  1. I once put "too many" items in a prim. At the time I asked support how many is "too many"? They patiently explained to me that, at the time, there was no specific codified limit but that there was a practical limit effected by how many items could load to be displayed by the viewer without something timing out or data going missing. I was given a solution to recovering access to the items I had stored in the prim. It was to add one more item, a script that had been crafted to offer an item to me then ask me if I received it so that item could then be deleted from the prim's task inventory. It was not a particularly handy way to get items back because it offered one item at a time, apparently selected at random. I could not help but feel I was being pranked. I wasn't bothered by this because all of the items I had placed in the prim were things I had made playing a game where people try to guess what I am building. Now, many years later, I can rez that same storage prim and all of the items stored within it show up in the list in a short period of time. There are only a few hundred items in there, so, hearing it said that the limit is now 10,000 is quite interesting.
  2. I bought land to live on. I liked the land I bought. I lived on my land with friends that visit and some that stayed a lot. I liked my friends to visit me and the land I liked that I bought. Someone bot the land I live on. I like that not a lot. They bot my land a lot and jeered when I fought their right to bot. My friends did not like the bot that stayed nor the bots that came and went. My friends went away one day when their patience with bots was spent. I live alone on my land with bots. Lots of bots that pay no rent. Someday real soon I will abandon land because no help has Governance sent. ---- Good luck getting real help with this issue. The castle has already been stormed.
  3. I laughed because people replied without looking at what I linked.
  4. I downloaded and installed OpenSim but I can't seem to get the Second Life Viewer to connect to it. SimTK: OpenSim: Project Home
  5. Absolutely! For numerous reasons, it's best to fix new bugs before they become part of the infrastructure and are depended upon by later developments. PRB is probably still close enough to the surface for this to apply. Besides, we have already been told the floating bug is being fixed. We are just amusing ourselves by pretending it will be fixed at our behest.
  6. Fix this! Fix it now before some idiots make content that depends on it!
  7. I use OBS to record SL. Hiding the mouse cursor is just an option there. But OBS is a whole six-pack of cans of worms to master so probably not what you want just for recording. I know I won't be tutoring anyone on OBS. Sometimes I use a game controller to move my camera around.
  8. Not that I know of. Is very easy to make a mess using it though! I have seen people accidentally flip houses and other items.
  9. Dunno. I absolutely will not install Firestorm. However, I can search Debug Settings in Second Life Viewer for "grab" to find this likely looking candidate.
  10. Yes, CONTROL + SHIFT and the left mouse button on my setup does that. It appears to be sequence sensitive. Hold CONTROL, mouse over the object, left-click and hold, then add holding down SHIFT then move the mouse a little while still holding the button and both modifier keys.
  11. Yes. CONTROL plus Grab starts a physics-like move, left-right and up-down, on a non-physically-active object the agent has permission to move. After initiation, addition of ALT changes this to left-right and away-toward, and SHIFT changes to rotations. This set of actions can be disabled via a viewer option.
  12. Then they dump that stuff in a bowl, toss it in a cold oven then pull the finished dish out of another cold oven and wave it around with a flourish.
  13. Somewhere out there is a tall gangly dude with a belt buckle that's blinding airplane pilots. Not sure how but it went from, "Oh, your belt buckle glows a little" to a monitor taxing flood of white light. I suspect he went shopping for a new belt after he updated his viewer and saw that for himself. Wave and say "Hi!" if you see him.
  14. For a "living document", that wiki has a lot of necrotic tissue.
  15. Where is Second Life? I have been looking all over Google Maps for it and haven't found it.
  16. I say this to realtors a lot when they use the word Premier in a real-estate listing or when they use it verbally when describing a property.
  17. Oh, yeah. The Linden trees almost do not exist in the simulator where they are but a point. All the visible structure is merely a viewer effect almost like a particle effect with no grabbable face by which to move or return them.
  18. Does this server release make my butt sound big?
