  1. I personally hate to shop inworld unless it's like @animatsstates where you can rez a demo or see it in use such as landscaping. I abhor that when I see things on Flickr and I go to their marketplace store it's not there and I have to go in-world to get it. Mos likely I won't go to the store to buy it and It will quickly leave my mind that I ever wanted it. I don't get the hype that people have in going to a sim and walking or camming around to see things. Just put it on the darn MP so I can buy it there.
  2. What an odd way to sell land. Just say how much you want for it.
  3. The difference is that it's not random. The picture you see is exactly what you get.
  4. This has got to be the most ridiculous statement I've read on the forum. That's exactly what forums are for - but you know that right?
  5. So you want them to just "throw in" over $1,300 to a member that is paying $249/year? Who would do that? I got it for the free texture uploads and the additional groups plus the additional stipend. I'm not a creator. I also signed up knowing that the 2048 houses weren't released yet (hopefully soon) Just the monthly land cost and stipend brings that cost to more than a $249 value for what you get back. $24x12 is $288/year so they are actually giving you back your subscription fee + $39 not to mention the other perks that you would then get for free. So what part of LL is greedy again? L$650 Weekly stipend to use any way you like (approx. $11 cash value every month) Up to 2,048 m² of mainland for zero monthly land fees (approx. $13 cash value every month)
  6. Well they need to update their FAQ's and then also lower the price of land.
  7. Call me skeptical but I don't think you are going to find quality friends if your only requirement is being friends with people that love 80 Hair Metal. That's like saying I only want to be friends with people that like blueberry muffins with chocolate frosting on top. Good luck though I doubt those people would be on the forum. I haven't seen any.
  8. A homestead is $109/month. PP is $249 a year. How is giving everyone a homestead that costs $1,308 a year fair to LL? Now even I think that land prices are too high but to ask for LL to throw in $1,308 worth of land is kind of ridiculous. For sure a discount would be nice though if you are premium plus. I would think that would be fair but to give it for free? They have to maintain a business and just because people can't afford it doesn't mean they should be given it for free. From their land FAQ's Why do I have to pay for land? Getting virtual land in Second Life is a lot like getting a personal website: you can put whatever you want on it, but your site still needs storage space on a computer that is turned on and available on the Internet, 24/7. When you have land in Second Life, you're actually renting storage/server space at Linden Lab. Each piece of land takes up a certain amount of dedicated storage space - the more land, the more space. So, it's like renting a hard drive.
  9. You are right...it always could have been done yet a majority of "games" have paid subscription perks that you can't have unless you are monthly subscriber. That is how companies make money. They could also allow anyone to have mainland property and not have to be premium member to get it. Again, that's how they make money.
  10. No one is obligated to you to be honest with you about if they are an alt or not. It obviously was not just a basic question. There was a reason why you asked, not just out of curiosity. Who isn't being honest now?
  11. I would say if you feel that SL is just a glorified porn site and are afraid of a partner cheating on you with an alt then just don't participate in those activities. As a side note: Are they really cheating? Isn't what we all are at the end of the day just "friends" who may have online sex once in awhile? A smart person would know how to do this without anyone knowing. If the person is stupid enough to allow their partner to find out do you really want to be with them anyway?
  12. You only have 52 posts. All her questions have been legitimate questions. Not childish at all. That's what forums are. You post, someone responds with a question and you answer them.
  13. I think a lot of older people are who use the forums. The numbers might be quite different if asked this question in-world.
  14. I think it's cute too. The putting on and taking off shoes is a nice addition. I would also like to see things like walking over to a chair and actually sitting down or being able to twirl on demand to show off your outfit. *there might be an animation that can do this but I looked and didn't find one* There is an adult couch that shows the person actually climbing up and sitting? in their lap. That was a pleasant surprise to see. Maybe something like showing a little scooting animation if you and your partner want to cuddle on the couch or nonchalantly putting your hand over her shoulder and pulling her close. Pulling a chair out or opening a door. Now I would have no clue how any of that would work, or if it's even possible, but I think it would bring a lot of realism into Roleplay instead of just clicking a chair and all of a sudden you are in a cuddle pose. I'd buy those animations in a heartbeat.
  15. Hmm. Not really liking it. It has no hips and looks like the torso was just stretched out.
  16. If choosing a simple last name makes someone have "decision fatigue" I doubt they would do very well on the platform at all. Probably best they don't sign up. I doubt anyone made this decision based on concern that people wouldn't sign up due to having too many choices. It's an automated process. It should be free.
  17. Except that it isn't someone looking at how someone is dressed and assuming. The author has written these things into their profile themselves. When you say you are a little ginger vixen sometimes isn't that meant to be suggestive? That sounds like a suggestion to me, written by the profile person themselves.
  18. If your profile literally drips of sexual inuendo can you hardly blame the person reading it?
  19. Not wanting to dance with a RL male that's pretending to be a female does not make you a creep nor a bigot.
  20. I can see where men might have an issue with this. Yes, you do have that you are a male in RL however, it is very well hidden in your profile. If you put that as your first line in the front you might get less of those interactions. Of course making a scene in local or calling you out in public is never a cool thing to do. I read in three places on your profile where you write that honesty is important and that you are always 100% honest and honesty is a turn on but your whole profile is dishonest from the get go. The last thing I noticed is that I see a lot of posts from you here complaining how you have such trouble with men not accepting that you are female in SL but male in RL, yet you also have an entire pick of things that other people do that are such a turn off and so judgmental that you have to have a whole pick about it. Lastly, men want to get you in bed because you are a Hawt redhead because that is exactly what your profile presents that you want. I just don't see how you can have all these contradictory things in your profile and then complain when people get upset.
  21. I suppose it's easier to produce a paper trail if they only allow withdrawals for things they can track. You can't really track how much a singer makes in tips or a creator as those are not things that can be tracked on paper.
