Because they are tired from all the exciting things to do here that they are taking a break and listening to music while they clean their RL house or do laundry. Don't want to miss that one chance you have to meet your soulmate.

I have had a totally different experience. I think I've posted that I go to mostly three clubs in a weeks time. and a couple others less frequently. All of the clubs have regulars that come weekly. There is no lack of interesting conversation in local chat about a number of topics not including politics. It's like it's a family at each one of these clubs but different people make up the regulars at each club. One is an 80's club, one is a blues mostly club and one is a catch all club that does a whole new theme each and every day. If I went to a club that had like 50-75 people regularly I probably wouldn't talk in local as I would know anyone that went there. Even at ballroom dancing clubs there is not a whole lot of local chatter as most couples it seems go their to enjoy formal dancing and chat in IM or voice. I swear some of these topics come up because I think people are just bored and are trying to find things that are wrong with SL. I don't know if that is deliberate or if the postings are just being made for controversy. Make you own SL. If you think there is no one in local talking grab a few friends and start a discussion.

I know for me the 5 minute demo's are terrible. If I buy a top I want to see what it looks like with different skirts or pants. 5 minutes is not enough time. Recently the club that I frequent on a daily basis had a theme night. It was to put together an outfit using only demos. It was all in good fun and MOST of us went back and bought the demo we wore or one we saw at the club. It was a lot of fun. As far as having the Demos only in-store I mainly shop in the MP. If I find a store that has a lot of things I like then I will go into the store but I generally hate it. If when you click "see the item in SL" it brought you directly to the item that would be helpful but going in-store and trying to hunt down the outfit takes more time than if the demo was on the MP. ***I hope this thread can stop on topic to what is available NOW for you to work with and not speculate of what should be available.

The OP isn't filled with a lot of "ideas" or "examples of what they want LL to do. The only definitive thing I have gotten was overhaul the animation systems. A lot of the time posts are created with a wide berth of what it really is about and then we go back and forth for pages and everyone throws in their opinion on what the OP really wants. How can you be off topic when you don't know what the topic is? Let's have an A. B. C. of the changes that you want to have happen and how that will result in new residents finding the platform something they want to join.

I don't think this is what @Coffee Pancake is asking for. I'd never join a platform that was just about getting in on with anonymous people and that was the only reason why they were there. I can watch P*orn for that.

It could be soon though. They are working on a multiplayer game for the next Sims Release. When that will be released is anyone's guess but even in the "Sim's Online" there was a large BDSM presence in the game.

I've never seen so much complaining by long term users YET you want LL to do more in promoting the platform? I just don't get it. Is there anything anyone likes here? If not then why for God's sake are you even still here?

I went to the build the day after to look at it because it sounded exciting and was curious. I found it lackluster and really just an average SL build. I expected to see a WOW factor but it looked very outdated. Another thing was the lag. I hardly ever get lag but with only 4 people in the sim with my FPS the same as on any other sim I could hardly move. So much so I just abandoned doing anything but stand in one place and cam around. It was...a disappointment. I didn't particularly find anything of Drayke's comments to be offensive or rude. He was just stating facts.

I have a hard time thinking that LL is hiding this stuff on purpose. I mean they allow nudity and sexually explicit things in profiles and also some of the stuff I've seen without having to "look" for it is enough to make even the kinkiest person cringe. They can't even fix friends showing up on our friends list but they can create an algorithm to hide all adult content? I doubt it. IF a newbie sticks around enough to want to get into adult intimacy here they find it. One thing that might help is better advertising In-World where the actual users are. I've only been here five years but I know where to find all the adult venues or where not to find them. You have to put most of the blame on the user. If they want it bad enough, they will find it.

So what do you think will happen when we quit "hiding" sex in SL? I think you are kidding yourself if you think it will attract mature, respectful people. Not that I'm against it but you can't have it both ways.

Well because typically 69 means you are into or at least are not offended by sexual things. It's not anything like you deserve it because of your name but If I was a Horney 30 year old I'd probably hit on someone with your name than Mary Poppins or at least start with someone with a name that indicates they like adult content. Sorry if you don't agree but it's human nature.

I disagree with this. I don't think it's "hidden" but it may be hard to find. A person really wanting to indulge in adult activities will normally ask and do their research. I really thought this thread was about LL not paying attention, or caring enough about adult activities to put effort into improving animations, however it's become a much broader subject now.

You don't think part of the reason why you get propositioned for sex could be because of your name and the adult groups you have in your profile. I have never been propositioned for sex or anything while shopping and really rarely get hit on at all. I actually get hit on more now that I have a partner than I ever did while single. Not saying that doesn't mean everyone else is not getting hit on or it's not an indication of adult activity but not all of us have this experience.

Reading this responses I feel lucky. I log in almost every night and go to one of three clubs. Small clubs that has the same people going every night. I have about 8-10 people that I spend most of my time with. I spend time with my partner and building on my homestead. I've only been here 5 years so maybe that is the difference.

LOL really? I actually think it's the older people are having the most SLex on the grid. There is no reason for an older person to have a lesser sex drive than younger people. The issue is opportunity for RL encounters. I'm 61 and my sex drive is just as high, if not higher. I just don't want the bother of having a RL partner. Been there and done that twice and I am enjoying being single without having to worry about another person. Also a lot of older people have medical issues that make RL sex and relationships difficult. Also as much as people might turn there nose up at this a lot of married people use SL instead of cheating in RL

I don't play video games for escape. I enjoy them and it's my main form of entertainment. I am constantly looking for games that add as much realism as possible and not just adult content. I can't imagine everyone that play video games on a console, PC, tablet, phone are merely doing that to escape. I see that more on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. On a side note: I don't think that it's LL that is ashamed of the adult content. I do think though that residents shame other residents by telling them "this isn't a dating site" or "you can't possibly believe you'd actually find a partner here for RL" My opinion on that is the same it's always been. Second Life is the perfect place for interpersonal relationships and it's set up this way by allowing partnerships, have deep discussions while cuddling etc. I would be much more likely to meet someone from here than say Match.com, providing you of course take all safety precautions. Is it likely that I will meet someone in RL? Probably not but at least the opportunity is there if both parties want it.

But that's not even the point of the post. It's about revamping the animation system so that adult activities (and other things) work better and smoother. If you don't use them then nothing to worry about. I know the "woo is me attitude" you often use here. I was not trying to make you the bad guy in any sense.

That is true. There are lots of things that are oversaturated. Food being the one that comes to mind. People are obsessed with Food! However you can do things that will lessen your chance of seeing some of the content. Not reading or responding this this thread for instance.

How is sex pushed in your face? Perhaps maybe on the MP if you have Adult content enabled but, in my experience, I've never seen anything sexual unless I went looking for it. If I wasn't interested in it then I wouldn't hardly know it even exists.

Sex is absolutely the priority focus of the platform. At least in one form or another. Sure, there are lots of people that come just to create but what are they creating? Clothes - Most have a sexual overtone to them. Furniture - It's rare to see furniture without an Adult version. There are other things. Those are just examples. I don't know how this would divide groups or affect how people interact anymore than it does now. In fact I think it would create more opportunities for creators and residents alike. Older people stick around for the friendships that they create, which a huge percentage of that demographic, for one reason or another, want it to be possible to engage in sexual activity. I think improving the adult aminations would only improve retention. Trust me, it's not like people are just logging on for hours and hours and having wild sex the whole time. *well I'm not, maybe others are* It wouldn't be seen more or overrun the grid as most sexual activity is done in private unless you seek out other avenues. So those that don't want to see it or engage in it have the same chance of running into it as they do now. As for LL, it would be well worth the money they would invest to improve the system and they would reap the benefits very quickly.
