  1. Thank you so much for sharing, Ellie! Don't hesitate to give me a shout if you ever want an exploring buddy :-D *waves!*
  2. Hey BB, I think you might have better luck posting in a different sub-forum honestly, someone might even come and move it manually! Perhaps the InWorld employment or General ADULT forums might help narrow the scope and put you intouch with more like-minded individuals!! Best of luck in your new business adventure :matte-motes-big-grin: ~!
  3. If you are unable to Follow them manually, they may have Following turned off in their Profile Privacy Settings (Edit Profile>Privacy>Follow Info). To my knowledge, the "Follow" feature is only useful for seeing a residents pictures in your feed withough being friends with them, so if you are already friends with them there is a chance they have their feed turned off/private and don't use their profile to post content.
  4. I love Kowloon sim and have actually wondered if there was a deeper meaning myself~!
  5. Arubion, sounds like quite the heafty undertaking. I assume you are talking about creating this from the ground up since this is posted in the General Land forum. The first thing I would say is there might already be a RolePlay Sim/InWorld Game System that fits a lot of the descriptions you list. Territory, Combat Systems, Scripted Armor and Weapons, these concepts all exist and have been refined over the years. Second, a Simulation as complex as you describe would without a doubt cost a lot of time and money, possibly even a small team of people to help out. A full sim with roleplay and custom combat systems would require a top-notch builder to construct and landscape the sim, you would also be best off with a strong scripter on your team. If you are posting this as simply an Idea then I would STRONGLY consider seeking out and joining something that has already been created InWorld, as the amount of work you will have ahead of you can be quite daunting especially if you don't have a commited team of people to help you. The only way you will be able to get people who aren't already close friends to either Invest or Sign up for a Beta is if you have a solid concept put togther, perhaps a Sim already purchased and organized! Regardless, it seems like an awesome concept, and I feel like a lot of people might be willing to give this kind of RolePlay pretty fun! I hope you pursue it one way or another, either creating your own new world from scratch or go participate in someone elses project :matte-motes-asleep-2:
  6. Woaah you are right Cheri! Thanks for pointing that out I must have glossed right over that. Unfortunate </3
  7. Hello everybody. My name is Saul, and I love to explore! I am here to ask you all to share with me your personal destinations. Do you have a location that is open to the public? Do you have a favorite place that you would like to share? I want to know about it, and anything goes! *(I am not interested in "adult" content, unless it is integral to the theme. I am mature and won't mind!) Some of my favorite types of locations would be Cafes, Bars, Clubs, Outdoors Areas, Abandoned places, Old Locations, Mainland Gems, Communities, in-world games and art galleries! Lets try to keep this to public locations. :catvery-happy: This way we all can enjoy! So please, don't hold back, i need a good healthy list of places to digest, post away all your landmarks you'd like to share! I'd be happy to meet up with anyone for a personal tour as well :-) ~*~*~*~*~
  8. First, you need to be 18 years or older. You provided your date of birth when you signed up for SL. If you are both 18 and you provide Billing Information via your Account Page there should be no restrictions. Me>Preferences>General InGame will let you choose what content you can access via a dropdown menu if you have added Billing information but still encounter trouble accessing adult content.
  9. Renting a space at this sim has been a great opportunity for myself, Windlight does a FANTASTIC job of supporting the community through both the publication and their awesome and frequent events.

    Continents

Cheers Perrie :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: I now have a better understanding of the Wiki in general, thanks for that!

    Continents

Errr woops, Lol. Regardless, I think most of my information and suggestions have little to do with Lindens endorsing, and therefore still relevant? Is there something about my false attribution of wikipedia information that detracts from the rest of my advice and information? Either way thanks for setting me straight on that one.
  12. ~*~ WISH YOU WERE HERE ~*~ There is always room for company when I am exploring, don't hesitate to send me a message I'd love to meet some more folks who are willing to join be :-)

    Continents

Hello Shhy! Linden defines a "Continent" in SL as a cluster of 30 or more Sims. The most popular and largest Continents on the grid are Sansara, Heterocera, Jeogeot, Satori, Nautilus, Corsica and the Gaetas. These are easily identifyable as the largest land masses on the grid, and can be seen by zooming out your world-view map. There are several smaller Sub-Continents that still fit the Lindens guidelines, but most will be Private Sims and not follow the Mainland rules in terms of renting. Smaller land-masses often follow strict themes or foster RolePlay environments. I am attaching two maps that I am sure everyone is familiar with on the forum, you can find them InWorld at most infohubs and scattered throughout the mainlands. Also here are some links for fragmented information on the wiki, some info might be dated but its good to read up anyway! The best way to learn about the Mainland InWorld is to simply EXPLORE! There are infohubs on each continent, some with detailed maps of the area. Roadways are a bit of a crapshoot, but the pod system still operates perfectly, so you can stand on the roadside anywhere and wait for a ride to pick you up and show you the area. Seems like you have quite the interest in the mainland, judging by your other quesitons and posts :-) would love to meet up something and explore/chat! ~*~*~ SL Wiki List of Continents SL Wiki Geography Master Page
  14. Shhy, nowadays Mainland Themes are more loose guidelines than anything. There are still some places such as Bay City which mainain the theme Linden intended, but on the other hand entire continents such as Sartori were originally Japanese themed, but over the years has just devolved into randomity. Private sims are the most popular use of theming, advantages can range from having a cohesive enviroment for photography, to gathering like-minded folks together to roleplay things such as Science Fiction or Modern Suburban Life. There are Sims that exist on the mainland that maintain themes, but rarely do they stretch more than 1 or 2 sims continually. Some "Sub Continents", or smaller mainlands, do exist that still implement and maintain their themes (e.g. Caledon, Winterfell, Babbage), but more often than not it is a simialr situation to what I stated above. The advantages are going to be entirely up to the theme itself and what activities take place on the sim. It can be quite rewarding to be a part of a themed sim community that is in line with your interests and values.
  15. Sounds like an awesome idea! Look forward to hearing more about this....
