I logged in with an alt and it feels like I jumped into a vat full of people. Tried reposting a few giveaways but there’s too many now. I’ll try to follow people and see if it’s useful.

reposting is a scourge of social media, and one of the reasons I don't participate... can't stand scrolling and seeing the same thing appearing to be posted multiple times.

I don't mind reposts when they are used to highlight interesting content (or on Twitter, good porn lol), but to just spam out some lame giveaway or contest, yeah, they are a scourge. Primfeed needs to get a handle on it sooner rather than later. I know it is borne out of a blogging platform anyway but its success or failure will not hinge on bloggers.

I'll be watching how it goes over the next couple of months.

I like the picture threads here. There is some variety in the focus of threads; sailing, landscapes, a couple of looks threads... My Flickr is restricted as I use a free account. But most of what I post here and there is G and M. So the A and A+ will be interesting. For the A and A+ I use Slushe, which is mostly high end rendering of virtual people... 3D models. Definitely XXX rated. Not safe for viewing within the same state as your workplace... I see those and I am seriously pushed to up my game.

So we'll see where Primfeed goes with their A+.

I hope they add a way to "ignore user" from a post (unlike the Forum, which requires going to your Profile, etc.).

That way, when you see any post where someone shared an advertisement, you can just "ignore all" by that user!

UX design and overall features that I personally would like changes on.  I have a word document I'm working on. If I had Miro I'd be having fun!

1.      Account Types:  Allow the person opening the account to define whether their account is  Merchant, Blogger, Photographer.

2.      Groups:  Allow individuals the ability to create Groups similar to Flickr or Repositories for Photos.  Both Personal so you can store liked images to go back to (similar to Flickr Faves).

3.      Tags:  You should be able to Tag  in the photo. Both with properties of the photo and with people/other accounts.

4.      Filterable Home  Tab:

a.      Account Type  = Allow me as the end user to default my Home Page to either just  Photographers I follow or a combination of Merchant and/or Blogger. Basically giving me as the consumer the choice of what I want to see today. Maybe I want to catch up on Bloggers today, but maybe tomorrow it’s stores.

b.      Groups = Similar to Flickr you should be able to create a group where you can store photos.  If I select Groups, then the only thing that should appear in the feed are the “Account Types images I have selected that are in the Groups that I am defining here”

c.      Tags =

5.      Home Tab should also have a redesign for Reblogs.

6.      Filterable Discovery:

a.      Account Type =  “”

b.      Groups = “”

c.      Tags = “”

7.      Gallery should have filters:

a.      Account Type = “”

b.      Groups = “”

c.      Tags = “”

8.      Gallery should be redesigned to change between Plurk-like to Cascade/Flickr like image posting.

9.      Gallery should allow you the ability of liking, reblogging, etc, without opening the image up to full size.

1.      Allow Private Messaging(?)

2.      You should be able to both reply to comments in public or private.

1.      Light Mode/Dark Mode website configuration.

1.      Ability to Mute/Block someone from your feed.

I just logged in there with my alt, and if you use the Gallery page instead of Discovery, there won't be any giveaway ad reposts visible. There are no text posts there, though, only photos. I'm sure they will implement the requested features in the future if the project is successful.

For now, it looks like a promising alternative for those who don't like Flickr, Facebook, X/Twitter, etc. for one reason or another. Especially for those who are into fashion, blogging, and giveaways, and it's unreasonable to expect them to stop using it as they want to. Honestly, the whole platform seems to be built around blogging and sl stores. I'd still love some hashtags or categories to be added, so everyone could see whatever they are interested in on their feed. And groups and favorites too! It's pretty bare-bones at the moment.

I have an idea! We could post about the official Forum over on PrimFeed, maybe we will get some new people over here!

All our talk about PrimFeed got people here checking it out over there.

It works both ways!!

ETA: After scrolling through PrimFeed, and seeing what is posted there (the pictures), maybe we DON'T want them over here..! (At least they'd mostly be in the Adult subform, and we could laugh at the others..)

Yes. As of right now 13 of the first 15 posts in my feed are reposts. This is feeling increasingly pointless.

The ability to filter by commercial/non-commercial posts would probably be a good thing. I'm sure there's plenty of sl shoppers who don't wish to see all of the selfies and landscapes either.

I mean it is kind of pointless to demand new features when it's just released. 😁 They have a feedback forum for that. Designers are incentivized to attract as many followers as possible for a new platform, so it's bound to happen. If it's really that unbearable, you can always get back to it later, when everything calms down, or the website is updated.  No, I'm not one of those spammers (yet lol, some of the giveaways are quite tempting).

My first impression is lack of FAQs. How big should the profile banner be? Do I have a restriction on number of images as a basic account? Can I make links clickable in my profile? Why don't my social media links show on my profile? Why does my Bluesky link keep deleting?

There's not a link to the feedback sections when you're logged into the site. I ended up Googling to see that existed, but I couldn't find a basic help section.

Other than that, it looks like a fairly typical social media layout. Whether people will actually use it more than Bluesky, we'll see.

I'm not really "demanding" new features; I'm merely noting that the platform is, at the moment, increasingly looking like one that I am not going to find useful or enjoyable to use.

I do get (as I've noted above) that much of the primary push for Primfeed has been from bloggers unhappy with their treatment by Flickr -- and given the site creator's association with two commercially-oriented software apps (EasyBloggers and EasySubscribers), it's not surprising that this should be a focus. And there will be lots of people who are looking for that kind of functionality. But I'm not one of them.

I'll hang around and see how this develops, for sure, though. We'll see what happens.

I think in the Primfeed terms of service it says something about how artwork must be 'serious' with no humorous pictures, or words to that effect. That seems very odd. Yesterday I kept seeing links to the TOS but today I can't find any links!

I used to use a photo site for SL (and other virtual worlds) called Koinup, which was quite good. As the number of users declined, one or two prolific posters dominated that site, and later it became infiltrated by spammers posting ads that were nothing to do with virtual worlds. I also used Snapzilla for a while. Both those sites closed down. I can't help wondering what, if anything, Primfeed has got going for it that those sites didn't have.

So.  Just joined this.  Timing was great, as recently got 'put in Flickr Jail' for showing too much of my toosh.  And that really peed me off.  Wasn't like I was waving my you know what in the air.  it was a little bit of bottom!!!

BUT. I do hope they separate the Gallery feeds to just SL pictures, without the advert posts.  Or limit the number of advert posts appearing in the gallery, as this soon will just become a wall of posters and adverts.

I also wish you could like a picture direct from the gallery, rather than having to open it first.

I don't think it should be a focus. I think this site has great potential, but putting the focus on one group alone could help destroying all of that potential. There's the danger that this site becomes just another site with the sole purpose of info posted about shopping events and discounts while it could be so much more.

In the forum, hold your mouse over the person's pic in the left column of a post, and a floater pops up. You can ignore the person there.

I don't mind seeing a reasonable amount of commercial posts since I also shop in SL. Just NOBODY wants to see this giveaway spam except for the giveaway hunters and the store owner. I'm usually not around social media a lot and personally see it close to a thing like an exploit in a game. Everyone else who gets to see this spam in 90% of the posts has a bad experience.

It certainly isn't 😆 (I had to investigate).

Reminds me of Renderotica.
