  1. Emma ^^, this is absolutely intended as a positive critique on an otherwise lovely avatar. Your hands are way too small and your arms are too short. In RL, if someone stands up straight with their arms down by their sides with fingers straight, the fingertips reach around mid-thigh. I see this constantly within SL, so apologies for picking on you. it is not personal and I hope you take in the way it was intended. But, after all, your body, your choice.
  2. Personally I think MP should NEVER return demos in searches. If they do then they can be easily reported for removal. The real item is the only place a link to a demo should exist. With the potential to list 96 items per page on both the Favourites and Wishlist items I find it staggering that people would have that many listed that finding something would be that difficult. For me the worst job is finding new things to replace the items in the wishlist people have bought for me without appearing overly greedy. All my avatars garner attention as being unusually cute can be both a blessing and a curse. Such is SLife.
  3. One of my pet peeves is ANIMATED AVATARS within forums, or animated gifs or anything that moves or distracts on a static page that I'm trying to read. You know who you are 😐 However, uBlock Origin always comes to the rescue. Right-click the moving image - Block element - Create Never to be seen again. Job done 🙂
  4. Body Language do have less active and more subtle stands and regularly offer gift AOs at main events, I have many frees and pick out the ones I like best. However, their walks and runs are very poor. Vista Animations seem popular but are very expensive IMO and I don't like their current HUD, the old was much better. Individual anims cost from between L$150 -L$200 each and sets around L$1,900. Oracul are excellent in comparison as non-bento anims are L$10 and bento anims cost L$20. They have some very good anims all-round, including walks and runs. The key to a decent set of animations for your ava is learning how to extract specific anims from sets and combine all your favourites into a modified notecard within, for example, a Zhao anim HUD. It is a straight-forward process but can be a bit finicky, but is easy once you get the hang of it. I use Firestorm and use their built in AO for most stands, but also a Zhao HUD which will contain all the Sits, G-Sits, Walks & Runs etc., along with one low priority stand. There are many free or dollarbie AO sets on Marketplace which contain many walks and runs so if you have the patience you can get a bunch and see if there are any you like within. All animations are subjective but the trend is definitely towards subtlety and calmness over recent years, as opposed to tough guys and loose women. Animations are a very important aspect of SL appearance as far as I'm concerned.
  5. I'm always on the lookout for toned, fit and muscular body skins and have many. Many are male body skins but the quality (on close-up) often seems to be lacking. I wish guys had better skins. Sadly most female body skins are very soft and if you're after toned and muscular they seem to focus mainly on the abs. The legs are where I always seek more calf and thigh definition. The search never ends but I am very content with several of my body skins and since BoM arrived skins are so much easier all round than appliers. I often combine my Maitreya body with Velour's Belleza Jake body skin and it's a good match in terms of gentle muscle tone, but most importantly the feet and toes are a very good match to Maitreya. The Legacy male skins look awful on Maitreya feet but otherwise they are fine. I often use a V-Tech flat chest with Maitreya so flat chests are easy, but the nipples don't always align with bikini tops. If I want female boobs with a male skin the nipples are always out of alignment so I use a nipple hider and add additional nipples. Below are several of my efforts - from left to right: - 1. Amara Beauty female skin - for comparison 2. Velour Venus Muscular (Limited Edition) 3. Velour Eros Body Skin for Belleza Jake / Fit + V-Tech flat chest 4. Velour Eros Body Skin for Belleza Jake / Fit + Velour Nipple Skin (No Nipples) + UA Correct Nipples 5. Mudskin Ultimate Boy -Muscle 6. Not Found Belleza Male Body Soft Abs + Veins
  6. So kind, if a little patronising. I'm too independent to pander to others and my neediness levels have never risen beyond negligible. However, I do understand why some people need support in their lives. Take the church, for example. Please, take it.
  7. I don't thank anybody. I am a consumer. In one form or another I am buying the means to be entertained. The entertainment is generated by ME along with items and environments I consume to achieve it.
  8. I always wear separate mesh eyes on my LeLutka heads (5x avatars) as I prefer to resize and adjust the fitting myself to my own personal liking. I find the fit is not what I want from the other options. The one exception being on my Snow Rabbit head, as shown in my profile here. As I'm sure many others do when in-world I often observe other avatars around me. The vast majority of standards would be unacceptable to me, and eyes are no exception. However, how they they look and the effort they invest is up to them, not me.
  9. Well, after going to try the demo at the main store a short while ago I saw the Zo head was on offer with a 25% discount until the end of this month (June). Oooh, that was lucky timing. So I bought it! (L$2,992) One of my alts with only the free Kaya and Lilly heads was the recipient. I couldn't face starting a whole new alt avatar. 6 is enough.
  10. Instead of being elitist why not lobby to have the word 'Resident' hidden from view in-world. This trailing moniker doesn't exist here on the forum unless you delve into a profile. It's not on MarketPlace, nor your online account. I forget it even exists. Wait. People are willing to pay to be elitist. Exchanging money for a sense of elevation. To feel superior. At the end of the day it's all just a game of pretend.
  11. ^^^ This Zo image is absolutely gorgeous. What a delicious look! Sometimes I wish I hadn't seen images with possibilities such as this as. I feel another account with another $50+ looming.
  12. There always seems to be a certain snobbery associated with last names, or perhaps just not having 'Resident' on the end. Same goes for account longevity. Although they can go hand in hand. Account longevity, non-Resident account name, forum post count. These people are more cleverer than the others, at least they like to think so. #snobz
  13. ^^ Psst .. Your tripod has fallen over.
  14. It's happened again and it makes me appear so ungrateful. When you are gifted something from your wishlist, if you OK the box which tells you you've been gifted (by mistake) you have no idea who sent it to you in order to say thank you. It seems it is not recorded in-game anywhere. Yes, I can go to my web account and check there. I did that and have been refreshing for over an hour* so far and it hasn't shown up yet, although previous gifts show. Hard to grumble when a gift is sitting in my received items folder, but feel bad being unable to say thank you in a timely manner.
  15. Glad to see this. At least I know it's not just me. Intermittent failure of outfit saving. I had it a few hours ago also, and yesterday. I even created an outfit manually within the inventory itself under Outfits because Sod's law it's going to happen with a brand new outfit creation and you don't want to lose it. Neither re-logging nor clearing cache did anything.
  16. 07:25 and 33.2°C in my part of the world. All I hear is the sound of my fan. It's like white noise. Besides that - Nothing. It's lovely.
  17. I didn't see this thread until it was several days old as I'm not on here checking to see if I have any new 'likes' or chucking in my opinion every 10 minutes of my waking hours every day, but the subject of this thread has lingered recently. Wherever possible within any forum I participate in I always employ the 'Unread Content' or 'View New Content' as my shortcut for entry and filter out areas within the forum which hold no interest. When images are posted a thumbnail is shown and just the other day saw someone (a female ava) had posted the same identical picture into two of these 'Look at me and Like me' picture threads. Besides being tediously self-indulgent, double-posting has a whiff of spamming and 'Like-hunting' about it. I can't remember the poster's name, to be honest I can't remember anyone's account name even as I write this because none are visible, but numerous poster's names I remember when I'm actually reading the forum. I find many people very easy to ignore. Not by using an Ignore button feature, just simply skimming over their input because they become mentally invisible to me. Even easier when they use some font incongruity in a vain attempt to stand-out because they need all the help they can get with their contributions.
  18. This forum is not unique for having it's own cliques, village idiots, clever-dicks, ubiquitous posters, and the same names appearing in the latest posts lists. 24k+ posts .. JHC! Every forum outside of this place which I post on contains all of the above in varying degrees, but here restrictions exist. It's all well and good saying 'Don't fear it, say it" but you simply have no idea what I have chosen not to say. Putting my in-world account at risk is something I choose not to do. My account. My choice.
  19. This ^^ .. is why freedom to speak freely is limited because the consequences for misbehaviour are far more severe than any other forum, and I'm not just talking about other SL forums. I don't know of or care for any other SL forums but I am a member of and post on perhaps 12 or so other forums. Numerous financial and living in my country being the most prominent and have met many, many people in RL with regard to the country related forums who I have known for many years. The consequences on those other forums for misbehaving are literally nothing, but because I know many of them, including moderators, I'm rarely out of order anyway. There have been topics over the years here which I would have liked to have elaborated on or written about with personal knowledge and/or experience, but declined for fear of saying something which could have got my account banned both here and in-world. Bye bye inventory and much expense and avatar investment. This subject has a lot to do with my minimal participation here, unlike the other forums.
  20. My take would be that they're asking if you intend or do work with or for anyone else (non-exclusive), or intend to work solely for them (exclusive).
  21. That's such a beautiful hair. I have several from Magika, including December, and love them all.
  22. My wishlist never exceeds one single page (of 12) for fear of appearing too greedy. Even then I ensure there is nothing too excessive. 128 pages of wishes is a bit too many, wouldn't you think?
  23. I changed my SL behaviour a long time ago also due to similar happenings. Whenever I tint or change texture of clothing, adjust non-rigged items, such as hair or bangs etc., I ALWAYS detach and then reattach the item again. This 'locks' the changes. If not, if/when a crash or failed teleport results in a crash (seem common for me) then those adjustments are lost. BY detaching/reattaching it locks the changes even of a crash subsequently occurs.
