I have to say my opinion is that your 'struggle' keeping SL friends is not due to ptsd. SL friendships are difficult, at best, for me too.. since I work a *CRAZY" RL swing-shift schedule that keeps me away from SL most all weekend evenings. I can make 'friends' during the weekdays... be nowhere to be seen inworld during weekend evenings.... and come weekdaze again... my new-found Friends are MIA! (generally not to be seen/heard from for even months!!) RL Friendships are hard enough with all it's dynamics.. SL has some additional dynamics that make it more difficult. Primary one is 'common' inworld times to share... with timezones playing a significant portion. Somewhere here.. or inworld.. I've heard that SL is the ONLY venue where "two can meet, have a wedding, produce a fullterm offspring, and finalize the divorce".. all within the timeframe of ONE RL week!! (Your mileage may vary... mine does!) Good LUCK!!

At this time, Linden Homes are only 512sqm. You still can get another 512sqm (elsewhere) without paying tier on either. BUT to get a Linden Home go to your account dashboard, with a normal web browser at secondlife.com Follow directions for premium members. I believe they appear as a display advertisement on upper right of page. If you just want land to place your own home... just ‘buy’ or own regular mainland. All is automatic! Check you land account details on your dashboard, as well

Am unsure on the SL viewer, I will assume yes, as most would revert to default. FS has a method to manually backup/restore all your preferences ,settings, logs so you arrive as updated with older things kept. (But is several steps, manually, to accomplish it)

I can’t afford to put that much attention into a purchase. Is why I wander the neighborhoods where lots are trading... searching for that one that’s on ‘fire-sale’ and can be bought on the spot. Those are out there, just need to get map open and look around. I never did care working with a realtor either ( but could be that introverted me coming out!!) when I get tried of TPing all over mainlands... I bail out into a linden home for awhile... always available and can freely dump’em when ready to get back to trading.

Just figured out.... thru click-n-learn ways... there are Pose Stands at in-world store for Blow-Up Bento's (was checking only MP before) Further... when using that pose stand it does show that these work with my Adam head. (tho teeth aren't quite right... may work on finding a fix for that)

I seem to be able to keep my complexity (with mesh body/head) below 100,000 (+/-, with HUDs detached)... so mine's not bad! Tho I have seen other's that BLAST me into Crash-ville. I had same problem with graphics choking... tho was on embedded graphics of i7 processor. Last week I got so frustrated... run out and got a NEW card. Still economizing tho.. got the GT710 (with only 1g memory).... but HELL! I'm sooooo damn overjoyed with it.. have NOT had a problem since (outside of rez time for those other complexities!). That card was only like $40... had to drive 30 miles to get it... but HEY.. it's definitely WORTH EVERY PENNY in card/gas/time spent!

mmm. no Demo, sadly. Was wondering if it works with Adam (suppose to be Bento head). Adam (beta) head does have a few face AO's with it, nothing like Catwa tho. Then head is suppose to come with lifetime updates.... that hints of more Bento, but haven't seen any yet. Was sort'a shopping for more Adam bento stuff.. havn't bought nothing yet. I'm still toying with Cawta... am a 'click-n-learn' type... rather than reading instructions!! I do like Catwa's talk AO.. tho only seems to work when typing in Local Chat.

Well... I tried mine... Daniel Catwa... and it works good... if'in yer inta that!! Then could close/control eyes, separately.. Yes.. best option for @CarlyDarling would be to get Alice head add-on.. if it's available BUT OMG!! mine did 'get stuck' as open!! Geez, had to relog to get it straightened out... thinking now I could have taken head off and put back on, tho. My Gawd.. didn't want to go out in public looking that way, IS NOT an image I'd care to portray (often?!)!

Below is a response which I wrote in another thread (on this subject)..... tho it still applies (if not directly) Hi’s.... up front I’ll let you know that I know very little of a modeling career in SL. I have considered, and searched tho with few results. For most part, it appears to me, it’s a DIY development of you avatar And image. There are schools/academies for training, which come at a cost.... as well as all your items you’ll be modeling (read as no freebies here.. especially for GOOD stuff) That body, shapes, skins as well. Another is you’ll need to develop and grow your ‘image’ and ‘brand’ thru your profile (minimally) and on other sites such as blogs, social media, etc. in short.. all is effort and work! The Jobs will come to you if you do well for yourself. Don’t miss events to show off/strut yer stuff at events! SL15B is one you don’t want to miss, btw!! Ahh.. yes, get out and Network!!! Are you using SL viewer or FS? Then, of course, is it updated to current version? In FS there's a little check to 'hide online status' to others ( or something to that sort)... I don't know how it works, never used it often. But don't think that would change your friend's online status display while your in your viewer. As for the media plugins... those have been 'changing' over recent years. Someone else may be able to speak to that with more detail.

I believe my Catwa has it... tho i’d have to say it’s more of a ‘surprised’ look, as it’s little icon appears. You can pickup a demo head for free and check it.

This may be a stray away from thread topic.. but I'll ask here anyhow! Does anyone 'carry on' a conversation (with a friend)... using off-line IM's? Almost constantly/repeatedly.. since can't ever find in-world time together. I'm got a couple convo's going like that. The friendships are not quite 'close enough' to determine specific times/dates.

My experience when I installed a new graphic card is on first opening of FS it had pop up that told me it changed to new card from my i7 embedded graphics. So, I would assume there is a preference setting for it in FS(?).... should it not sense a change. all ran smooth and looked good! Very much different from my first opening of FS with only the i7’s embedded graphics. (Had to patch FS before it would run!)

Ahhhh! I say I See!!! Says the Blind man. ? Tho I still feel auction prices are higher than neighborhood... ignoring those lots that are insanely priced. There’s always some of those around. i explore neighborhoods closely... since as soon as buying a lot I turn around and set it for sale. I turnover lots very OFTEN. Haven’t found that one place to plant my roots!

I never won an auction, always got out bid. I think in auctions the prices go way too high.. again I pay the asked from the individual. but... just enter your bid... wait and hope you didn’t get out bid. Guess it comes to you as automagically!!! If you win. Have put bids in, and it immediately out-bids me. I don’t trust the system now, but I still shop the lots available. Usually there are others users selling out right nearby. I look those deals. Via world maps etc

I believe you are required to be a Premium member in order to use a premium sandbox tho.

i’d imagine the Lab is working with land systems.... and it’s Tuesday too! May be part of upgrading Linden Homes to 1024sqm all just guesses!! Yeah, just checked grid status, a lotta maintenance going on,including L$ transactions, all should be temporary today. I’ve never had luck with auctions... always traded lands as I open market.. as in standing on lots and buying them on the spot.
