Actually it is possible to debate with leftists, what I can't say about the folks from the right part of the political spectrum. I've had a lot of people all over from centrist to left debate with me, and I am as leftist as you can get (I'm so leftist, being called a Commie actually nails it )

My grandfather taught me critical thinking and to form my own opinions about the system we lived in back then, by letting me read a lot of political books (not only Marx and Lenin, but also indexed books like those by Trotzki, Bakunin, Kropotkin, Proudhon, and others). And he, as a Communist since his youth, lived his conviction by example (even though sometimes that gave him trouble by the ruling party), and had a natural charisma. That's why I looked up to him as long as he lived. He died, with 87 years, in summer 2001...

↑ This. ↑ The V1.x UI was way more intuitive than any viewer UI later on, the current one included. Back then in '08 when I started with my very first account, it took me literally minutes to come clear with the viewer - I even bought, unpacked and assembled my first freebie outfit at Free Dove (I think) just 10 minutes after creating that account. Maybe I understood it so quickly because I hadnn't been "spoiled" by any game UIs before - but anyways, I haven't seen any virtual world client UI yet (and I've visited quite a few since then) that was more intuitive than the V1.x LL Viewer. And because the V1.x UI is so intuitive, I mainly use Firestorm (in Phoenix Mode), Cool VL Viewer, or Singularity on my machines. And, Firestorm in general is - in my opinion - more user-friendly than the LL viewer. Also, they have better user support inworld.

I think the Lastnames should be available at Account creation, to chose from a list - just the same procedure like before their demise. That said, I think all with the placeholder Resident instead of a Lastname should have a one time chance to get a Lastname for free, every other name change (also for all the other "Lastnamers", as Klytyna calls them) should be for Premium accounts only, plus a good fee (in USD).
