And just to beat a dead horse, (possibly) they might be empty- but so long as they're not on an unreleased region, they are claimed. There aren't any unclaimed dormant units sitting around in Bellisseria.

I guess maybe it's derendering of a sort- I go into the viewer and shut off ban lines. And I don't have my own computer I have to borrow my son's gaming computer and it's pretty beefy, but I still sit there and watch my frame rates and with his I can get up into the 200s most days at 32m. (This obsession was born from my computer that finally did die last winner- I was lucky to get into the teens on my frame rates on the same settings). If something's going on where I live and it starts dropping I'll go and to the advanced menu and I'll shut off the sky. If it's still not up to where I want it to be I'll turn the water off as well. But typically when I go out shopping I will click show friends only, and I'll have the sky shut off and I'll also strip down to my alpha. But about derendering people's objects near my home- yeah that's what it's there for. Or if something is just annoying (neon pink Palm trees that glow) or seems to cause problems with my viewer, *click* and it's gone.

There really isn't anything the group can do. THere appears to be some things that can be done with the help of a computer to get things going on a phone/tablet and likely someone online in group chat when you are could help you with it- Lumiya can no longer communicate with second life inventory servers. New copies of the app or old copies that have had the cache cleared appear to be broken to the user. They are unable to change clothes or view animations simply because the viewer cannot retrieve that information from linden labs. The creator of the app has not been on SL since March of 2018 2019. No one seems to know what has happened to her if she is all right in the real world or if she'll ever be back to fix it. Since it's not open source coding there's nothing to be done about it. There is speculation in the group that maybe someone will create a new app but that just remains to be seen...

I wonder how long it will take for a Mr. Lahey & Randy-Bo-Bandy avi to appear? To keep the park safe from the bottle kids & Ricky? 😃

I am not a member of their group but I receive their gifts once a week or twice a month- something like that. it's either because I'vr purchase their items in the past and that automatically set me up on some sort of list or I'm on a subscribe-o which I've been here in SL for 10 years and there's no telling if that's the case- I wouldn't remember.

Lol I wonder if you are clarifying tone with smilies due to the public tiff I had with another forum patron last week (a linden came in & locked the thread- I'd rathered he just deleted it but oh well- I suppose my continued public shaming of being exposed for being argumentative will continue to haunt me until memories fade & the thread is buried several pages deep. Anywho. I was having problems with the refresher timing out at 71 seconds a few days back so yesterday and today I ran it on 85 seconds. Even only tried for less than an hour tonight before landing the houseboat. So I did indeed get lucky today. it took about three weeks for me to get the house on Emerson Lake with running the refresher probably six hours a day at least. And I'm already noticing that it's a lot more traffic than Emerson lake was, which really makes me happy it was pretty lonely there as I do like to just stand at home. I have an inner ear disorder that causes dizziness and for whatever reason moving throughout second life triggers it. I'm good to stand at home and dance and whatnot as long as the background isn't moving. I just can't go off exploring and riding in vehicles, sailing, horseback riding or anything similar is absolutely out of the question. So it can hamper my chances for making new friends. Anywho my SL time for today is over. It would be interesting to find out if there was some sort of formula or any sort of pattern to successful house hunting. but it probably is just completely random luck of the draw.

I had the odd thought (while refreshing to get a home in Bellisseria (i moved off of Emerson Lake a month back) that maybe if I shut off the viewer I could catch a house- since I missed one 2x yesterday and it seemed my machine was lagging- the moment I did- I caught a houseboat! And almost on top of my best friend! There is just one houseboat in between us. How weird is that! *goes off to do happy decorating dance* (posting because I wonder if not running SL improves chances by speeding up machines- tho it could just be coincidence)

Thank you both I'll bump it up to something weird like 81 next time. Maybe 83. That has a ring to it. Ha! My urgency comes and goes thru out the day. There are some days I don't even bother, too.

Hi Prudence, thank you for the response and tip to RaeLeeh's posts- I picked the 72 previously because I had read her posts lol. I don't know what is going on. I'll try again another day- I did have a home on Emerson Lake for six weeks but got itchy to move on- just taking longer to get another one.

Hi all- I have been using the autorefresh- and I have it set for 72 seconds. I have tried using the last two days and suddenly tonight- it's giving me the message (after playing the sound that indicates it found "bellisseria") that I've exhausted my refresh attempts? And it doesn't indicate that it found the search term. It's done this twice now in the last hour. Is this happening to others? Or am I just lucky enough to have this weirdness happening to me....

Oh mine are stupendous gas creators. When we brought the first one home, we drove to another state to get him- and about halfway back home we'd already pulled over to make sure he wasn't ill or had worms.... His sidekick is no better lol. But I love them with my whole heart.

I don't use security orbs (when living on Bellisseria). I don't use ban lines (when living on old mainland). I do make use of the ban list. I have a few names that automatically get added on as soon as I move into a new spot- out of habit and desire to have zero interaction with said banned names. But as to why would anyone need a security system? Well, perhaps because if like me (if I so chose to do so)- SL monies are monies I spend for my entertainment, that I chose to not spend on other things. Why should someone else feel entitled to make use of my private pixel home I pay for if I do not want to share? The only time it bugs me is when I am home, and if someone opts to just TP right on over. That gets on my nerves. Are they going to just walk up to a random house in the real world and walk on in?

Well that's interesting and I stand corrected. Not having anyone on my ban list isn't generally problem though I have an itchy trigger finger. 😆

I've encountered several homes neonish creamy pink Palm trees on many of my wanderings thru Belli. Definitely attention getters. No idea if they adhear to theme or not. I just blacklist eyesores.

Like other said there are some amazing designers out there who give away completely free things. My favorite just happens to be the shop named after a fruit- I don't know if we're allowed to name names or not. But I tend to go with the less stylish things and just go with basic components like cardigans and jeans. and one idea if you do want to build on your inventory is to go into the marketplace and look in the gatcha listings. Looooooots of things there for the body that you chose under 10L. Same for hair. Absolutely nothing wrong with wearing the same thing for even the life of your avatar. For me I like to buy shoes and wigs. I was graced with exceptionally large wide feet that can only fit into men's sneakers. And my hair is thin and dry as straw so it's always bound up on the top of my head. Second Life allows me to have big bouncy peg Bundy hair and wear fancy stripper heels and cutesy tennis shoes. 😍

I've only left for an extended period once (6 months) and I did give away my lindens. I just gave them to one person though- there weren't that many of them (tho everything is subjective) less than 1k. 10 Lindens for an upload fee can seem like a small treasure when you're broke (been there!). I agree the relay for Life is also a great idea for a recipient as well....

I just went wandering around tonight- and found an area I really liked called Davenport- I think it's the bridge- I love bridges.

@Faye Feldragonne My best guy friend only has access to SL via lumiya on a tablet. He has cleared his cache. Now he can not use his inventory and he does not see animations on his screen. Your copy of Lumiya is working likely because you have not cleared your cache. If you were to do so, or to delete and reinstall a clean copy- your animations would no longer work. To quote from a conversation I had with someone in the group (their words not mine, as I am not techy): People who experience full functionality, it's because the animations and so forth are cached. Lumiya cannot communicate with the asset server at all On the technical side, the reason this happened is simple. LL stated they would be turning off some old APIs connected to inventory retrieval. Most viewers switched to the newer APIs. Lumiya and Singularity didn't, so those two viewers both broke down In laymans terms, Lumiya itself is no longer compatible with the LL inventory server **and so far as it being "defunct" as I put it- is because no one has heard from the developer for months (at least in terms of Lumiya) - she's not logged in since March 18th this year. Lumiya is not open source, so no one can just go in and tinker with it. Someone would have to create their own android viewer from the ground up- her code is not accessible- you'll also notice that lumiya was removed from google play- tho the reasons for that i'm not totally sure on unless the viewer no longer met google parameters- it was removed from the 3rd party viewer listing in the linden labs wiki in 2018 or earlier.
