Should the listing date of an item be made visible on the Marketplace?
PekeNL replied to Jules Catlyn's topic in Merchants
This would be amazing so we don't have to scroll through countless different colors of the same items in search of what we want, to ensure we got something somewhat up to date. -
Getting Started In SL Photography
PekeNL replied to Jinnywitha Cleanslate's topic in Art, Music and Photography
You should write a guide of things that translate from RL to SL! -
So how is deviantart working out for people? Is it actually a decent alterative or is it mostly that the main brands of SL continue on Flickr because they can afford the premium?
-
How about.. Twitter?
-
Yeah. It must feel so good being 'SL Flickr famous'...

All you gotta do is spam it everywhere. It's a machine. You spam it, people like it, people follow and you do the same. Don't hope to get any meaningful interaction though..

Blogging became such a business I noticed, it's simply not fun for anybody not already 'in the know' or popular to engage with it. I always wondered; Does blogging actually benefit someone financially in any way? After all it takes time and money.

I have one from Paysafecard. It works, as long as the balance is sufficient. If it doesn't work, try connecting it to paypal instead and paying through there.

Whoever you had this interaction with has no clue what security bots do nor did it actually verify you as such. It's just a scare tactic. If you honestly still want to go to a place that falls for these things, be my guest and find a anwser, otherwise just ignore and move on. Stupidity only deserves to be left alone.

This entire interaction is pure bollocks. From what I know of SL a 'security bot' would be unable to view the processes on your PC. Whoever owns this bot and runs this event isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Hiring a builder/designer to texture my home
PekeNL replied to Sukii Allure's topic in Inworld Employment
Throw me a DM either on the forum or in-world (PekeNL) with some details on which home and the types of textures you want it to have and I'll gladly give you a hand. -

Hopefully not the 'whipped cream' flavour I had at a party once. You didn't taste the alcohol. The morning after, after waking up in the ditch next to my tent I realized, it indeed had alcohol in it.- 23,168 replies

SL new user retention, expectation and usability
PekeNL replied to Coffee Pancake's topic in General Discussion Forum
Minecraft is something you buy once and you don't have to worry about anything else in terms of money. It has plenty of mods to make your experience unique and offers a very big community with lots of servers. Meanwhile Sl claims to be 'free' and on the surface, it does look to be. You plop in free of charge and get greeted with a (imo) terrible first user experience. Everybody looks the same, all wearing standard avatars and once you have overcome to overwhelming nature of your starting experience, you realize SL isn't actually free. An initial purchase of L$ similar to minecraft's cost might suffice for a little bit, but for the full Sl experience you might have to put up to a hundered dollars to look decent.- 503 replies

I often leave confused as hell. For a drama-driven site their content filtering policy is terrible. Sometimes there's quality, but sometimes it's almost unreadable.
-
So. We (mostly) know it's a thing, but I never really found the opinion of SL'ers on it beside a few people I know that feed on drama. I notice browsing it a lot of it is mangled private drama that, unless you know the people, offers no sharp exhale (Cheating posts main contender). Not to mention a lot of posts seen to be made in MS paint with the worst color/font combination someone can come up with. What's your opinion?

Shopping in SL - what can't you get enough of?

Any clothing you can modify to your own taste! -
I don't know the specifics, but I believe @NiranV Dean ranted a while ago on discord about how the build-in AO causes a lot of unnecessary lag by sending all the animation parameters to the server when you switch a pose. So naturally.. I'd opt to give this a try: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/NirAO-Server-Side-Animation-Overrider/6310433. It worked flawless for me thus far (Plus you can take it off once it's loaded, and it's lightweight as hell and it's UI (in contrast to some AO makers) isn't intrusive.

Pretty much this. Maitreya is 'old' compared to the newer bodies. -

m4 mars and avatar 2.0 skin and clothes suggestions
PekeNL replied to Devilgrey's topic in Your Avatar
Considering how he avatar looks I can offer these insighs fro my end: Body: Switch to Gianni/Jake/Legacy or whatever mesh body that you prefer that has decent popularity. However - If your reasoning to use 2.0 still is edit permissions, Jake has a 'advanced' version which has edit right. For the face, if you like to keep the anime aesthetic, switch to the M4 Venus head and tinker with the shape. I have been able to get pretty good 'adult' looking results from heavily modifying it's shape. It all depends on your wishes and budget honestly. You'll always going to run in skin compatibility issues with items that weren't made by the same creator, and the trick is finding a workaround and to tinker with textures yourself to get it matching as close as it can, especially mixing non anime with anime. -
No. They don't ban you for ending your premium. They do however have issue with signing up for one, paying for it once and then your card declining subsequent payments. This is what gets people in trouble. I once too forgot to top up my prepaid credit card I use for SL, and LL temporary locked me out until I payed what I owed then and cancelled the subscription. It's a contract you essentially sign, so you're bound by it. If you can't? then well - They'll take action.

The former: Sure, why not! Always good to have a bit of a place where people can ask questions related to it. The latter: For a group that wants to feel included and normalized amongst others, you sure seem to make it a sport to segregate yourselves from the masses.
