At 9:26am PST (SLT), the instant buy rate gives L$244 for US$1

I am unable to find a chart for this metric, but it appears that inflation of the Linden is less than the greenback.

Yeah, I don't see any real chance this little charade will have an effect on the exchange rate, one way or another. For one thing, even if it got big, there's no particular L$ source specific to the "casino", so in the macro scheme of things if SocialCasino Linden didn't burn his L$s and instead snuck off and dumped them all on the LindeX spot market, the effect should be momentary at most.

The chart I know about is "Show:" "all" on the LindeX Market Data page which covers like eighteen years of data and looks like this:
Screenshot2023-05-12140747.png.662b00665d6d2449d26545d22c9c4897.png

I've never seen much signal in the occasional target adjustments. Every five years Supply needs a new pair of shoes?

Something that is possible in the speculative sense is a Linden Whale wanted "out" and this way instead of said "whale" dumping all at once, SocialCasino Linden could cash out slowly.

I think it's a new burn mechanism of some kind but I am not knowledgeable about the way it works.  If this is a burn mechanism it would have a way to keep track.

Well, I think they are doing 'something', it's just not clear what it is yet.  I doubt very many residents would buy these tokens for those prices when the only option for playing with the tokens is that you lose.

Your experience explains why there are no employees at Helios. They'd have to deal with customers asking all those tedious questions, and *gasp* complaints!

I think it's a behavioral research experiment, so, all I am going to do there is search for the restroom and attempt to sit on the statuary.

You actually are probably right!

GamTalk, one of two of the only mentions regarding help for gambling addiction is owned and managed by the same person who owns and runs GamGard, a gambling research center.

We were extremely curious why Lindens mentioned GamTalk, as there's so many other more significant gambling addiction services and came across the connection but weren't able to until today.

Quote

In 2007, he introduced Gamgard, his first significant contribution to responsible gambling innovation.

Gamgard is a responsible game design tool that assesses whether a game will be risky to vulnerable players.

Once a game reveals itself as a potential problem, Gamgard advises on ways to tweak play and reduce the risk before it becomes real one. The tool is used by close to 60 gambling companies in 27 countries.

Next, in 2008, Dr. Wood launched GamTalk, a free online support service for gambling-related issues.

Linden Lab Research is not only selling us out as lab rats.. But profiting off us and gambling addicts in the process.

Somehow, I suspect this ends badly.

Yeah, it's..cheesy (pun intended).

I doubt LL is collecting all our data, and publishing or selling it..oopsie!

Now I have visions of LL wandering around in a trench coat, trying to sell my data to random people.

I will gamble in style today! 1683971548611.thumb.jpg.729981dbc8be0ef7f55060573cc3dc12.jpg

I came back today to see if the tokens stack so far they do ...do not know if daily tokens stack tho! So maybe at least people are able to collect them for a while?

I spent there longer than wanted yesterday because the was a nice tiny playing also Black Jack, and while I was there I think at least 3 people asked something similar to "Where can I trade tokens into $L?" so they are NOT making this clear enough!

**although you can never make anything clear enough so everyone gets it tho lol but I found he quota rather high!

Which tokens, so far, stack, if not the daily tokens? I've been sending some alts in to collect 120 more tokens daily so they can role-play high rollers at the casino's Grand Opening (there must be one coming, right? this fizzled sparkler can't be all it gets, can it?), and so far they accumulated three days worth on top of the starter batch.

Re the "Where can I trade tokens into $L?" question, not surprising it would arise, a cash-out option would seem to be implied by the "Casino" label and the fact the devices aren't free to play. But I'm imagining consultation with counsel: "What are they gonna do? Sue us for US$ 44 ? Or class-action us for US$ 440? Go ahead and play your little 'Casino' game, see if I care!"

I thought maybe the 500 starter tokens are handled differently than the 120 daily ones, I wouldn't be too surprised if the daily ones just resetted daily...knowing LL XD that's what I meant

It would be cool if you could that trick with tokens, like you can do with RL coins, where you can close your arm, stack them on your elbow, open your arm quickly and catch the stack without it falling apart..

The No Grand Opening nor advertisement along with the pay-to-lose Casino idea, are the reasons I think there is something else going on here.

It's like a clue game, although I think Qie is on to something with the burn idea, but that's still only a possibility.

The problem is if people stumble in there and see it's a Casino, they may just assume you can win.  Which is a very sad predicament.

Are there even "FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY" signs all over? I am losing it lol!
