To me, the most annoying lines are "how r u", "u r hot" etc. When I'm in a good mood, I respond with "Hi there. Use proper words next time you approach Me." Or, when some stranger messages me out of the blue with "you're hot" - my reply usually is "I know." Usually, there is nothing after that ^^

So why do you disable your away timer?
ThorinII replied to Kyrah Abattoir's topic in General Discussion Forum
I just dislike that default "Away" pose with the bent body and dropped down head. I regularly take breaks from the keyboard to prevent RSI, so I'm away from keyboard quite often, like 10 minutes break after 40-45 minutes activity. So, if no-one is around when I go away from keyboard for longer than my usual RSI break, I rather put my avatar on "Busy" ; and if my girls are around, I simply tell them that I'll be away for some time. -

Forums There are some forums I've been active on since 2002, and others which I left and moved on. I still use Wikipedia of course, and deviantArt, and websites of print media (I still have a few media that I get regular newsletters from), and weather.com. I had a Geocities webpage (though Geocities doesn't exist anymore), but I still have a Photobucket account which I haven't logged into for years, and Flickr (same), and a couple (still active) email accounts at Yahoo. As for search engines: I've been using https://www.startpage.com for years

I do care. In my opinion, the product can be absolutely perfect to my liking or "needs" - but if the creator is a racist arsehole, I either don't buy their products at all, or delete the item and shrug the L$ off.

According to an email I got, from FightForTheFuture.org, the Senate voted on this subject today.

I allow myself USD 20 to 25 for SL per month that I exchange into L$. From that amount, I pay the land that *I* want for myself, as my emotional need, primary - that it's also used for my group of friends and subs, is secondary. I buy things and outfits *I* like, to feel good, to feel more comfortable. Or things I love others to have or wear, which pleases me too. It's *my* spare time I'm spending inworld after all - why should I do anything that's not fun? ^ This.

How long have you been a Resident of Second Life?
ThorinII replied to Xiola Linden's topic in General Discussion Forum
I created my first account in March 2008. With this my second account, however, I'm only 470 days old. -

Whenever a new girl submitted to me, I used to ask "What time zone are you in?" when that wasn't mentioned in her profile already. And I even asked that question only because I live SLT+9 . and I need to be sure that zime zone differences aren't to become a problem for both of us. Everything else - age, gender, location, name, look and so on of the person behind the avattar - is not of interest fo rMe.

I've never had such creepy encounters, but my wife had someone in her friendslist who always asks "How can I imagine you in Real Life?" I think such kind of questions come from people who consider Second Life to be just a 3d chat or game.

Do you use Second Life as your radio station?
ThorinII replied to Vanity Fair's topic in General Discussion Forum
^This. Both the stream I use on my parcel, and the stream of a club I used to frequent, are saved in my amarok (a music player on Linux), so that I can listen to them even when I'm not inworld.- 18 replies
