  1. To add to the answers above... You are probably safe and should stop worrying so much. It's highly unlikely your child is in any danger just from him posting the picture (assuming he has and isn't just baiting you), unless he also includes identifying information. A picture of a random real life kid is not going to garner any attention what-so-ever. The only risk will be if enough information is included to identify her amongst the 2 billion or so kids in the world - and in that case it is against TOS and the lab will act swiftly. But just a picture? No country, no state, no school, no name..... No danger.
  2. And as a kid avatar myself, if you can't handle listening to a bad word or three then I suggest you just mute those people and find new friends. But sheesh, almost all kids swear in real life, and they should swear in game to be realistic. One last thing: Reporting other kids is wrong, it's bad, it's dead evil. Stop it now. We have a hard enough time with fake ARs and the purge that is happening right now as the lab work to delete us all from the game.

The grid would be overrun with sexbots. Prok's head would aspode. At least setting up Corrade is a bar to entry for most of the dungeons and strip/escort places.
  4. Someone sending you a TP offer is a Lure.
  5. That object complexity bug comes to mind. It's hit me a few times when I was resizing mesh items, and then overflowed land LI allowance, and random things dissapeared. I've been wondering lately if I exploited the same bug in someone's shop if the same would happen to them, or it's only one's own objects affected. I could be totally meowing up the wrong tree here.
  6. If my small community in SL can be extrapolated out into the greater population most people wearing the skins have never seen a black person either.
  7. Freya Mokusei wrote: German always sounds more badass. It could be in German for a multitude of reasons. Anyone can accidentally set their language incorrectly, and they might not notice for months. It could just be LL's systems screwing around. My partner is German, each time he shares a marketplace link to me the SL websites all flick over to German. Took me ages the first few times to find the little language selector up the top left of the marketplace with the word "sprache", which turns it all back to English. I'm gunna guess the person who filed the divorce had the issue and couldn't turn back, maybe using google translate to run the websites from German to Spanish. hehe
  8. Hmm there is an idea! *starts making a kitten sized pope hat for himself*

Hehe not unless you faked the information back in 2006. Unrelated, but one thing that does irk me though, on forgotten password, it asks you the first names of three of your friends. ______ Resident ______ Resident ______ Resident You can't just pick any random friends, you MUST list the first names of the ones the Lab want.
  10. The Lab deal with people's financial details. I appreciate them taking a bit of care to ensure those precious links into my bank account are kept safe as possible. Sorry if you are less careful with your money.
  11. mews Clipons? Why not get real ears? I am not sure what you mean "no wire" (my ears and tail are a real part of me not clipon) but maybe these; https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/RE-Kitty-Ears-MESH-LUX-Collection/8425085
  12. I wonder if the UUID could be located in the cache and replaced with another texture.
  13. I sat for way too long last night looking at this code. SwathHiker wrote: Just wondering if anyone had a chance yet to head to Jim Cramer's UPSTATE home (not the celebrity Jim Cramer) and check to see how he's doing post-SURGERY? He has asked us (anyone) to stop by ASAP. BEA has dropped off his MEDICATIONS and he's feeling very groggy still. Please do go by and say hello. He says if he can't get to the door just find a way in and go ahead and wake him up. Thanks. Jennifer C JJCUPSTATEJCSURGERYHASAPBEAMEDICATIONSPHTJC didn't come up with anything, so removing just the sentance starts JCUPSTATEJCSURGERYASAPBEAMEDICATIONSJC also didnt come up with anything, so removing the JC's UPSTATESURGERYASAPMEDICATIONS Hmmm, google Upstate Surgery SEO gaming their Medications ASAP? But that would need a link or it's useless as nipples on a superbowl performer. SUPERSTATE AREA GUY MISCAPTIONED Who do we know on TV from Illinois? Trump is from Queens apparently, so it's not him.
  14. You have the best suggestions above. I just wanted to add a "Wewt!" for: SusanBaCCNVLE wrote: I have become enamored with SL, want to stay, buy some land and learn all I can about building and scripting. :matte-motes-little-laugh:
  15. Freya Mokusei wrote: Sassy Romano wrote: Implement stronger authentication in the first place and prevent the hijacking of accounts. Right. Two-factor would solve this 100% of the time. I would love TFA to be added to the main website, because that's all that needs to be done to stop account takeovers. Mind you, adding it to the marketplace, forums, and viewer itself is also ok! But, sadly, it's not an impressive shiny for most people.
  16. Being PIXIV it has a post number; so translating the OP's link gives.... http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=manga&illust_id=58737692
  18. You can do it either way, and also swap it over later. It saves you one group slot if you combine, but you have to get your security right by not allowing rezzing and object entry and use wear to unpack scripts instead. Hopefully others will chime in their thoughts!
  19. Freya Mokusei wrote: Maybe it's more normal to ask those things now than it was previously - it could reduce social engineering attacks on accounts. Maybe it's a commerce thing? I haven't and that's been about 5 tickets regading my regions and various other land related issues (pro tip: never abandon a mainland parcel by camera, lol) over the last few months. Maybe it depends on the particular Linden/Team involved. The land team are normally an absolute pleasure to deal with and don't seem to put up barriers.
  20. Also very similar to most things made by [^.^Ayashi^.^] https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/68045 (I've gone off Dura hair lately, it's such high ARC!)
  21. $700 is about L$179,200 give or take a few. There are only 3 official ways to get game tokens Verified Paypal account Verified Skrill account Proper (not pre-paid/gift) Credit Card There is NO way to use pre-paid cards unless you hack it, and those hacks do sometimes bounce back on you, which means you pay paypal back from your own money. Likewise unless you remain a NPIOF (No Payment Info on File) resident there is no way to hack in pre-paid cards to hide your real life name and address from the Lab. There are no "safe" ways of buying Lindens outside these three. If the lab detect it the TOS lets them do nasty things if they want. I've got all three linked to my account, and have had the credit card and paypal linked for almost 10 years. One thing can be said for the Lab is that they are very good with security on money issues.

  23. Having OpenID for logins to this forum and knowing that they are hashing and salting the password and not storing it accessable is a comfort for me. No service is unhackable - I would love to have a Second Factor - but it's ok.
  24. When I use the common search terms I use for clothing suitable for the mesh body I wear I get 99 pages of Gatcha first. For me it's sort of sad that a nicely working system where you could type in your body brand and see the clothing was replaced with a gatcha showcase.
