  1. Next time I TP into an event, I'm going to skip the 'Fly upon TP' setting and just drop in and start moving in every outward circles
  2. Back quite a few years ago, we used to joke about this quite a bit - when the servers were constantly going down.
  3. His romantic offer to me was at roughly 2:00 am my time and I most definitely was not inworld to chit-chat at that hour. When I got inworld and got the message - roughly 8:00 pm that evening, I didn't bother.
  4. This This one comes with sound: https://threatbutt.com/map/ And this one has a globe you can spin around: https://cybermap.kaspersky.com/
  5. DDoS attacks can't actually damage a server
  6. Now, you know that if they are dealing with more DDoS stuff, then they can't just "fix the logins".
  7. If it is still DDoS attacks, like last Sunday was, then there is not much that can be "fixed". I imagine they are doing their best. Typically, with DDoS, keeping your servers up is sort of like playing Whack-a-Mole.
  8. I'm officially jealous. I didn't get TWO. ?
  9. That suxx. How the heck am I supposed to demo a head and body and skin all together to see if I can even get the look I want. ☹️
  10. They posted a blog about the Sunday downtime being DDoS. Since everything since then has behaved the same, we've been going under the assumption that all the later ones have also been DDoS attacks. Yep, just look at all the irate people posting on the forums each time it goes down. Here's a different view: https://threatmap.fortiguard.com/ Some are better equipped to handle it than others. It takes a lot of money to have enough equipment to handle an attack - and that means a larger company than what LL is.
  11. This is not really a "fix it" thing. LL has been dealing with DDoS attacks. If you aren't sure what that is or how difficult is is to prevent, Google will help.
  12. @Dakota Linden - Since you popped in, can you clarify that the "delete old MP" data is a combination of BOTH 'merchant inactive for 5 years' AND 'item not purchased for 2 years'. Or is it an "either or" situation? The blog post sounds like a BOTH, but wanted to be sure.
  13. This part actually got me curious (the nerd part of me) because some of my timestamps didn't originally make sense to me, so I used an alt to send me some IMs while I was offline and online. I figured out the following: When I'm online, the timestamps in the IM and Chat windows always show SLT. When I'm offline and someone sends me an IM, there are quite a few times involved: My alt sent me a message at 11:22 local time, 10:22 SLT. The email was timestamp 11:23 - so one minute later - but the time in the email was 17:22, which would be the GMT time associated with the 11:22/10:22 am time. When I logged in at 11:45 local time, 10:45 SLT, the timestamp on the message showed 10:45 SLT (i.e. current SLT time), but said it was saved at 11:22, which was the local time of the IM. Talk about some inconsistency in timestamps. Anyway, it means that my IM actually came to me at 00:48 SLT, which looks like the same time as your IM window. So basically this person apparently slammed us all with the same IM within seconds of each. Apparently he wanted to hedge his bets. I wonder what he would have done if many of us were online at the time and all said 'yes, come to me'. I'm truly laughing just thinking about it.
  14. Based on my experience, that is how a lot of people view the partnership tag anyway. Maybe what they really need is one that says Closed Relationship.
  15. I'd advise googling what a DDoS actually involves and how to mitigate it. You'll see that it is not such an easy thing, even for the best tech companies. Side note - it has not been CONSTANT since Sunday -- i.e. "it's non stop throughout the day and night since Sunday" is flat out false. Just monitoring the SL online counts will prove that wrong.
  16. My post shows the timestamps. You haven't posted any to prove that you were first. How do we know it wasn't me and since I was offline and didn't respond, he then went on to others.
  17. Googling shows that there are a few ways, but none seem very easy - i.e. quite a few steps involved. I always save my SL photos to my computer before uploading to Flickr anyway. Often I will crop photos or sometimes fix lighting a bit, but mostly I want the photos saved to my computer as a backup. In this case, if I did not have a Pro account, I still wouldn't need to worry about downloading my pics before they deleted them because I already have them all. Ditto, if I ever decide to leave Flickr.
  18. LOL - I logged in this evening (for a brief 5 minutes before the latest DDoS took me out) and had this wonderful IM waiting, with a Friendship offer. Needless to say, I declined said friendship request and didn't bother to answer the IM. I wonder how often that works for him.
