Since I are a DJ, I thought I would chime in. To Drakeo's point: I don't think its fraud in a literal sense of the word. First of all, to be fraud involves a rather large amount of money. If I get a 100L tip that's only 42 cents in RL USD. Hardly fraud. And if the DJ announces that he/she is also the hostess as an alt, they aren't really hiding anything. And the audience has the right to tip one, both, or neither. I do think it is disingenuous to double dip as DJ and host. Pick one. Drakeo, you also say this happens a lot. In my 11 years in SL and 8 as a DJ I've never seen it. It is difficult to do both jobs. I can't imagine doing both at one time.

Glad you got back up and running. As Coffee said, using the SL viewer as a backup is done by a lot of people. Even the FS team in-world will tell people to use the SL viewer and see if a problem occurs.

I have the Genus Strong head. All I've done is add freckles with a tattoo layer. hes All this about "realism" brings up a topic I ran into in a book I was reading. The "uncanny valley". What that refers to in robotics is the closer an artificial construct looks human the more repulsed humans are. A lot of people can't afford or are unwilling to purchase a gaming platform PC just to run SL. I SL on an off the rack HP lappy with the biggest concession to SL was 12GB of RAM. Which FS help says makes no difference. BUT my SL run 200% better on this lappy than my old one did.

I don't see myself as a "gamer because I don't see SL as a "game". It's an extension of me I do SL for the social aspects.

I scored in 12-15 range (mildly narcissistic) It did add this: "You scored particularly high in authority, suggesting you see yourself as a leader or as someone who values power." But I am a teacher in RL, so I suppose that's a natural progression in my personality.

I assume you've checked to see if Serato will connect to SL Not all software do. Or need special shoutcast add-ons

Additionally water textures alone account for some issues people have being in SL. This in according to people I know in the Firestorm Help group. The more you put on your graphic card, the harder it has to work. If i turn off or tune down water textures alone my FPS increases by 100%. When people complain about lag or poorly operating SL, I ask them to make changes in Prefs to water textures. Almost every one said it improved. I have been in SL for 11 years. I listen to what people who are smarter than I tell me.

I don't think any reasonable person believes we are the only species in the Galaxy. My assertion is simply that they haven't been coming here.

Again these are people YOU know. I stand by my argument. The odds are far against 2 civilizations from planets light years away meeting. Just as the odds are you'll meet someone you don't know, never met, and only know by first name in NYC.

Meeting someone YOU know is entirely different from meeting someone that your neighbor knows in NYC. I used to live in DC area and I would go to visit my parents on holidays. I would run into someone and mention I where I lived and they would ask me if I had seen some random person. The DC area is somewhat big. Again, I'll say, meeting some random stranger in NYC is not likely. Apples and oranges.

What possible difference does it make, unless you plan to buy LL out and make them public.
