  1. G land is accessable by real life teenagers. As such the rules are strict, and they are enforced. Although your land agent says it's ok, the Lab are going to be ruthless should someone ever report you. And you will be reported by someone. It is trivial to call up Firestorm's area search and look at every object in the sim - and there are countless people who will be stalking your objects to make sure that they help protect the kids. Move to an M rated sim.

Because I already have a Pixel XL, Lumiya's VR mode may be just enough impetus for me to spring for the Daydream View, once Daydream has full Cardboard app compatibility. oh! I will try that tonight. As far as I've been able to work out getting cardboard compatibility is as simple as turning off NFC on the Pixel. But half an hour with the Daydream VR strapped t omy face and I am feeling very nauseous, and my phone is running very hot - to the point it's likely warned me about overheating. Be a fun test - how long can I be in SL for before I throw up, or my Pixel XL turns into a Samsung clone and catches fire
  3. jaq Seriman wrote: Thanks for replying. I have tried different things to sort of cheat to find a way to determine placement. I tried taking a screen shot of the car and bringing it into Photoshop. The problem is sizing the object properly. I suppose if I had nothing to do all day but play around with this I might find a way to create properly fitted textures. Having the UV maps would help quite a bit I would think. Some of the people I bought cars from say the person they bought the shell form didn't include the UV maps. Quite convenient. I can't say I blame people from trying to protect content. It's not like I'm trying to steal anything from them but just alter what I already have for my own use. I suppose I'll just have to trudge on. As a person who repaints a lot of things a UV colour grid will help you a lot. I use http://webglbasic.com/compiler/textures/grid/grid02.jpg mostly. Rez 2 of the object, apply the grid to one, then make it a 20% or so opaque layer in photoshop. Set the other object up with live textures so that you can preview your changes fast in world and use the coordinates to place, size and rotate your logos better.
  4. This could mean two things, if the land is changing shape then you should check nobody else has terrain modification rights or that there isn't a terraforming prim left rezzed somewhere. More likely though: If it's the grass/sand texture (and not the terrain itself) going blurry then that is failing to properly load. This especially happens if you use 1024x1024 land textures and venture out where a lot of other textures will be loaded - shopping, sailing, exploring, sim hopping. Cutting your land textures down to 512x512 will help quite a bit. Also make sure they do not carry an Alpha channel. As an additional work around, put the four 512x512 textures you use on a prim. Make the prim as small as you can, and attach it to one of your free chest, ear, nose, chin, mouth points so it's hidden inside your body.
  5. A stream? It sounds like you did get it. They are normally just a notecard with login details put inside a box. These are for DJs to use in clubs. The notecard outlines a login that can be entered into software on your computer and then music you play is heard on your land. If you didn't want to DJ yourself, then Internet radios can be obtained in the marketplace or you can use a list of URLS like this slightly outdated one at http://www.outworldz.com/secondlife/posts/streaming/ Just pick one, enter it into the Music URL on the Sound Tab (with firestorm, not sure of the SL viewer) and it should play.
  6. As long as they are within TOS and CS Linden Lab will not enforce how a Land Owner uses their prims. BUT, You are able to do this yourself. Right click the ones you don't think are needed and choose "derender" you will be given the options "temporary" and "permanent" The first will remain until you log out or teleport out, the latter will remain removed forever. You have complete freedom to adjust the landowners place as you like using this method. Your changes are for you only, other people will need to choose what they keep and remove themselves.
  7. agentronin wrote: What is says in my World Map is that Tauros is Mature. Same thing, just language based on the viewer I use being different to the viewer you use. There are only three clasifications: G / M / A -- you have a home in an M region, so your A activities must be "behind closed doors" as the Lab defined it above.
  8. Looking on the map, Tauros is Moderate. The lab covered private adult activity in a Moderate area in their "behind closed doors" policy. What does "behind closed doors" mean? Adult activity on Moderate land must be conducted "behind closed doors," meaning that you must make every reasonable effort to ensure that the parcel is private. This means: Allow only a group or specific individuals access to the parcel. If it is group-access only, the group must not be freely open to join. Hide avatars (turn off avatar visibility) for the parcel. Enclose the area behind walls or other visual barriers. While you can be naked and have sex in your house (which one assumes includes the patio) make sure your parcel privacy is on and your ban lines are up. I wouldn't put adult pictures outside, inside is likely ok. Link is : http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Adult_Content_FAQ#What_does_.22behind_closed_doors.22_mean.3F The lab are always very vague on these things, so it's better to err on the side of caution if you can.
  9. They are bots but they are definately not tracking IPs. There are a few swarms of sim jumpers, plus a swarm around the blake sea as well. The best reason I could come up with is someone has a fancy online tracker that shows where any avatar is on mainland that they are tracking - super stalking. But that is very much conjecture.
  10. Boo. No reboots before a busy holiday weekend? Sailing and Planes will be a mess. So many dissapointed customers. *buys stocks in the Linden's preferred rubber band company*

  12. Huddle, oldschool and not updated in a decade, but a nice HUD for my 2 left feets.
  13. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Not sure what the Blake Sea has to do with the Fruit Islands. Ah you mean that estate that is half nudist and half sailing. That's not 120 sims is it?
  14. Blake Sea rentals have a number of problems for some people. Restrictive covenant means you can't just build anything You won't have landscaping rights You will need to keep it M rated, and this means no toys on the beach (wink) Absolutely G rated on ground is the suggestion most people follow. You will also pay a 20% premium on rental over what you can get with a disconnected private homestead. No Orbs, (or on some sims orbs with 20 second delays) and that means people are able able to stand at the foot of your bed as you enjoy private time. No Ban lines. Your land must remain open to all, especially boat and air traffic. Lots of air traffic, it won't be unusual to have a helicopter hover over your house as people cam inside looking at your things (I will be one of them)
  15. Ah well, like Zindra, I expect the map will be awash with Yellow and "Life" rental/sale boxes. The lab will get their money, Patch can then turn on estate extra prims, and in 6 months when they use up this influx of dollars on the white elephant of Sansar they will find a new way to milk us.
  16. Suki Hirano wrote: You guys realize HUDs count as attachment as well right? I usually have at least 6-7 HUDs onscreen at once. Two AOs. Yes I switch between them all the time Hug/kiss HUD Lighting HUD Maitreya body HUD Omega relay HUD Inspector HUD Posing HUD There you go, 8 HUD's already. Sometimes I even have more, like texture HUDs or other RP HUDs. Although you are very welcome to wear anything you want, each of these is bumping up your script load, and that means when you TP into a place you affect everyone as each script is transferred into the SIM and started. (You have noticed how in busy sims there is severe lag when some people TP in or out? This is why) There are also a number of bugs in region handover that will kill scripts in attachments. If your HUDS are NoMod (which I curse, like you) then one day you will find they are dead, and can't be reset. Comsider that you don't need them all. Put them on situationally and you will find that those extra spots can be used for other things. Even so, that you are hitting this limit all the time means you are very far from the normal. Suki Hirano wrote: I also like wearing accessories. Necklaces, collars, cuffs, piercings, neko ears, tails, claws, rings, you name it. As people keep saying, we would love to know your render weight! All these scripts in your HUDS hurting other people when you TP in and out of sims + all these polygons you carry in your attachments. I can smell the burning CPUs of your friends allready!
  17. That original post is actually very good, and something I understand more and more each day. People don't realise how much time and care is put into a product, not just the design work, but all else including the unread manuals, the packaging and double checking, the photos, the marketplace process itself. And then the support for gormless idiots who usually IM wanting their answer whilst you are doing something important. The answer being the first in the manual. It's disheartning to get that one star review because "The item isn't in my inventory"
  18. Bree Giffen wrote: IMHO, the moral ambiguity of the OP's question is on the level of taking more ketchup packets than you need. Something most students at uni do to add to their noodles, because money can be difficult. And something most places with ketchup understand because they were in that boat too.

If it arrives this year, it probably went as planned, but if it doesn't.... There has been a pretty large impact to sailing around Nautilus with a few trouble spots that were always there becoming very nasty. But that is just my personal opinion. No hard numbers
  20. Officially SoonTM - which is about February 2018 Unofficially people have said to me around Thanksgiving. I am not so sure how accurate that is.
  21. TimeofSnow wrote: What REALLLLLLLYYY gets me is one kid I liked and they rejected me because they "Had a family" Then guess who I see at yet another adoption agency just recently pop up?! Lesson of life (and as an SL-Kid I can't believe I'm giving you one) Some people get embarressed telling another person they really don't like them. They make up a little white lie to escape, without hurting you. TimeofSnow wrote: I CANNOT REALLY BE THAT TOXIC! You seem to be very uptight. Meditation can help with that. I am being 100% serious when I say that. TimeofSnow wrote: I have tried to get a brother or sister recently for maybe 4 weeks now and nothing. Some people will try to be adopted for months, go through hundreds of trials and have their photo and notecard up for months. Some people will never be able to do it. You may find a better way is to make a close friend and then move the friendship into family status.
  22. Unicorn ban lines! Now I am actually tempted to see what some of the others have, the normal yellow is rather uninspiring.
  23. O_O The folded Avatar bug. That was also fun! There is no doubt that this raft of problems with sim crossings and lost HUDS and attachments some days gets my goat as well. Add in orbs, crossings that don't recover (relog), people blocking sailing channels with aircraft carriers and arriving naked to everyone else and... yeah some days it's easy to get grumpy. /me pokes any Linden who does read this - "now you've gotten past the extra prims a few new vehicle related fixes taken off the huge list of work would be amazing."
  24. THE SHIFT-LOCK KEY WAS ADDED TO THE REMINGTON JUNIOR TYPEWRITER IN 1914. ONE IMAGINES THE ENGINEER WHO CONCIEVED THAT BRILLIANT PLAN WENT ON TO DREAM UP /b/ AND THE PARTICLE CUBES STILL IN USE BY GRIEFERS TODAY.
  25. 1. OMG so pink 2. No cute Patch Linden 3. I wish we would return to the old days a bit more when they did this more often 4. Number 3 makes me feel old now and my Av is only young
