  1. If I won the lottery, I'd be playing SL on a golden throne with my computer on a solid gold desk.
  2. Microsoft is installing it's AI into your computers right now.
  3. LL never intended for account age to be something where avatars have a sense of 'oldness' but SL has existed for so long that it does. Account age doesn't give out real age but it does give users a perceived difference of age. We haven't seen this sort of thing in online virtual worlds or in MMOGs because most other places either die out before account age difference can be perceived or are so new that account age doesn't matter. It's an interesting phenomena that I think LL should keep because it makes SL unique.
  4. I had to make a spreadsheet using Google Sheets to write down the items I was thinking of buying, the price and the location on the map . Then I looked at each item and checked them against what I had already purchased to avoid any duplicate styles. I also set a budget on what I was going to spend and sadly had to put some items on the backburner. I did it because this month had so many things I wanted to buy and couldn't keep track of all of them. Does anyone else plan out their buying with spreadsheets? Or do you make all decisions on the fly and calculate everything your head? Or do you not shop?
  5. I think a lot of prank videos are staged. I mean, we typically see someone wandering to a place and trolling people where everyone is using voice and speaking relatively well enough to understand and record a video? They don't ban them immediately but just have a conversation? Anyways, for the OP, it is possible for someone to gain your personal information through social engineering. They'll ask open ended questions and then drill down to get specific information without ever asking you where you live. The only safe thing to do is lie during every single friendly conversation with strangers. My current cover is that I live in New England with a labrador named Fluffy.
  6. No one uses VR for Second Life often. I haven't used it since switching computers. I'll have to try it with my laptop.
  7. I'd suggest looking at pet stores which have non-player type animals. Those might have human animations for interacting with an animal shaped player. On animating animal shaped players, it's difficult because each one is unique and the hidden human body inside may be contorted and not line up with the animal shape. The animation software only deals with human shapes and would probably need a lot of testing to get the animal movement correct.
  8. Equal 10 is a pretty good event. I think I've been going to it for a few years.
  9. I've never really run into these rules but I don't go to clubs often. Would I change my avatar if there was some requirement? I'd elongate just my neck to reach the height requirement.
  10. It's hard to make something that only exists on a screen on our computers seem luxurious and upscale. We don't think of those who live a high-end life as also having a high-end experience on the internet. They have the same experience as everyone else. Second Life compared to real life luxury? No, SL is not. Second Life compared to other online entertainment? Apples and oranges. At the very least, in SL we can create the image of luxury in our virtual world and in our avatars. We can't really do that in other games or virtual worlds because we just don't have the tools to create it.
  11. I have one called a Nitropanic GF Krokk which is mesh and designed for females. It looks like they have a platform version and a less platform version.
  12. I don't know if this has hit FIrestorm but the latest versions of the Linden viewer have changed where everything is a lot brighter now. Anything light colored in the environment will be too bright to look at unless the ambient light is set to a darker setting than in the past. If objects are set to full bright they will be difficult to see even in a fully dark environment.
  13. I am able to log in. Default SL viewer.
  14. I have used the feed for posting photos the past few years and it seems to work most of the time. Sometimes it stops working for a while but it always starts working later. The feed has a box at the top that says 'share something' and if you click on it you can type text. To post a photo, you go into your camera and instead of saving to inventory or saving as a file you can save it to the feed. I don't recall any way to add an inventory photo to the feed. I guess you could rez a prim, put your image on it, take a photo and send it to your feed.
  15. New pickup line spreading like wildfire in SL. Hey I'm tech support and I need to get you naked to make sure you can log in correctly.
  16. I wouldn't do that sort of thing. It's way too much work and it sounds like a boring thing to do.
