We do have more houseboats coming soon!  You can always take a Traditional home today, they are still available, and then switch later as more houseboat supply becomes available.

If we choose a traditional house, when the houseboat is available, can we change it quickly or do we have to wait 24 hours? because if we have to wait 24 hours in the exchange we will lose the opportunity to change the house because they end quickly. So it is not recommended to stay with the traditional house in what is expected by new houses.

There don't seem to be any options even for the traditional houses now...

Honestly, I've been on less and less and wondering about cancelling my subscription... I figured though that the new houseboats and a busy region might make things more interesting for a while. Guess I was wrong. I'll see what happens but I don't have the goddam time to sit pressing refresh on a webpage...

Exactly. They are supposed to have enough capacity to give us what they offer us. Because if he had known that there were no houses available, he would not have paid the premium. I feel like they cheated me.

What's that supposed to mean?  Perhaps message me so you can enlighten me.

LL is not renowned for 'fast'.  Nor for predictable timescales.

I see you have run out of all the new houses now.

So new batch later today?  Tomorrow?  Next week?

I know the answer: 'when we are ready'.

That's what it means.

Well. I finally got a trad... I don;t like it... like.. at all... but it's a place to rez until they sort it out.

I do not want to occupy land because if there is a boat house available, I can not change it in 24 hours. Better I stay without enjoying my premium account in what house boat available.

Merged, because we do not need multiple threads on the same topic.

That said, there are many, many other reasons to have a premium account.  A houseboat, or any Linden Home (old or new) for that matter are just one feature besides weekly stipends, Live Chat customer support, increased group limits, increased offline IM limits, premium gifts, exclusive region access rights, etc.

I know but honestly if I had known that there were no boat houses available and that they were not going to guarantee me one, I would not have paid for it was the only thing I wanted.

With all due respect Patch, most of those 'other reasons' won't convert non-premium to premium.  They never have done in the past.  I went premium to own a Mainland parcel long ago.  I'd like to have a waterfront parcel, but the prices to buy or rent are beyond my budget.

It would be interesting to know how many of the new homes caused new premium accounts.  Because we need more premium members to keep you guys in business.  I know at least one guy who went premium to get one, and then found they had all gone.  And ya, the old ones suck.

If at least they put us on the list and we separated the houses we want, it is good to continue paying because they would be guaranteeing what we want. It is just for those who pay only for that option.

There were never ever any guarantees with the older Linden Homes that you would get the exact style that you wanted - whether it be an Oriental one or a Hobbit one or something more traditional.  That has not changed.  Your Premium membership offers you a Linden Home and there are some of those available - they are just the older ones for now.

If you manage to get a Traditional home now/soon, when the release the next batch of Homes and Houseboats, you will be able to immediately Abandon your current home and get something different.  You only have to wait 24 hours if you Abandon 5 places trying to get different locations.

I would not have abandoned my home had I known there were no houseboats available. Did I miss something? Was there some way I could have determined that there were no houseboats available before abandoning?

my same situation They do not warn that there are no available houses nor do they say how long there will be houses available. I think it's very irresponsible on behalf of LL. Right now I do not have any house or boat house, nor the traditional one for abandoning it. I'm on the street lol.

Unfortunately, even if the web page showed if there were currently homes, by the time you logged in and did the Abandon and got back to the web page, someone else could have nabbed the last one.

The only way around it is if LL could give an option on the web page to "change homes" with a notice that it will automatically cause an abandon of the existing property, combined with being able to see if there are some available for the type you want.  Then you could click a final OK button and in the background it swaps your ownership.

Exactly why I do not have any home for when there is a boat house available only select it and that's it. Not having to leave and then select.

I am more than a little annoyed about this -- I actually got a docking slip as soon as I got home from work, but when I got in world, there was no houseboat!  Nothing I did made one materialize, so I opened a ticket that didn't get an answer.  So I abandoned it, and the houseboat option was gone.

UPDATE:  I get a stock answer on the support ticket telling me to be patient:

Thank you for contacting Second Life Support. In order to give your case the best attention possible, we have escalated it to a specialist to handle your issue.

Please be patient while the specialist reviews this matter. Unfortunately, since you've abandoned the plot, the ticket doesn't do you any good anyway now.  It is someone's else issue to deal with.

Someone else also abandoned a Houseboat right when I was refreshing my LL Homes page - I snagged it. It's not this one, but even if it were I'd hang onto it because the demand right now is *way* greater than supply.

There is a trick to getting a traditional house. But you can not have any land for it to work. You must refresh the page again and again until you automatically get one or the other. I did it about 5 thousand times and out of those 5 thousand I got a maximum of 6 traditional houses, but I did not choose them because I wanted the house boat. But I gave up and I will stay with the traditional in what enlarge the continent. Luck
