  1. Fair enough. People can be extremely rude, probably due to them thinking they're better than others while showing just how untrue that is.
  2. Attractiveness is the most shallow, and probably most pathetic, aspect of humanity because it has no real goal other than to increase the population. There is, as you probably guessed, no such thing as one beauty standard, other than (perhaps) healthy. But we don't even understand what is and is not healthy. A chubby person can be very healthy, but some people wouldn't find them attractive. Also, a slim person could be sickly or basically have anorexia and still be considered attractive. People who live in parts of the world where food is difficult to come by would probably consider someone who's obese to be very attractive because that obese person is likely to be more healthy (or at least considered to be more healthy). Also, people have different likes and dislikes. What I am getting at is there is no such thing as a specific standard for attractiveness. Those standards are probably going to be as varied as the Earth's population is large.
  3. I hardly wear this outfit, but here's my avatar.
  4. I think a more interesting question is: Why don't people dress sexier in real life (RL)? A reason for that might be that people are too afraid to. They don't want people thinking of them as, or calling them, a ***** for having the guts to wear something sexy. Also, people are less likely to protect you from sexual harassment if you're dressed provocatively in RL, because some people are stupid enough to think you're asking for it. Some people might also be ashamed or worried about their bodies in RL, too. As for me, I tend to dress sexy in Second Life because it makes me feel sexy. Also, I like showing off my avatar and all the hard work I put into her. Though sexy is a relative concept as many things could be considered sexy. Take men in suits, for instance, or even women who are dressed more sharply. Why do you think the who schoolgirl look is somewhat popular? That being said, I don't really have much unwanted attention from people. If you don't want someone bugging you in some way, you just have to ask nicely and they'll generally leave you be.
  5. I'm curious as to how they got your personal information, however... Here's my piece of advice: Contact your local police department. Tell them what happened, show them your evidence, and ask them how you should proceed.
  6. Lucia Nightfire wrote: The "pay my rent" bots are not hijacked accounts. That could make it significantly easier to find them and let the FBI deal with them. I'm not sure they would use their own email addresses, though you might be right.
  7. I have been seeing a lot more bots begging for money lately. The usual text is something like: "Can someone lend me 100L? Please help me complete 1250L for pay my rent, I promise pay back tomorrow." They use accounts that have been stolen, so they are unlikely to be traced to the actual person scamming other users. The scam alwys seems to be about somone who needs money to pay their rent, and I realize that sending Linden Labs an abuse report is not going to do much. The account will be removed, or given back to the orginal creator, but the scammer will just use another account. There are only two ways that I can see to stop the scam entirely. The first involves notifying everyone who has a Second Life (SL) account to be more careful when logging into their SL account. Make sure that you're logging into secondlife.com and not a phishing website. The other way involves Linden Labs (LL) forcing all bots to be registered by the owner of a group before being able to comment on that group. I would just like LL, if possible, to force bot registration (by a group owner) before allowing bots to comment. Though I suppose that will only force scammers to use non-bot text. And if there are enough scammers, then they can still cause the same problems. Perhaps it would slow them down a bit, at least.
