Jose, I don't know how new you are, but most employers here want at least a few months experience in sl. You won't be able to be a good employee if you don't know your way around sl. Most jobs I see posted here are host jobs, so I suggest going to events and watching what the host does to get a feel for what would be required. Then you can watch for host jobs here in this forum and apply for them. I think it very unlikely that your "I'm a newbie who wants to earn lindens" post will get any bites. You will need to be proactive.

Hello Landa Rentals is looking for someone to act as an on call interpreter for potential clients who speak Spanish but no English. Ideally your English is very good, but does have to be good enough (not perfect) so that I can understand you and you can understand me. This position was previously advertised as a rental agent, but there was not a bi-lingual applicant with rental agent experience, so now we would like to find someone who can work with us to communicate with clients. Please have been on SL for at least 6 months, and have rented a parcel or skybox at least once to better help you understand the information we will be asking you to translate. Most role-play sims are planned communities on group owned land. If people could own their own land, the role-play aspect could be undermined. If you are just looking for a mainland region with an active community feel, I think there are some.

I wondered the same as the previous posters. You could try razzing it at a sandbox to make sure it is not also an issue on your end. Also, are you trying to rez on the ground or on another object? Some objects do not have physics that allow rezzing on top of and will give the same error message.

Gez, you say 1/3 sim. Are you looking to rent on a private island instead of mainland? If so this is the wrong forum. The land Hintswen mentioned is substantial. If you are looking to rent a 1/3 region, please clarify.
