  1. They have definitely been busy. Those sims are getting full.
  2. Yeah, I might put on one of my more casual Christmas outfits. I have a few that I haven't worn yet. Probably depends on whether I can get in the mood to dig through inventory for a nice formal or go shopping for one, between now and then - and assuming I can find one that is fairly CI friendly.
  3. Pretty much everyone with connection or system issues swears that it is not their system or internet connection. SL was fine for me all weekend. Best I can tell, based on forum threads, not many people were having issues over the weekend. You have still not provided the requested information, so anyone's ideas would just be wild guesses. Start the viewer BUT DO NOT LOG IN. Click 'Help' in the top menu, then click "About Second Life". Click the "Copy to clipboard" button at the bottom of the new window. Paste the contents into this thread. If you do not want to do that, then there is nothing we can do.
  4. The 'adjoining' land isn't required criteria anymore - though it might be again in the future. When they bumped our tier from 512 to 1024, they started selling abandoned parcels to just about anyone that requested one. I think it is part of their goal of increasing Premium members and Mainland ownership. I sort of remember folks here in the forums saying that it was taking typically 5-7 days to process those request tickets, as Support was getting flooded with requests. That may have died down a bit now, so they might process a bit quicker these days.
  5. My kids are due to arrive Friday evening, the 21st and I think they are staying until Sunday evening before driving up to their dad's -- he has their younger siblings for Xmas day this year, so they will do the first part of the week with him. They'll then come back to do Xmas with us late that week. They may be heading out for a few hours midday on Sat. to meet some old friends for lunch. If they do, that will let me pop over to your shindig for a bit.
  6. LOL - looks like the referenced post got zapped, leaving your post looking like the necro.
  7. I truly laughed out loud when I read that article a few weeks ago. ^^ Yes, yes, yes - me too
  8. I kinda like this idea, though if I did this I'd need to set my pose stand close by, since almost all of my unpacking is done with me on the pose stand so that I can try things on. And of course, I need my Maitreya HUD working when I try things on, thus the pose stand needs to be on script-enabled land. I have had some items deliver individual pieces directly from the vendor, which is totally messed up. I then end up with each item in its specific folder type - system layer things in Clothing, the LM in Landmarks, a notecard or many in Notecards, the various object pieces in Objects, etc... I never understood why that happens, but it is a royal PITA -- thank goodness for the Recent inventory tab on those occasions. If I'm unpacking at home, I will always rez the item, whether it says to wear, add, or anything else -- unless it specifically says HUD. Even it it auto-unpacks - which I hate - I will still check the package because much of the time those scripts will never unpack more than one no-copy item automatically. If I'm opening a package somewhere other than home, my preference is for it to be a HUD. It is isn't a HUD, then I want a simple box that doesn't have any of those dorky animations, especially since they sometimes stick after said item is detached and then I have to clear the animation.
  9. I created a Facebook account for Lil a while back because a few of my store groups were doing giveaways if you Liked and Shared their store post -- and I sure as hell am not doing that under my RL Facebook account. Anyway, KraftWork just did a giveaway on their one of their latest creations and I won one of the 5 sets they handed out. It is a nice little cabin (versions w/ and w/out snow), furnished with a bed, side tables, and wall lamps. Creating that stupid FB account and doing the misc Likes/Shares finally paid off.
  10. In Firestorm, legacy profile window shows "Born:". The SL web profiles show "Second Life Birthdate".
  11. Did you get this figured out? A detach / re-attach fixed it for me. I had the same issue with the first box - it didn't register until I re-attached the HUD.
  12. I can do 15th, 16th, or 23rd - won't be able to do the 22nd Now I gotta figure out a formal outfit. Haven't worn one of those in ages.
  13. I'm highly confused as to how anyone could possibly know your RL age based on your SL account age. Regardless of account age, anyone on the grid **should** be at least 18 (unless they are on one of those special education sims). How I could possibly figure out anything else about their age is beyond me. I'm more likely to guess someone's RL age range based on the way they write and their viewpoint on various topics.
  14. Or, more likely, it was an accidentally result (i.e. screw up) of some other change they made. I never thought the 'relevance' sort was accurate - never really understood what "they" considered relevant. If I do a search, I should only get items with my search words in either the Title, Description, or Keywords, which means all results should be relevant (though search is terribly broken right now). Thus I always sort by either price or new, depending on what I'm looking for.
  15. What I'm getting when I do a "Search this store" is that the correct contents matching my search only for that store is what gets displayed on the page and per the left side, I am still at just that store, but for the tabs at the top the "Items" tab becomes the one highlighted when the search results are displayed. So if I want to search the store again for another phrase, I have to re-click 'Search this store'. It didn't used to do that. It used to stay on the 'Search this store' tab. If I don't notice that it shifted to the "Items" tab and just enter a new search term, then I end up searching all of MP again rather than just the store I was at.
  16. Ice Capades - sounds neat. Where will this be? I love dance shows and plays and such in SL.
  17. They have sure had a helluva time with this one.
  18. You should post in the Wanted section then: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/forum/313-wanted/
  19. MOoH! is probably one of the best 'bang for buck' groups - it costs L$100 to join but every month you get an outfit of some sort and a L$150 gift card and can join in a monthly raffle for a L$500 gift card (I won that one my first month in the group). There are quite a few items in the store that cost less than the L$150. Scandalize does have a huge wall of gifts and they do lots of in-store hunts where you can nab many items for L$1 each -- group cost is L$100. No.Match costs L$50, but they have lots and lots and lots of old hair gifts still available and you get a new one every month or so, sometimes more frequently. Baby Monkey's group fee is only L$20 and she has cute items - lots of her previous group gifts are still available. Belle Epoque has super cute items and the group join is only L$10. Ellnique Designs is free to join and puts out a group gift (or two) every month and has many of them still available in the store. Virtual Diva is free to join and there are lots of past group gifts still out. I.M. Collection is currently L$75 to join - lots of group gifts still available on the wall. Womenstuff costs L$50 to join, but at their main location there is a huge wall full of gifts. Also, join TeleportHub.com group -- L$10 - lots of stores give a gift for that group -- lots of notices in this group, so you might want to turn those off and just check it periodically. Additionally, a variety of stores will also give decent gifts to many of the 'freebie' groups like 'Fabulously Free in SL', 'Third life [ Frees, Gifts, & Hunts]', 'SL frees &b offers', 'Inside your inventory', and such. Since almost all of those groups are free, I simply join them when I find a gift that I want and then immediately leave the group. If you stay in any of those groups, again there are lots of notices so you might want to turn notices off.
  20. How much memory are you talking about? I was logged in via Firestorm all day yesterday (about 15 hours total), bopping all over the grid to hit tons of stores for the sales, and my memory usage was showing roughly 2 GB when I shut things down last night.
  21. Unlimited would actually allow some griefer to provide more than your system can handle, resulting in a fried GPU.
