  1. A little more tricky, but try using a Tube prim with the following parameters as a base path cut 0.50 0.00 hollow 95 hole size 1.00 0.05 profile cut 0.00 0.25 Experiment with the last one. Not as easy as a cylinder but can make the walls a little thinner. And do a search for the Ivory Tower of Primitives - some greatt info and examples there
  2. Yes, did a test on this a few weeks ago. As best I can work out, it involves 2 bot accounts. The first passively scans a welcome area to detect new avatars (trivial enough) It then messages a second bot. This second one sends the 'offer to tp to their location' message. New avatar clicks and voila - tp'd over to the second bot. Slight variation has the second bot actually coded up to roam within a set area so the new av doesn't actually land right next to it. And the scanner bot never actually contacts the new av either. Cue very confused new av...
  3. You have the whole net - start your own blog about it Its bound to stand out...
  4. If you click on the history tab of that wiki page theres an indication it was the end of January last year
  5. Yes a HUD will involve scripting. What you are asking for is a scripted way to apply textures/colours to an area ( a material ) of a mesh head I think (although any SL object works the same way). The tech is easy enough to do if..and its a big if..you have modify rights to the heads in question. And of course if you have the target heads to be scripted for. And as always..budget. Script wise its rather trivial. Effort versus reward as always is the question =^^= I wish you luck
  6. Have to add an agree to Dora there - if a script is giving you sleepless nights then find out why and rewrite to fix it =^^= Back in the Real World (!) when I did the 'always on call support nightmare' thingie a good part of my job was to make sure those 3AM local calls (which due to the nature of the company it could come any time local to them) were kept to a minimum If that meant a week of sitting up testing stuff before releasing it into the wild it was well worth it.
  7. '...is this not a done thing?...' well Its why there is a Wanted section here Yes I imagine any number of creators would build to order - I know I have over the years, as long as IP rights etc are respected.
  8. Actually I am also wondering. Setting a one day range yields the message - 'Please specify a correct date format of YYYY/mm/dd and ensure the start date occurs prior to the end date.' And just in case, there are transactions for that day......
  9. The change password and allow 24 hours (or so) for the two inventories to synch has not been working for some time...there are a number of comments regarding it elsewhere on the forums Its not the uplaoding that bothers me - its not having access to my newest inworld tools.
  10. Took a few minutes but yes able to access again =^^= Ah well short holiday over
  11. I am in the same boat since roughly the same time And my alt is useless as it has no toys/tools =^^= I don't remember any specific message but it did happen after some maintenance I believe. In addition, it seems that the password change refresh inventory process has been not registering for a while.
  12. Certain TPVs (inc Singularity) have this option. Select the object and in Tools there are options to save as OBJ or DAE (which can be imported to Blender). Be aware that the item must be totally yours and also the models exported will need a lot of cleaning up but its a great way to get into Blender =^^=
  13. Curious, which 'low qauilty mobile apps' would these be that Linden Lab put money into? Surely not a reference to the SL Go thing?
  14. Yes, and my standby for conversion on a PC is still IrfanView, as some of my ancient utilities take TGA as input.
  15. Along with the fact that theres nothing in it for the Lab, theres also the matter of asset security, amongst other thingd. Go and search for open sim info - you can host to your hearts content there.
  16. Interesting enough but out of my price point even if I owned one of those toys:) Quick question, can I assume there are external servers providing the stream? As I wonder if its one of the reasons for the TOS changes.
  17. Not more than usual, no. Apart from the usual rollout jumping from sim to sim:) About the only minor annoyance is the weekend, but then again our ISP tends to run slow then so not exactly a Second Life prob. Machine specs for fun: CPU: Pentium® Dual-Core CPU E6300 @ 2.80GHz (2799.99 MHz) Memory: 2048 MB Windows 7 32-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) Graphics Card: GeForce GT 610/PCIe/SSE2 yes its ancient I know:) But runs ultra and its easy enough to switch Advanced Lighting on and off to give a frame rate boost if needed.
  18. Curious to see too. Possibly free
  19. I tried leaving messages offering a bailout at par (1 to 1 in L$) but sadly....I think I might have to change it to 100 to 1...
  20. Any statement including 'believe in the power of bitcoin' gives me the urge to invoke the FSM to be honest
  21. We seem to have a replacement .... Linden Lab Leadership
  22. Parcel owner (or possibly group) can set certain options, there are details under Managing Your Parcel in the Knowledge Base
