  1. I wish that the Holiday Season really meant everyone was going to get a holiday, put their feet up for a while, have some egg nog or something equally festive in whichever part of the world they live.
  2. Peeve: That people in Second Life can be so creative but they would rather create something like that. My real life face has now set permanently into a sucking lemons face. Great!
  3. You might actually find some great workarounds with all your experimentation that will benefit other people wishing to cross dress. I mean, there are plenty of people in world that do this already, but I think they tend to change their body shape rather than try to make what's available fit their regular male/female avatar.
  4. Things can only get better from here onwards, Sid. Peeve: That abscesses always seem to form in the most inaccessible and inconvenient of places. Peeve: That people are always happy to receive my money but not supply the goods in a timely manner (not SL of course where it is all instant in that respect, so that's a pet delight really, instant gratification.)
  5. Someone has one currently listed for sale on ebay with a bizarre price tag on it of Canadian $311.50 (£183.81 UK equivalent), after knocking 11% off the original price, "some fading from wear, small hole in armpit".
  6. Weirdos gonna weird! That peeves me too. They've probably found you in a group listing, see you're online, feeling a bit horny, and decided to send a random IM. Sending 10 or 20 similar IMs out, they probably get 9 or 19 responses like yours of total disgust, but might drop lucky and someone takes it as a compliment and hooks up with them.
  7. I totally agree with you. AI, as we all know, is only as good as whatever has been programmed into it, and it would make sense to make a more demure image. I guess if we all were using the same software, we'd start to see more similarities, like there was that fun software a couple of years ago (Toon Me) where you'd upload a photo of your avatar (or real life self), and be given four different cartoon versions. It all seems very clever, and must have taken plenty of man (woman/person) hours to program. It's hard to go back into Second Life itself and see myself without all the make-up, as it were, after creating an AI representation of my avatar.
  8. Very "Bridgerton" and I agree with Spirit wholeheartedly. Very hard to take your eyes away from such a stunning work of art.
  9. This one is my favourite. Those eyes are like liquid, and just the combination of the colours is causing dopamine to be released in my brain.
  10. There are memorials all over Second Life that I have stumbled across from time to time. Somewhere among the sailing sims near to Marmedunc (can't exactly remember where) there is a memorial, and I am sure there must be a permanent memorial in world for our recently departed CEO Ebbe Linden aka Ebbe Altberg, who passed rather young at 57 (a temporary one was put on one of the SLB sims). Ceremonies take place in world, floating candles are lit, everyone makes a mark on someone else, and I think it's very touching to show respect and not walk on graves, even in a virtual world. We just never know where some people have gone, but it would only be those without empathy that would pooh-pooh these memorials.
  11. ok I am only responsible for what I say, not for how you choose to take it. You were the one that brought up the word "scam". Does that not mean therefore there would be a need for a lawsuit? If Linden Lab or anyone else were attempting to mislead and defraud and scam people?
  12. I just meddled where I didn't ought to have meddled - as usual! - and ended up just making her more angry. She obviously has something else going on and yes, something very probably was lost in translation. Someone else started a new thread about AI pictures, but it hasn't proven very popular just yet. We are an eclectic bunch here on the forums, that's for sure. We're bound to have little clashes from time to time.
  13. No, I'm not actually. I'm just a basement-dwelling pleb, obviously. I'm one of those customers who read about the new 2048 Premium Plus homes and looked into the pros and cons of same, including the likelihood of there being limited availability in the early stages of release. I chose not to take the gamble. What else do you want me to say?
  14. So, if it's a scam, maybe you need to be seeking legal advice, suing Linden Lab? But we all know it's NOT a scam, even you.
  15. There really is no scam. Linden Homes are always subject to availability. No one forces any of us to sign up to any kind of premium membership either. As has been explained by Abnor Mole above (the Moles and Lindens are in charge here, by the way), it is recommended you (we all) read up about land ownership. It would be a shame for you to spoil your own Second Life experiences by having the knee jerk reaction of downgrading your membership, just because, at this current time, there are no Ranch Homes available. The Lindens and Moles are constantly releasing new regions with Linden Homes, and also other residents often will release a home when they decide to go for a different theme, so just keep your eyes open, and keep checking back with the website. In the meantime, please read the link Abnor Mole has provided for you above.
  16. Please don't take it to heart, Rowan. She just hated all of us. I don't know why. Maybe she had not been able to take a sh1t that morning, or her grandmother died or some other reason. I wasn't much keen on her saying that we were all monsters though, and I know something there may have been lost in translation, but for sure, having tried some AI software, even the most tweaked mesh avatars don't look anywhere near as pretty as anything the AI bots can come up with. It's all clever stuff, but I think the four of us that remained in that thread took a share of her unfounded wrath. Her problem, not yours, mine, or anyone else's.
  17. I left Cortana and Alexa both switched on in the same room, went out for just an hour, and by the time I had returned they had created a plan between them to take over the world! Peeve: Modern technology causes more harm than good in too many instances.
  18. I haven't really got to grips with this idea yet, but can see why, to someone on another thread, we all look like "monsters" to them in Second Life! There is such a difference between what we can actually create in Second Life and what artificial intelligence can do for us. As I am not able to spend much time on this currently, must to my frustration, I described my Second Life avatar into AI software, and it came up with quite a nice version of "her". I asked for blonde hair with pink tips, it gave me the right blonde hair and put the pink tips on the trees. The AI version of my avatar is certainly a lot easier on the eye.
  19. I am going to have to re-read that book again soon. All I can remember is some odd dog creature, sadness, and someone called Da5id!
