  1. Yes, and the monthly tier amount will depend on the size of the mainland parcel(s) that you buy. The first 512 sqm of land will be free of tier if you do not have a linden home. If you go to "Land Use Fees" under "Land Manager" on your account dashboard, you can see what the fees are, and at what level they change, and you can play around with the 'estimate' function to get a better idea of how the tier works out. If you do incur monthly tier costs, the tier will be automatically billed once a month, in arrears (it's based on the highest amount of land owned during the prior month).
  2. It sounds like the key part of the mesh requirement is not so much being all mesh, but the interest in talking about clothes, shopping and mesh bodies, and whether the potential roommate is interested in that or not. I am all mesh, in fact have 2 mesh bodies and 3 mesh heads, but I am not overly interested in sitting around talking about clothes, shopping and mesh bodies, so knowing that the key was the conversation and interest part is helpful information for one to know whether or not one would be the type of roommate you were looking for. However, if It hadn't been all of the threads and posts I read in the forum about clothes, shopping and mesh bodies, I probably wouldn't have experimented with moving to all mesh. So there might be potential roommates out there who love clothes and shopping, and give their system body meticulous care with mesh hair, mesh clothes, mesh hands/feet and fantastic skins, but haven't made that last jump yet. They may be a good fit due to the their interest in those subjects, but technically don't meet the requirement when it's just stated as "mesh". I do wish you the best in finding some roommates that have a commonality of interests with your group.
  3. I'm just curious as to whether or not you've built a full sim before? To me this seems like a lot of things to have on one sim, without it being crowded (although I suppose some things could be put on platforms above it, as long as there was enough LI available). I was talking with a friend who does like medieval themed areas, and she doesn't know whether she would be interested or not, until she's able to see what actually gets built, what it looks like, and how the rentals are laid out and priced and whether it ends up being RP focused or medieval residential community focused (with RP optional or secondary). Even if there is a lot of interest, I would imagine that you would need to be able to cover the expenses for it by yourself while it's under construction, and then for some time afterwards, as it takes time for it to become established and well-advertised enough to have a good number of the rentals filled. Even then, it might or might not reach full occupancy.
  4. This was interesting to see. I had thought that if LL did do this, it was more of an unusual situation type of thing, but this response makes it sound like this is routine behavior for LL to remove non-founding group owners at the request of the founding group owner. It's not transparent, and it seems like LL should note this on the group management wiki page, so that everyone is aware that this may happen.
  5. If it put you at various places within the naval base, then I don't have an answer for that. I don't normally log back in to 'last location', so there may be nuances about that behavior that I'm not aware of.
  6. When you log back in when you were last at the Naval Base, does it always put you on the main entrance road between the police car and the security gate? It looks like that parcel has a "Landing Point" set, so when one TP's in, one always lands at the set landing point. I'm thinking this set landing point is also applicable for logging in to that parcel location as well. As for the water craft there, I imagine that the craft that are docked there belong to various members of the group that owns that parcel. If you examine one that you're interested in, you may be able to find the craft's name and/or creator, and could search for it on the marketplace. Alternatively, if you're on the base when some of the group members are also there, you could ask them where the water craft can be purchased at.
  7. Sounds like someone knows about it - have you checked events to make sure there's not more going on there?
  8. The best place to look to see what's going on is in your linden transaction history on your dashboard. Log in to your account at secondlife.com, then under "Account" on the left side bar, select "L$ Transaction History". By default, that only shows the current day's transactions, but you can change the date selection parameters so you can see the last 30 days. You should be able to see the records for the actual transactions - both those that add to your balance, and those that subtract from your balance.
  9. For a last working Friday, seems like it would be close enough to the end of the work day and if you've already moved for clock ahead as well...
  10. When I lived on mainland, I turned around one evening in my house, and a guy was standing there wearing a ski mask and pointing a gun at me. I knew nothing could happen to me, but it was still a shock. While I was trying to remember how to eject someone, he was talking while shooting the gun, telling me take off my top because this was a rape, and a robbery. I finally got him ejected and banned, and a little later was walking along the road and, on the next sim over, came across an empty parcel that had a box out on it. Being curious, I went over to look more closely at it, and it was a box for a ski mask and had been left there by the masked intruder I had ejected earlier from my house.
  11. I like this method, because when I click on it after pasting it into chat, it brings up the LM window, and you can double-check to make sure it is still the place you were expecting it to be, before you TP to it.
  12. I like how the lighting and color came out in this shot.
  13. In order to apply Omega applier skins to the Vista head, you will need the Omega System Kit for Vista. If you use one of the 3 skins that come with the Vista head (you can select the skin tones in the HUD for the head) and you buy a matching body applier (for Maitreya or Omega), you would use the omega system kit for Maitreya, if the skin was Omega compatible. The first step would be to decide whether to get a skin applier so that your body will match one of the skin tones that comes with Vista, or whether to see if there is an Omega compatible head applier in the HUD or folder for your existing Maitreya skin (or if not, if the shop where you got your Maitreya skin has an Omega compatible head applier).
  14. I believe that the commission is still charged - I think that it combines the transactions of buying the lindens needed thru the lindex (using your Paypal), and then completing the MP transaction using the lindens it just purchased.
  15. I have the demo for the VISTA Lia head (I like that one also, although I haven't purchased one yet). It looks like the included skin options for tor the head are from 7 deadly s{K}ins, Avenge and YS&YS - so checking at those stores you should be able to find a matching applier skin for your body. And the Vista head is Omega compatible, and you would need to get the Omega System kit for Vista - see http://slpoweredbyomega.com/instructions/instructions-vista/ for more info
  16. Have you tried removing all the Maitreya body items (revert back to a classic avi) and then re-add them? Or try rezzing a new copy of the Maitreya HUD and body to wear?
  17. Have you tried checking your Maitreya HUD to make sure you don't have any alpha slots turned on, and then relogging? If something happened during the last TP while you were still rezzing from logging in, hopefully a relog will clear that up.
