  1. BEFORE that wasn't a good option but new owners now so good luck with that. I haven't cashed out since Tilia. If I ever get poor enough to go against my beliefs to pay for groceries then I will have a problem LOL.
  2. In the PAST anyway you had to put in a ticket asking to increase you cash out limits. This works if you make more per month than you are able to cash out. If that isn't the case they may still OK since you are "old" and "stable" (just assuming). You have to jump through some hoops to do that (or you did). Best really to send out what you make on a regular basis if you can.
  3. Belle Époque on 25L Tuesday. Maitreya only
  4. Stories & Company pretty old so not sure they are still around but yes! New is not necessarily better
  5. Ready for things that go bump in the night.
  6. You need to stand in front of something solid like a wall or the sky. Anything with an alpha (transparent) shadow will do that if you have on hair that ALSO has an alpha channel. So don't take photos with trees or bushes BEHIND your hair --- move the view over a bit and you can still have them in the photo, just NOT behind your hair.
  7. You need to DERENDER AND BLOCK (that block is important or they will come back when you relog each time). There IS a setting for GLOW that is likely (hopefully) in the Linden viewer also. That would help with some of it perhaps but not all.
  8. Wondering if that was EVENT OWNERS and not creators. In my experience the two are very different
  9. While all the comments above are true (and most everyone gets caught a time or two somehow) I have a couple of ideas. You might want to contact the CRS again with your complaint. After that you might want to contact the maker you brought from in case the CSR isn't doing THEIR JOB. You then if all else is still failing you might want to contact the owner of the event the creator is selling from and let them know the problem. In my experience event owners usually DON'T want to know when something is wrong but it is worth a try. PS. This is all a lot of work for 60 lindens or so but I understand the frustration.
  10. Lots of things out for the weekend again at Nutmeg. The biggest DEAL is the couch which apparently includes the pull out bed with pallet as well as the empty pallet on the left -- according to the sign. I bought it so will come back and report in a bit. EDIT: Both A and PG versions are included. 18 land impact. Fairly heavy mesh as you might expect but there is also a LOT there. The biggest "lag" issue is that there are 68 textures (OMG). http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/REKA NUTMEG/124/100/27
  11. Lots of group gifts at Younge & Bloor which makes very nice stuff. 50 linden group fee. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Artemisia Island/51/77/22
  12. In the VERY olden days some shapes were no mod. Now days I doubt that there are many or ANY that sell that way. There is no way to "protect: a mod shape. It is very much like recipes in real life. There are no copyrights. Anyone can copy a no mod shape even in SL and resell. In my mind having a shape store is more about the adventure than actually selling. It is simply too easy for folks to make shapes. Adding style cards would help, but again, anyone could copy that easily.
  13. So the "best possible item" would NOT be something that had ALL the LODs set as the top level -- unless it was a cube LOL. That isn't a hundred percent correct answer but let me explain a bit. IF you do that, not only will the land impact be very high it will also force the viewer to render ALL the triangles in that object from a far away distance -- a distance that in many cases is too far away from the object to SEE the individual triangles. I don't know what you make but here is an example. This is a SINGLE mesh that is about half a meter by half a meter in size and one land impact. The top two levels are set at full so that even those on default Linden viewer will see the object as created Up to about 7 meters (a good size living room distance in real life). The next level down is MUCH lower, There is no way anyone could see the beads from 80 feet away. Even folks on the Linden viewer can see this well at a large living room distance. When you get a long ways from an object there is NO REASON for all those triangles. That is what you see at 25 meters at LOD2 which is the majority of folks. Those using LOD 3 and LOD4 will see close to the same thing but with their computer working harder. EDIT: that is they will ALWAYS see the item at its full triangle count no matter the distance (practical or impractical). I personally don't agree with animats statement about never going below 20 on the lowest setting. There may be times when it is important to see a furniture or décor item half way across the sim, but those times are rare. OBVIOUSLY how you choose to upload depends a lot on what you are making. A backdrop to be used for photos doesn't need great LODs but a building that will be used as a shop should have good distance LODs (my opinion). The most important thing I think is to be aware of what folks are seeing and TESTING TESTING TESTING. If you have a very small item that needs to be seen from a fairly long distance (say a small vase) then using a higher LOD setting on level 3 would make sense. I have never found a need to have a high number in the bottom setting. There are other tricks you can use that work better -- AND a good rule is to keep your original model as simple as it can be and still get the job done. Use textures for some of the detail etc. In my opinion the worst thing a creator can do is have their viewer set at LOD4 and not testing at other settings to see what the majority of folks will see.
  14. Cross posting from How Does you SL look as this is a spectacular gift (once again) from GABRIEL at Neo Japan. Maitreya and Legacy for gals. Gianni, Legacy and Bellezza for the guys. Guys have boots and pants as one piece. This fit other bodies such as altamura (shown) http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/GABRIEL3/132/128/501 Limited time while Neo Japan is on. But there is always a nice gift twice a year at the GABRIEL booth (sponsor).
  15. Today is likely the last day for that as it has been up for almost a week now so hurry if you want it
  16. Lots to say about Windlight but now things are EEP. I can do pretty much what I want with EEP now but I didn't make tutorials. Hopefully you are using Firestorm which has many more options. If so, find a EEP you like adjust with the personal lighting settings until you are happy OR make your own EEP setting. If you are using setups then if you leave your backdrop up and save your EEP setting you should be able to have things look fairly similar :D. It takes practice LOL to figure out what the sliders all do.
  17. Just wanted to note that it is actually 8 materials per mesh piece (the upload splits things unappily still I presume if you have more than 8. Youu can also put all of those 8 MATERIALS on one texture file which gets uploaded ONCE. So for example you could have a roof that was textured with only ONE texture but would still be 9 materials for tinting. The main part of the building could again bey 8 different materials that were all defined on one texture plane and uploaded as one texture. Etc etc. OLD interface video with how to here which might help some:
  18. I think the most important is the lighting AND consistency. Simple works for me but others put a lot of information on their vendor pics and I guess that works too although I can't actually READ most of that tiny text when seen on the Marketplace. This is an unretouched photo taken AT a venue for a blog post. I think the simplicity grabs your attention better than lots of clutter, but that's just me. I would take a look at what your competitors are doing and see which ads jump out at you from the big group listing. That is likely what you are looking for. This is NOT mine product
  19. You can likely find just what you are looking for at NEO JAPAN. Happily it is about to open. It will likely take a few days or a week before you can get in though :D. https://www.neo-japan.sl/
  20. Most stores in SL use vendor systems where this is built in. Linden Lab now owns the most popular vendor system. In order to make sales EASY you need to use a vendor system :D. I have never used one and I just don't have sales (shop and hop excepted). Choices --- Choses.
