  1. Like other said there are some amazing designers out there who give away completely free things. My favorite just happens to be the shop named after a fruit- I don't know if we're allowed to name names or not. But I tend to go with the less stylish things and just go with basic components like cardigans and jeans. and one idea if you do want to build on your inventory is to go into the marketplace and look in the gatcha listings. Looooooots of things there for the body that you chose under 10L. Same for hair. Absolutely nothing wrong with wearing the same thing for even the life of your avatar. For me I like to buy shoes and wigs. I was graced with exceptionally large wide feet that can only fit into men's sneakers. And my hair is thin and dry as straw so it's always bound up on the top of my head. Second Life allows me to have big bouncy peg Bundy hair and wear fancy stripper heels and cutesy tennis shoes. 😍
  2. I've only left for an extended period once (6 months) and I did give away my lindens. I just gave them to one person though- there weren't that many of them (tho everything is subjective) less than 1k. 10 Lindens for an upload fee can seem like a small treasure when you're broke (been there!). I agree the relay for Life is also a great idea for a recipient as well....
  3. I just went wandering around tonight- and found an area I really liked called Davenport- I think it's the bridge- I love bridges.
  4. @Faye Feldragonne My best guy friend only has access to SL via lumiya on a tablet. He has cleared his cache. Now he can not use his inventory and he does not see animations on his screen. Your copy of Lumiya is working likely because you have not cleared your cache. If you were to do so, or to delete and reinstall a clean copy- your animations would no longer work. To quote from a conversation I had with someone in the group (their words not mine, as I am not techy): People who experience full functionality, it's because the animations and so forth are cached. Lumiya cannot communicate with the asset server at all On the technical side, the reason this happened is simple. LL stated they would be turning off some old APIs connected to inventory retrieval. Most viewers switched to the newer APIs. Lumiya and Singularity didn't, so those two viewers both broke down In laymans terms, Lumiya itself is no longer compatible with the LL inventory server **and so far as it being "defunct" as I put it- is because no one has heard from the developer for months (at least in terms of Lumiya) - she's not logged in since March 18th this year. Lumiya is not open source, so no one can just go in and tinker with it. Someone would have to create their own android viewer from the ground up- her code is not accessible- you'll also notice that lumiya was removed from google play- tho the reasons for that i'm not totally sure on unless the viewer no longer met google parameters- it was removed from the 3rd party viewer listing in the linden labs wiki in 2018 or earlier.
  5. Oh wow! I don't know how I ended up at the "E" one. I didn't even notice that. duhr duhr duhr- I feel dumb. Seriously. Explains it all. Thanks xvixenx71
  6. I don't understand why I didn't see any of that on SSP84? I cammed over from the east, then actually tp'd in. I didn't see the lake at all. I didn't see roadwork, either. I ran a blank area search, and the only thing it returned was one of those linden homes coming soon signs?
  7. I think breedables add to the lag issues. I gave up my home in Emerson Lake last week & bought some mainland. In Belliseria I was surrounded by horses & crops & little percolating balls of scripts waiting to be born. They ought to be put in one corner of the map like a smoking section in a restaurant. Such that I have to go out of my way to be subjected to them.
  8. I lost my Daddy it will be 3 years in November. And I can be alright for days at a time, and then something like a song, or even a meal can remind me of him & I'm off bawling. I don't want him to have the heartache and regrets with me that I had with my parents. I sure do a good job of being my parents tho sometimes. & Pink, I am very sorry for the loss of your mom. *hugs*
  9. Not to be a killjoy but I have no desire to become part of a machine. When it's my time to fall off the twig of life, I like to think I will return to the stardust from whence I came. I won't delve into any spiritual thoughts cause those conversations get messy.
  10. I tried opensim about 9 years ago and even back then by SL standards it was pretty blah. I think I would be annoyed with myself for all the money I spent over the years intangible digital things. then I'd be thankful for friendship sided made and thankful for the ones that had crossed over into real life so that I didn't lose track of them. Then I probably flip on the TV slowly forget about SL.
  11. The AuctionServices Linden account is what my land I put up for auction reverted to as owner this past week. I took down from the auction block and it immediately reverted back to me as owner. And on the auction fee thought- there is a fee- you're required to list your land in search which for me was a $30L a week fee. I -and I set my minimum at what I paid for it, to try to recoop, but I decided to just wait until more homes are released in Bellisseria. (I've already lived on Emerson Lake).
  12. No. This has been discussed ad nauseam in the forum Alwin directed you to. Stop and consider if the lindens either 1) did cookie cutter layouts- how would that differ than the 10 year old premiums? or 2) waited until there was "enough for everyone *which has been shown to be an impossible number to determine*" before deploying- it would be years from now, and we'd just be standing about watching the Moles build new, empty neighborhoods, for years? And it is not impossible to have one of the new premium homes, but yes, you must dedicate a bit of time to attempting to catch one on either a release day, or catching one that is surrendered by a previous occupant. You also still have access to the older homes, or can purchase a 1024 spot on mainland.
  13. There is an inworld group for the now broken & noncompliant Android viewer Lumiya. It has a barely functioning 3D view right now. There is a number of residents within the group wanting to approach LL with a request that the lab create an actual LL mobile viewer. Personally I don't think the lab is going to invest the resources necessary to accomplish this because the mobile client user base is so small. But you can join that group and start the conversation up to find out who it is that is going to approach the lab and ask for your ideas to be mentioned.
  14. All those pixel goods will still be there in another week after the hype dies down. Hopefully the clothes will still be in fashion ^^
  15. Deleted my backyard and started over. Put in a pond. Boy contractors are expensive 😛
  16. That is really nice & a innovative ideas to Bellisseria become more immersive!
