  1. I know Kobuk. I've torn it down 3 times already. This is not my forte. I won't give up though. Where's the rush?
  2. OMG a rarity! I disagree Pussycat. There! I said it! I don't agree at all that MP is bad for business in SL. I think we can sometimes underestimate our shoppers. Here's how I use MP. Think...hmmmm my plants are looking a bit 80s, let's go shopping. Open the MP while inworld. Search, find, look for inworld location. Go to inworld location. Rinse and repeat untill I find the thing that is most glittery. or.... no inworld location. check how many items check reviews give it a whirl if I like it. Why? Because I have 11 items for sale and no shop yet because 11 items is not enough and I work RL 12 hours a day. The shop will get there but I still want the buzz I get when someone buys something I made. The point is, like most people I want to see it before I buy it. Even clothes are so sculptastic and meshtabulous now that I would like a demo so I visit in case a model is wearing it. I'd never leave my land without MP.
  3. Derender is lovely but not nearly permanent enough. There's a hideous skyscraper on a tiny bit behind me, hence the short DD. Mine by the way is the house on its own at the bottom of the hill. I've stripped my land and now I've kinda carved out some teraces to match next door. Next step is deciding on the water. My land is tough to work with because it's triangular. It slopes away on 2 sides, but with a jaunty angle I can see it working for me.
  4. I'm lucky. It's nice on the water's edge all the way round really. I'm hoping if I follow the landscape we'll start a glowy, waterfally, shimmery trend.
  5. I love my Nokia N73 and I refuse to budge.
  6. My draw distance is GREATLY reduced for that pic
  7. Ignore the people who've forgotten what heartbreak feels like. Whatever happens, life will go on and new reasons to wake up joyfully will occur.
  8. OK I'm jealous. My new neighbour has built a home so damn lovely I'm going to have to do some actual work! I need to make my place compliment it now. I've already IMed her and gained permission the plagiarise the poop out of her. Anyway, here is the lovely build. Do you have anything nice next door to you?
  9. That's lovely Ann. Here's mine. I've just cleared my land because next door has built something so pretty I want to try and match it. Shame the ugly great skyscraper has gone up behind me though. It's a lake...why would you do that? Anyhoo.....
  10. Hi Kmere. I'm pretty sure the OMG gesture is from HoOka, which is here. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Courtney%20Island2/85/43/21 The other one I think I've sent to you inworld
  11. Hi Mariah, welcome to SL. Phil is right. As soon as you log off your avatar disappears. It doesn't wait for you to come bback. If you want to get where then before you logged out or crashed just open the viewer and at the botttom click the location tab and choose last location before you click login. If you need a place to call home, there are plenty. I keep offering myself up but my place is PG so no-one wants it even free of charge, lol ) Edited: Whole chunks of text missing
  12. This thread has been wonderful to read and sadly I don't have your talents but I'll give it a go anyway. I stay because when I run out of ideas to play with RL, SL provides them I remember being scared, intimidated and actually RL tearful in my first day in SL. I stayed though and I'm glad I did, as did you. Don't underestimate newbs. They're the current past you.
  13. Do it Celestial. If I can't be there, at least I could catch up on all the Linden goss.
  14. For Ceka because she likes videos, and because this is how I see things here. And how I would rather it were:
  15. You and me both Ceka. I'd love to attend this year, but I think RL will keep me away. Maybe we should to a 5-day festival next year lol. I loved being part of last year's pic for the event too. It was awesome by the end, with what was probably hundreds of avis in it.
  16. If we're throwing in "Chick" hair, I have to mention Truth, whose hair is my one true SL weakness. Marketplace: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/13 Inworld: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Truth%20Hair/104/43/26

The attitudes expressed are a far cry from "inclusive." The fact that the sender is affiliated, in any "official" capacity, after it was shared with the organizer, is downright scandalous. Hippie has been away from SL for days and won't be back for days. Are you sure he's aware of the content? If there's a scandal, wouldn't it have to wait for the facts and Hippies's response to them? Hippie and forum moderators were made aware of the content on the day I received it. They all received full copies of the PM. The author gave me permission to publish it anywhere. Why 'wait' over three months? I got tired waiting for the author to retract her words that sought to intimidate, harass and demean me. She has not yet done so. She could do the right thing and remove herself from the role of 'Security' and any organizing role for the event. What other facts do you seek? It's a shame you got tired of waiting until 3 weeks before the event Venus. Sad that this argument has to be brought into absolutely everything it seems.
  18. Nice sentiments Keli. I hope to try and attend this year, though Saturdays are hard for me. As for the childish animosity going on, well one of the reasons I didn't attend last year was to avoid certain people. To keep myself out of the firing line as it were. I was hoping things might be different this year, but when people are doing things like releasing 3-month old IMs to stir the pot, it's hard to see how it can stay true to its meaning. I wish Hippiestock well, whatever the outcomes.
  19. You can only look at the whole avatar in Photoshop CS4 extended onwards, where it has 3D capability. Any PS version before that doesn't have it I'm afraid.
  20. There must be one. The asteroids at Inspire Space Park bob when you sit on them I think.
  21. What about the shawl in this outfit? https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Homespun-Prairie-Day-Dress-and-Winter-Shawl-in-Blackberry/2110624
  22. Mayalily, I shop on the MP all the time. I visit inworld to buy stuff a lot, but I'm not put off by small merchants with no shop inworld. Maybe they can't afford one yet? *puts hand up* Anyway, I have no mental picture whatsoever of any of the MP front pagers you have mentioned. Now it;s fair to say, I am a stealth shopper RL. In, get it, get out, but in nearly 3 years of shopping here, I can honestly say that I have never noticed a front page model. I just don't look. I can't be the only one?

Meant for this to be about thanking Linden Labs for Second Life, but I guess there's just too much to complain about.:smileyembarrassed: There is if you can't give it up for even one day of the year, yeah. I suppose there is. Sheesh! /me kicks a football above the trenches and chucks a Paul McCartney on the record player. It's Christmas. At least attempt to lower yourselves to humanity's level? E.T.A.: This answer is not meant for you Eio, but for the Ebeneezers in the rest of the thread
