Random and considerate (I was called that today). 2. One of my colleagues nearly running me over (thank you low blood pressure for preventing my certain death from a heart attack!). 3. Gotye (again) - Heart's a Mess. I'm obsessed by this guy. Not least because he plays the xylophone and so does Patrick Moore. It's true. Ask Weebl and Bob. 4. Smiley and relaxed. 5. To never lose my optimism and to keep my cynicism for later years, when I intend to become crazy cat woman with 67 of the buggers.
  2. 1. Describe yourself in two words? slightly dippy. 2. What surprised you last? Whitney Houston 3. What is your current favorite song or album - one you are obsessing over? Gotye - Somebody that I Used to Know 4. What is your mood or feeling today? (Or for you NT types, if you prefer: What is most occupying your thoughts?) drowsy 5. What do you most hope for this year? To become regional roller disco champion and to own more spandex.
  3. Well it has to be the Ginger Nut...or the Custard Cream...or the Fox's Crinkle Crunch....or the humble Rich Tea. Ooo though! How about the Malted Milk! As for you American folks, kindly stop confusing scones with biscuits. You're wrong, wrong, wrong!
  4. I love my Trudeau Rosinante. Sailing is a bit of an art form for me having been a landlubber all my life, but it's great fun.
  5. As you say Qie, there is very little public scrutiny. Populist videos at least get the message out. Don't knock 'em.
  6. Tell my mother tell my father, I did the best I can To make them realise this is my life, I hope they understand I'm not angry I'm just saying, sometimes goodbye is a second chance. ~ Shinedown
  7. @ Kylie Brrrr I think I might just TP there having seen tomorrow's weather report. @ LoveAngel. WOW! That place is huge! You've made a really nice job of it too..
  8. Thanks kylie. Yep I think they're the same. I love your home. I can't help thinking of the Shining. Also, where did you get your coat? I'm freezing!
  9. I was ridiculously addicted to SL for a while. I'd wake up, login, go to work, login when I could, go home, login, sleep...rinse and repeat. I used to run to the loo fgs just so I could rush back, but oh my did I have fun! I had a mixture of drama, heartbreak and RL illness to make me realise how much of my life I was wasting so I logged out for 4 months and came back, still with the same avi. I realised in that time that actually, I was never going to meet the people who affected me so much, so what was the point in getting upset about it. In short, I relaxed, gave up SLex and relationships and concentrated on my friends, both SL and RL. I can still find someone to dance with if I want to and at the same time I can chat about stuffs instead of all that sweaty emoting stuff. I love my SL now. It's creative, fun, educational and non-addictive. Take the break whenever you need to. It's worth it.
  10. I'd still be a country girl. I guess there's nothing to stop areas being huddled together. In some places they are. Me, I like it all distant moocows and crickets. Horses for courses I suppose. I thought SIM owners could do that already if they wanted to?
  11. Thank you Requiem. RL is pretty hectic so I like to have a peaceful SL home. My inworld is serene. I come here to escape the hurly-burly.
  12. Awww you guys look wonderful. I wish I coulda been there. Maybe next year. Here's to H3!
  13. Thank you kind neighbour for spurring me on to decorate my land. I love it here now :) I am fighting to keep that splash of colour in lol. Show me your fave home pics. I'm not around that much but I'd love to see them.
  14. Ooooo Wildcat. Nice! 0.0 Well I have realised two things. A. I am not a natural at this and B. I like white. Here's so far...
  15. It's funny how we become our avatars isn't it? In truth, nobody is looking at anybody. You're checking our the scenery just as you would with anything online. I fluff up like a peacock when I get cammed, though I don't use showlookat. It makes me feel like I am interesting enough to be cammed and that all that hard work has paid off, even if they are thinking OMG WHAT was she thinking??1!

  17. Yep Tari, it's crowded up there alright! Sounds nice Amethyst. I like living near water. That's pretty LoveAngel. I've got a ridiculous amount of tropical stuff tucked in my inventory. I've started mucking about with my place now, so pics may arrive at some distant point, but please, don't schedule your life around the event.
  18. The 3D avatar is only available in Photoshop CS4 extended and CS5 extended I'm afraid. Earlier versions don't support it. If you have the right version, there's a very handy tutorial here: I've had a go at it, but I need more time to work it out without messing it up LOL.
  19. My `grandmother used to check they were IN in case Jack Frost nibbled your fingers off.
  20. Hi there. You can use Photoshop but you don't have to. When you use the versions CS4(extended) and above, you can create the 3D avatar to paint on, but again, you don't have to. Look for tutorials for GIMP, a free image processing program. It does nearly the same thing as photoshop. Both are complicated programs though, so some patience will be needed while you learn. There are some great free clothing templates out there to get you started. Try Chip Midnight's: http://www.annotoole.com/CMFF/ Or Robin Wood's: http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html Youtube is packed with great tutorials for GIMP. I also recommend the Mermaid diaires here: http://www.mermaiddiaries.com/2007/03/day-181-creating-clothes-with-gimp.html Good luck and have fun. That's what it's all about after all!

It's like having to press ctrl alt t all the time cause you just know those are two prims with textures on them when in actuality, they used to be a beautiful pair of magical wings. Mmmhm.
  22. Interesting Charlotte. I only discovered the serious business side of SL when I discovered the forums. When I bump into old friends who just shop, chat, breed (animals and themselves mainly), dance and enjoy each other, I'm quite envious of their ignorance/innocence. What's the meme?...cannot be unseen...

  24. Oh Maelstrom you are SUCH a grumpypants! What he meant to say was: Kick it. Kick it till it works.
