  1. I feel (anecdotally) that this one is at least getting better? I'm not running into anywhere as much in-world griefing this past year (are men reading my profile finally?), and I haven't seen it flame up too much here on the forums. Is it getting to the point that most guys (or, ahem, male avatars) in world are finally not naive enough to believe that behind every lovely woman in SL in an actual female? Porbably not, but one can hope. Now for the OP, yes, this topic really gets a reaction since the spectrum of opinion runs from "You're flying, sure, fly right on through" to the "Put a millimetre of your vehicle anywhere on my property, heck even breath onto my parcel, and I have the right to boot you!" This is why I sail and not fly, and my parcels are always on very sailable and protected waters. PS. I have hours in Cessna 152s and 172s, btw, but lapsed for decades.
  2. All good and thanks! I've changed my mind a bit and have changed out a building (the one with the cellar basement) and scrapped the subway, so can simply use a single 32x64 prim at this point.
  3. It's weird there is no way to create a 32x64x1 platform, then (for example) a 4x4x5 "cutting" block that you can position through the larger platform, and simple combine the two removing the 4x4 space to create a straight edged hole in the platform.
  4. I'm rebuilding a platform that will be the street base for a new thing I'm working on. Because there is a basement below street level (and a subway entrance) I've had to take a single 32x64 "platform" and cut that up into nine blocks to fit around the "underground" spaces while still maintaining a solid single top surface. They are radically different XY sizes so I can't seem to get one texture sized right to look like it's a coherent single surface. I thought if I joined these, I could then apply one texture to the top nine but that does not work. How do I apply a single texture to the top face on this compounded shape?
  5. Made pancakes this morning, then went shopping and bought a new summer dress.
  6. Either, both? My RL art is nothing at all like the abstract scribbles I create for my gallery here; while I've moved through a lot of styles in 40+ years of painting, pure abstracts are something I left behind about 20 years ago. Mostly because I'm uncomfortable with anyone possibly connecting my SL and RL ... you know, not really a mid-30s redhead etc etc I'll think this through and post it more widely if I can make it work.
  7. Is there any interest among my fellow painters/photographers/sculpture artists in SL for me to host a pop up art show every two weeks or so, running for a week? I have some alternate space on my sim .. a well lit second floor loft space above my jazz spot that I could fill with your artwork. No fee, no commission form your sales, just a spot to display and sell and get the word out. Thoughts?
  8. I thought this was a commentary on the multiple—often less than intuitive—ways a SL user has to unpack a new inventory item.
  9. I think you're not going to have any luck here, OP. Just mute the merchant and get on with SL. But as others have pointed out, and I can not stress this enough ... DEMO EVERYTHING. If you can't demo a piece of clothing DO NOT BUY IT. I wasted a lot of Lindens learning this lesson. And that goes for even your very favourite clothing stores. I have about 12 clothing stores that I just love the fashions from, but even with these amazing creators, if it doesn't have a demo I do not buy. Just a few days ago one of those fave stores released two new dresses in the style/look I love. thankfully, I demoed both and wound up buying neither one. What looks good in an advertisement or on the MP does not necessarily translate to a good look on your body. One outfit (open silk blouse, pencil skirt) was too bloused at the bottom where it tucked into the skirt and just looked far puffier on me than the ad suggested. DEMO EVERYTHING.
  10. Still available, and fronts onto a Linden protected canal for sailing access.
  11. \o/ There are always 30+ works available in my in-world gallery, and room for a guest artist monthly exhibit in a separate space above my jazz place near my gallery.
  12. He wrote me back and posted them this morning on the MP.
  13. A lot of the better furniture comes with pretty good animations, so as long as you have good furniture props you'd have covered many of the usual tasks. There are ones for sinks that include face washing, teeth brushing, washing hands, etc. Makeup vanity ones for brushing hair, applying blush, lipstick etc. Many beds have sleeping, stretching, reading, sipping coffee, cuddling animations built into them as well. Food items will often dispense food allowing you to capture drinking and eating etc. I will put together a basic list of some of the usual household furnitures for you I think are good in the coming day or so, though others will be along I'm sure to also pint you in the right directions.
  14. Grabbing the ceiling fan and desk this evening when I'm on. Now to find other 1940s styled office furniture. Filing cabinets, sideboard, etc.
  15. Thank you, only the desk and fedora are on the store. Not the hat stand, crime board etc. I'll fire him a message in world.
  16. Dirty Rat was recently at an event. Featured a noir stye desk, hat rack, crime board, and other 40s/50s noir stuff. Anyone remember which event? Thanks!
  17. This right here is almost certainly the reason. Attribution of trademarked and copyrighted branding/logos isn't permission. Get a letter from Ferrari saying you have the rights to use their logo and branding, show it to LL, and that might solve the problem. Reading the text I can't see any other reason, it has to be the use of a obvious brand.
