Marianne Little
I have done a new thing, and pulled out an old house from my inventory. Bought in 2010, the Chatham Cottage is still one of my favorite layouts. Of course it's not mesh, and heavy LI. But now I was able to change windows and doors, plus taking off prims and stretch the others. The total LI of the new windows is 7, while the old prim windows had 5 each. It was built when 10x10 was the max size. Of course I didn't have the original textures, so I replaced them with similar ones. I did not like the heavy shadowing in the original house. As you can see, the super dark edges made "Stripes" across the house. I tried to make the Kamasutra stone carving in the bathroom PG.... I have two texture packs that I use in almost every house I lived in. The Empire brick and concrete walls, and Insight Designs coastal painted wood walls. The bathroom is textures in the first, and the kitchen/dining room in the other one.
Iyoba Tarantal
I have been making plants i n Second Life for ages. They are easy. They are fun. They are special because they are one of three good reasons I have for keeping land. The others are breedables and a Zooby baby. I'd rather spend time in the garden than in the house any day of the week. The first picture is of borage which dates from 2009/2010. I still like it because there aren't that many blue flowers. There are jicamas (they date from around 2013). You can't grow them in Georgia or further north. They are a tropical plant and will only produce their edible roots in a very warm climate. Last, we have one of my Ozimal rabbits, Cunegonde, among the chocolate nasturtiums (Created this year!). I love the detail that goes into plants. I have more plants than I can rezz these days, but still dream of making more.

ForrestChild
So I paid a visit to The Arcade and pick up these from the (moss&mink) Summer of 69 Gacha Deckchairs and umbrellas are commons. The pool itself and the Cabana are both rares Created the decking area around the pool by just using a hollowed out square prim. Which I textured, then just slotted the pool into position.
ForrestChild
I added some privacy trees. I don't strictly need them as I don't have any sex furniture or stuff like that, but they make the view nicer

It's a post-apocalyptic themed dairy farm on a 4096sq.m. parcel. For reference to non-landowners, that is a square the size of a maxed out prim, 64m by 64m. I designed the whole place as a skybox so I don't have to worry too much about what my neighbors are doing. Here's the yard! A helpful Handy robot floats around the yard and just outside the gate. Apart from the gate, the yard is surrounded on all sides by buildings. The doors on each building lead to another part of my home. There's the dairy barn itself, which has a door in the back that leads to... ...a milk bar/lounge! I put a lot of furniture in here with cuddle and sitting poses, made it a place where I can just hang out with a lot of friends. Heading back to the yard, one of the buildings is the obligatory grungy restroom that seems to be a staple of so many places in SL. No idea why that video camera is there. Another building in the yard is a trailer home which I've converted into a lovely bedroom. There's more, too, but I'm running out of picture space for this post! I really like the look and feel of that place - would love to drop by sometime - add me inworld (virtualnsanity)

Marianne Little
I like how the ice pond turned out. It is much larger, and I keep adding things all the time. And this little corner in the backyard: I think it turned out well.... Finding new things to add all the time. Soon, I start on the inside. This is the kitchen now: It shall be totally different, but the same cabinets. Edited November 18, 2017 by Marianne Little
