  1. That's true for some I guess, but I've made the jump full time to LaraX because I'm looking for only the faves/best of my styles and not to replace everything in my wardrobe. My goal over time is to replace the 10-15% of my clothes that are in my Faves folders in each category, not everything in the category. For example, I have about 150 dress outfits in a top level Outfits folder called Dresses ... about 20 of those are in a sub-folder called Favourites, 10 in a sub-folder called Club, and the remaining 120 in a sub-folder called Regular. I'll be replacing/updating the 20 in Favourites plus some number of the Club dresses, and have not found any need to really have more than 25-or-so X dresses. I never wear the other 120 Regular ones anymore because my tastes changed and got better as I found more of the quality retailers, instead of just trying to buy everything I saw. Saves money and I try now not to buy stuff I rarely wear or are only so-so on. If I have 20 great dresses, 20 casual outfits, do I need much more? Same goes for Formal outfits, Lingerie outfits, Casual outfits, Workout, Swim, etc. Since LaraX has come out I've managed to find at least enough Casual and Dresses that are quality/timeless enough swap fully over to that body. Yes, I'm lacking a lot of Lingerie options (I prefer elegant/classic/vintage to the booty stuff at Kink events) and most of the Formal dresses I've seen I've passed on because again, sleek and elegant haven't shown up much, but they are coming. Some of my fave places have only released a small handful of outfits, and being pickier now, I may only grab one of five they may have released. But they are coming. Slowly. If I could just get Mimikri and a few of the slim, elegant gowns from Just Because to get going, I'd be even happier. And lingerie, please! However, if you're not as picky as I am, there are a 1,700 dresses for LaraX now, 1,000 tops, 1,300 outfits, and nearly 700 bottoms available. That's not "still barely anything" in my mind. PS. One of the coolest things though is having found new, amazing clothing stores. ISON, for example, wasn't even on my radar before LaraX and now I have several of Harry's outfits because his classic modern timeless design seriously rocks. The other thing is that I'm seeing way more support for Petite X.
  2. Oh, I do have one! The folks you're having a nice conversation with in IMs who do not have the "Indicate I'm Typing" checked in their preferences so you don't know if they've gone to sleep, died, went to the bathroom or to grab a coffee, missed what you said, are ignoring you, cleaning up cat barf, or simply ... typing a reply and it just suddenly pops into that ongoing IM. I like to see something like " @Rowan Amore is typing ..." in my chats, please and thank you. Not that @Rowan Amore does ever say hi to me in world, but you know, if she and I were chatting ... teasing!!!! And I know I should wait patiently so the conversation goes back and forth, but I'm a four finger typist who can bang out about 45 wpm and I like rambling on in chats with friends.
  3. The one on the right might be Deep Static. The yellow ones on the left, though, I have no idea.
  4. If you believe Barry Mann, it's probably the same person who put the ram in the rama lama ding dong.
  5. Okay then, a smart blonde joke ... ---------- An elegant, coiffed, well-dressed blonde woman walks into a branch of her bank in downtown NYC. Asks to see the manager. She gets invited and sits down in his office, "How may we help you?" he asks. "I need to borrow $100,000 for a week" she replies. "Ms Smith, do you have any collateral to secure that amount?" "I have my ninety-three limited edition Bentley out front, would that do?" The manager checks the value, her ownership, and with a smile, agrees. He transfers $100,000 into her account and takes the keys and has the car moved to the secure underground parking garage as the blonde woman leaves. He asks, "May we offer you a lift home or in the city somewhere?" She looks playfully confused for a brief moment, but manages to say, "The airport?" A week later, the blonde returns, with money in hand, carrying a number of bags from Paris clothing stores, and clutching an Air France ticket in her hand, meeting the manager again. "I have your $100,000 here and what's the interest?" she asks. "Umm, for the week that would be $54.57" as he hands her keys back and provides directions to where the car is parked and how to get out of the garage. She hands over the extra $54.57 to the man. "But, may I ask why you borrowed and returned the $100,000 in a mere week?" She smiles. "I flew to Paris and went shopping. But do you have any idea how much they charge to park your car at the airport these days?"
  6. In honour of my male alt grabbing Terry Pratchett as his SL name ...
  7. Why not just order one directly from Linden Labs? It's probably the cheapest way to go, rather than buying one second hand from a resident. https://land.secondlife.com/en-US/private-regions.php And hi and welcome to SL!
  8. I saw that word and fully agree.
  9. I hope this doesn't get me into too much trouble, so I'll be a diplomatic as I can, but ... As someone who has spent a 30+ year career in UX/UI for some awfully major corporations globally, and now spends my days directing the entire design process and strategic design directions for that type of company, I find that statement just a tiny bit difficult to reconcile with the current UX/UI of the default LL viewer.
  10. Agree with @Valion Foxclaw L'Etre/DOUX has a number that look very much like that. Magika might be another place.
  11. Can I trot along side in my cat avatar hissing at dogs we see, and occasionally dashing off for no apparent reason, only to return with a wicked gleam in my eyes, and one less mouse in SL?
  12. Mhmm, unless it says X I either check to see what's in the demo pack before downloading that, or simply assume it's classic lara and move on without trying. Creators need to be specific in their visual promos, please.
  13. Missed that! Buying this morning! I found it at Scarlet down on the beach but no way to buy it?
  14. If this is the one from Ecru, I never got an answer if the tops and bottoms are separate items in the full version. In the demo they are linked, something I generally dislike (like when tops and skirts are one item, ugh). Love Ecru .. a bit sometimes too edgy/modelesque, but most outfits quite unique. I consider Mimikri Ecru's less edgy but amazing mod sister.
  15. I meant disguising my male alt as Death. I actually cried when I heard Terry had died, gosh, 8 years ago now. Has it been that long?
  16. Perfect. And someone wanted to ban my male alt for grabbing and using Terry Pratchett. 🤣
  17. Probably wondering why I'm in Denver one day, London UK the next, Chicago and Los Angeles within hours of each other, then Sweden, Berlin, and Vancouver on the same day.
  18. I don't think I have either, but as someone tangential to the field of interior and space design, there are certainly a few stores that are very poorly laid out. I don't mind the large open space ones with nice straight rows of displays, the worst are the ones with little closed off rooms around every corner where you can't figure out the actual layout to wander around in, that includes the stores that think circular mazes are a neat pattern. Oh, and the ones where there is no logical organization to the actual clothing types. A place like ISON that separates pants, tops, dresses into small but open and airy spaces rocks.
