New FS Viewer...6.4.13...Looks Like BLEEEEEEEP!
Evah Baxton replied to FairreLilette's topic in General Discussion Forum
"Crypto-currency enthusiasts have contributed to a shortage of graphics cards by snapping up supplies to use for non-gaming purposes." https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-56114508 -
Those restaurant tents make no sense at all. Makes me question why people are so desperate to go out to eat right now. Couldn't possibly have anything to do with atmosphere...

Do check that FS isn't trying to run on an integrated graphics card. -

Then what if dreams are just the random samplings (grouped and observed by sense) of all the information stored in the brain? Including current life experiences & the valuable survival information from previous generations? They probably are drivel, you are probably right (of course, certainly right for you.) Your post just struck me as an interesting take and I played Devil's advocate for a moment.

Could be. Take the AI test where you put a bunch of cars on a track and let them learn the track one race (generation) at a time. Only one vehicle wins per race and it is used as the template for the next generation. Going line by line through all those learned experiences would look like utter drivel especially when you add to the same system the ability for the cars to talk, react to each other, find food, create social structures, feel happiness & pain ... In my opinion, you are the sum of your utter drivel.

Constantly having to bring my height back down. I make tiny adjustments all over for months and then realize I'm a monster.

It's scary stuff. Imagine believing that god gave free will to choose right from wrong and the "right" choice is to end all choices by creating some kind of state religion / theocracy where you get judged and punished by other not-gods for your choices. That's a person I don't want anywhere near the reigns of power. As well as that person.

It's magnificent!

Don't like this new SL feature AT ALL

I wrote a script to counter this. Enter the location you want to go and the script will walk / fly you there. It will e-mail you once you arrive! There is a cost for the e-mail service. -
This is great! Thank you. Isn't this always a risk with any sort of virus? What if the mutations just create less deadly viruses?

If there is enough vaccine to vaccinate everyone who wants / needs it, will you be afraid of the people who chose not to vaccinate? I haven't heard a good reason why I should be worried about others once I am fully vaccinated.

I fear for SL
Evah Baxton replied to EmpressLuna Starchild's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
I've taken breaks and gone without SL for years at a time. No big deal... but I think that is only because I knew I could go back if I wanted to... -
Try shopping around for your favorite shoe styles and see what body is most supported.

virtual goods Selling virtual goods on CREDIT (interest free)
Evah Baxton replied to Wili Clip's topic in Merchants
Create a vending service that only delivers an item once some % is paid back based on your trust system. You could charge a delivery fee upfront for using the service. Trust-based layaway for SL! All the risk would be on you where it should be. -

What happens if Linden lab closes/shuts down
Evah Baxton replied to Rickyfatton's topic in General Discussion Forum
It really does feel like most outsourcing is based on liability more than anything else. It's become like a commodity for companies willing to take it on. Did LL employ datacenter people directly? -

I would think they chose to go to AWS to save money straight away or because they anticipate growth. Why do you think they did it? -
A long time ago I had someone tell me that my boots were too big and clunky. I thought to myself, "Sooo what's my prize if I change my boots? Do I get a pass to some super secret no-clunk boot club, or do I just get to hang out with you evaluating other people's feet?" I loved those big clunky boots. As for de-rendering, you can de-render me all day long. That's pretty weird of you though.

How about this one ... Cellular 5G (not the WiFi kind) can transfer power wirelessly to charge small devices like earbuds over a longer range. From what I've read, this part is true. Sounds awesome. However, the "nanobots" they are injecting with the vaccine are dormant now. The wireless power will activate them to create a permanent trackable universally unique identifier of you. Imagine if one day "they" said "Yeah, this is what we're doing. You can't power this off or suck it out through your belly button. You do as we say or you don't eat. Deal with it." Me? I'm getting the vaccine as soon as I can. I would rather be going for a jog with my fully charged earbuds than running about in the woods hiding from Boston Dynamics.
