  2. Just wanted to say that letting folks know what you are modeling in and things like the triangle count etc would be good. If you are making high resolution models for renders --- that is a much more complex project to get them into game asset mode (which you really need in SL) than if you are already making game assets. Also if the models need to be ani-mesh (like for stand alone NPCs) that will definitely limit the number of folks that could do the work. If by "animations" you mean adding animations to furniture say -- that is a much easier process with many more folks knowing how to do things. If you are new to SL (just guessing didn't research) it is important to know that LODs are very important as well as the triangle count. Also PBR just came onto the grid (or is in the process) so if you are looking at using PBR that is something else to chat about. Hope you find the right person.
  3. Land prices (resale that is) are determined by what folks are willing to pay. Fifteen years or so ago when SL was "very hot" I sold a 512 lot for 20,000 lindens (actually two of them side by side). They had a narrow channel of sailable waterway in front. Ten year later I was paying a linden per meter (and not abandoned land). Granted not water bordered. Land prices HAVE been very low in SL at times and sometimes less than 1 Linden per meter. And that didn't always sell all that quickly. I have been renting for a long while. There are some very good deals out there if you look for them.
  4. Just noting that for ME using the PBR Linden viewer -- I did have lots of packet loss when I first rezzed in. I was taking screenshots for comparison with current (well one behind) FS viewer and had to set things up to match the photos -- EEP, pose etc. By the time I had taking my screenshot (maybe 3 minutes) I had no packet loss at all. Documented on another current PBR thread and also on my blog, today Sunday.
  5. LAZY SUNDAY --- Honestly except for some things from Nutmeg I haven't found anything of interest on the "weekend" sales in a very long time but seeing a lot of good things on the Lazy Sunday list which I had NOT looked at before. I am not much in a buying mood but found one thing for a bizarre blog post LOL and continuing looking. So check out that listing if you haven't

    How to take off demos

If you have made any outfits the easiest thing is to just change to another outfit. There is likely a clear layer "button" in the EVOX Hud but I don't use that so can't say. Someone else will know.
  7. Here is my test shot with the Linden PBR viewer over at the bridge. Happily it looks pretty much like what I see in the old FS viewer on non-PBR regions. I think the "shine" looks a bit flat and I am off to test that. I suspect you can up the shine if you want that. The video seems to suggest that this is similar to Sansar's method. Below is the same shot with same lighting in the Firestorm (no PBR) viewer.
  8. And there will be plenty that do not care. Not all of us "like" that new look even if it is industry stand (and I am assuming easier on viewers like the new mobile ones). I spent over a year in Sansar though with my SL style baked items and they DID look better WITHOUT PBR and were very well received . I do agree that the mirror and mirrored reflections are impressive. I am just pretty sure that a lot of folks will not want a whole new inventory after they have spent money (sometimes thousands of US dollars) on what they have. The fact that anyone can turn their items into PBR with some purchased textures and a few clicks is a good option for consumers (see video above) but I foresee it hurting a lot of content creators --- maybe helping the full-perm folks a bit. Will be interesting to see what happens. Happy that I am pretty much retired and don't have to worry about it all.
  9. LeTigre sandboxes (one and two) are currently closed to the public (or a group). I see a few green dots but can't get in. Harwich as spelled above doesn't come up in search. BUT the Bridge is available http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Pengallen Bridge/106/61/53 EXCELLENT (not surprising) video here: The THEORY is that current textures with baked or substance painter textures will look fine. Folks that have been using a bunch of "bump and shine" (normal and specular maps) may be in trouble BUT if the item is mod this can be "fixed" pretty easily (that worked in Sansar anyway so hope that info hold true here. I am off to test a bit.
  10. Nutmeg is doing the multiple things thing again :D. There is a LI list on the back wall with info which is nice. I am getting the baskets 4 and 2 LI
  11. To add to all of this the moles can send back "anchored" items any time they notice and choose to do so. I suggest that making a small connection point (like a driveway) and then putting a low wall or maybe some planters on YOUR land would be a better idea than trying to connect the complete plot to the road. Don't link anything that you want to lose :D. So link to a transparent prim rather than the main building as it could - may - likely will disappear eventually. This has always been the rule.
  12. IF this isn't phishing for your account info then the " SecondLive Viewer" sounds like a copybot viewer and you might want to forward that on to support. It "could" I guess be an Opensim Ad but that would be my third choice in the possible list.
  13. I have OH SO MANY pages with things form Sn@tch. I was trying to find a post with one of the Halloween mystery events but Blogger wasn't helpful there. I did find this screenshot which I thought was fun and memorable. Good times.
  14. I don't run SL on my notebook with Win11 but I have had TONS of problems with updates and issues with all sorts of programs. My "fix" each time (fingers cross this keeps working) is to run Glary Utilities. Most of my issues appear to have been in the registry --- each time (and we are talking about 8 in less than a year). I suspect other utilities clean ups will do the same. Good luck. If that works it is a pretty easy fix and so I don't panic as much when the updates come.
  15. Well one of the two I sent in reports on deleted the gachas on the main floor --- BUT there is a whole second floor of gachas that remained. Honestly I haven't looked in a bit. Did a long blog post on the issue and won't be featuring either brand in the future (had in the past and actually blogged for one for YEARS). They obviously know they are wrong. I don't want them to lose their accounts --- just stop. Not fair to all the folks that were hurt (and became legal with the rules) after gachas were banned. I don't do the breedables thing after my bunny LOL LONG ago but I believe they too should be halted as "gambling" because your really are. There is no SKILL involved there, just chance.
  16. Does anyone realize how many CONTENT CREATORS are "free accounts"? Sixteen years here. One year premium to have "the Belli experience".
  17. LOL. Went and looked when these first were announced but not feeling very much of a bargain to me. Also be sure and check your inventory as I have a couple of these items already and others look pretty familiar.
  18. University of Western Australia art and machinima :D. Big loss for the creative folks.
  19. I typically stay away from here these days since I am in OLD Blender and have no intention of leaving LOL (yes tried many times; we didn't "mesh" well". Anyway if you are trying to bake several textures to one plane (texture file to export) this MAY help -- at least with the idea. The simple one: And more advanced These are the OLD interface.
  20. Haven't read this thread but my "vote" would be losing things in the database. This has been going on since before I was born (so 16 years) for the biggest (noticeable) occurrence for me was in June where I not only lost items in inventory but items rezzed (ones I mad so not a DMCA issue) but also lost one of my blogger groups and had to get the owner to add me back in. It has become part of "that's how it is" for me but I suspect I have lost thousands of US dollars of goods over my lifetime and I see no reason for this. I know that I am not alone.
  21. There have been times in the past where folks abandoned whole sims or sold them on a first com basis for 1 linden so abandoning land is not unusual :D. Hope it works out for you.
