    I find this to be a very reduced the description of Fallout... or any other game for that matter. Games are very different and have more to them than "running around and killing stuff" (unless the game is a pure Shooter). I think Second Lifes user base skewes older for other reasons. Nobody turns down SL because its not "fast paced" enough or because there isn't something to kill (by default). Second Life is old and part of the userbase aged with it. It has a harsh learning curve and is not optimised. This drives younger people away, because if they are familiar with gameing environments, thats what they expect. But the extra appeal for older generations could indeed be true.

    Originally most of those threads had a core idea when they were made, but that fizzled out after a while, which is unfortunate. I only started posting pictures, because there were suddenly other threads than the Vanity thread, which always seemed to be "too polished" to make me feel comfortable posting my unedited inworld pictures. Not all of us who dress sexy are escorts.

    No. I once showed it to my best friend, who would (at least in theory) maybe find something here to enjoy, but he didn't really have the drive to invest time in SL. His conclusion was, that SL isn't bad, but looked like it would consume to much time and probably his money, once he got into avatar customization and I guess he is right about both. I still bother him with screenshots of my decorated homes and avatar from time to time. 😄

    No 2019 born Serpentines, Emeralds or Stepfords The 'orginal batch' mentioned earlier refers to the first selection of new lastnames, that they offered to use during a name change. A good chunk of this batch is has been switched out already, so the current selection doesn't include all names that where available, when the service got introduced.

    They are selling name changes. That does not just mean "get a real last name" (of which none is from the original batches of lastnames from 2010 and earlier), but could also mean you decide not to be Nina anymore.

    Well, considering how much other things cost in Second Life (like owning a significant patch of land), I don't think they are going to make it cheaper. Especially not, if there are enough people paying the price. Too bad half the names are bad and only change, if they have been taken often enough, which, as far as I see it, hasn't happened yet.

    Not completely, it seems. I'm still logged in and I can browse around, but I end up on a error 500 page when trying to purchase something. Which is a shame, I wanted to test more make up on my male alt.

    MP stores that offer only fatpacks with the disclaimer "individual colours can be purchased at the inworld store". Not only is the direct link to the inworld store outdated, the actual store does not contain any of the products I was looking for.

    Well, you do ask for a restriction on the freedom of landowners to restrict acess to their land freely. A landowner would not even need to have a reason at all and is not obligated to give one to you. And I think that is fair. They pay for this place and they shouldn't be forced to let people be there. At the same time I am free to tell them their rules are stupid and I have done so (as well as many others on the forum) quite vocal in the past.

    Yes of course you can do that. You can ban people for simply not liking their nose or no reason at all. No sim in SL (unless its owned by LL directly) is truely "public". Actually, not allowing certain avatars based on sex is super common: Many lesbian and gay clubs don't allow visitors of the opposite sex.

    Odd choice of category (technical) for this type of question. A bit of Second Life lingu here: What you refer to as "characters" is called avatars in Second Life and people usually do not refer to Second Life as a game, as this evokes ideas about how SL functions, that are not true. Now to your question. I advice to get a bit familiar with how animations work in Second Life. Because yes, there are plenty of animations that would make your avatar look like he is pleasuring himself. Some are part of furniture animation menues, but you will also find animation HUDs that include what you are looking for. I suggest looking at the marketplace.

    Same*! If I can retain my mental health and at least a decent amount of physical health, I would like to get this old. I want to see where things go in the 21th century. *Accidents and sudden, severe illnesses aside: I have good chances to be around in 40 years. I will be young 69 then.

    Depending on when you send the report, it could simply be that LL hasn't gotten to it yet. But you won't be told about the outcome of a report anyway.

    It doesn't matter where your land is. Having land at all is not even a must-have in order to file a report. Anyone can do that.
