I like that you are looking to revitalize SL but a lot of the suggestions are not our responsibility to carry out. Linden Lab won't sell less sims or decrease tier. It is their bread and butter along with SL Marketplace fees and upload fees. With the upcoming virtual servers sitting in the cloud, islands will become cheaper to set up and maintain for LL. If LL keeps prices the same they will increase profitability.

As for banks, years ago there were banks and due to a lack of regulation and oversight by LL you had people pretending to be bankers and residents lost real money. News articles were written up about it at the time and can still be found probably.

Unfortunately there isn't a good enough reporting standard of financials for companies to make that viable.  But I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about banks.  Reading the TOS (yeah, I actually did that..fun stuff) there's a rule against collecting or paying interest.

That's nice. Two things; Thirteen year olds are not allowed on the grid and outside of a private 'residence' within SL, any activity even remotely resembling what you've used as an example is restricted to Adult rated sims/parcels.

Seems you rather missed the entire point so I'll spell it out for you: If you see such an activity outside of a private 'residence' or an Adult rated sim/parcel, you send in an Abuse Report. If you are not actively searching such things out, no they are not quite so easily found.

oh.  abuse reports are time machines that prevent people from seeing the illegal thing?  awesome.  THAT is what they should monetize.  Time traveling.

I'm reminded of the lawsuit some fool filed against the makers of Sims 2, for distributing digital porn in a PG game...

He used a config code exploit to disable the games built in censor blur, downloaded 'non pg replacement skins from a third party sims 2 modding site, and a 'stay naked hack' before taking screen grabs of the 'depraved filth' he so carefully staged, then he sued EA/Maxis for $1,000,000.

Needless to say, he didn't win...

Look, I know people come here to do the fantasy things they can't do on the other side of the keyboard.  What I don't know is why anyone who thinks they shouldn't do it in front of kids is a 'moral crusader'.  I know the mean old Christians make your feels hurt, but come on.

Social Island is a No Build sim so unless they were using script only animation override HUDs, you're treating text the exact same way you'd treat everything else.

That is not even getting into the fact that if such a thing actually transpired then the proper response has already been outlined for you here. See here's the thing; Linden Lab can't do anything if they never get a Report.

Since you edited this to add in a bit more ...

'Kids' are not allowed onto SL. Teenagers sixteen and older are however their experience is a bit more limited/controlled. Beyond that what your kid sees on the screen of your computer is in your hands, know what is appropriate to use when they are around and what is not and plan accordingly.
