  1. He did say it's not released until May... Awesome cover btw. Is the story actually based on Second Life?

    dance

If you have teleported away from the person who originally invited you to dance, and you are still dancing, and doing /99 stop doesn't work, then simply logging out and back in will fix it.
  3. Look in your Objects folder, it will be there, in a box. Items bought in an in-world store don't go to the "Received Items" folder.
  4. Mine are just grey, same as my eyes in RL although the ones I have in SL are a bit darker.
  5. I have done this with my avatar. It was only possible once Slink hands came out; because with the system body you can't put an alpha on just one arm, it applies to both. So you need to replace the other hand with a mesh hand. With mesh bodies it's easier - some of them allow separate alphas on each arm, so you can "cut one off" at more or less any position you want, while leaving the other intact. Check body demos before purchase to make sure they work this way. For the stump itself, well I have no skill in making mesh or sculpts so I used a simple sphere prim, chopped in half (using Dimple rather than Path Cut). And the texture has a fade on it, so the fade masks the join between the prim and the mesh arm. To make the texture I took a couple of snapshots of the arm, front and back, and stitched them together to get a good match. Good texturing makes all the difference, it never looked half as good when I had a plain flat texture. It will never pass with close-up inspection but from a distance it looks pretty good. You can still see the join though, the stump fits outside of the mesh arm so you can see the overlap here. It has to be slightly bigger because the arm itself isn't perfectly elliptical. One thing to note; if the amputation is high, and you wear long-sleeved mesh clothes, the sleeve of the garment will be animated with your AO as though there's a whole arm inside it. Probably won't matter to the OP here as the position of the amputation looks similar to mine and I find that it works pretty well. But for an amputation above or close to the elbow you're going to be limited to short sleeved clothes only (except for applier clothes worn on the tattoo layer).
  6. Here's mine. The cottage is from Trompe L'oleil, the furnishings and landscaping are from so many places I can't even remember. The plot is just 1024m.
  7. One time in a house I shared with my ex, we saw someone on local chat with the sex talk, and found them naked and bumping pixels on the roof. I guess they must have brought their own poseballs or used a hud or something. But why... the roof? Especially when there was a perfectly good set of sex animations on the lounger by the pool? Unfortunately they didn't stay around long enough to explain the weirdness.
  8. I usually wear long mens hair and my dealbreakers are: No demo No-mod Unrigged mesh (rare with long hair but I have seen it once or twice) Looks like it was made for women, ie boob-gap between the hair and the chest - I think Skell mentioned this too. (That said, one of the styles I wear most often was actually made for women, though it's just short enough that there's no boob-gap). Looks like it was made for a bodybuilding gorilla, ie gap between the hair and the back
  9. 1. Do you keep SL apart from RL? Are you open about RL with people in SL? Do you tell your RL friends about SL? I keep them apart, mostly, except with close friends in SL. With everyone else I will talk in a very general way about my RL but nothing specific. I've told a couple of RL friends about SL, but those who aren't gamers think its weird and those who are gamers think it's boring. 2. Do you act very differently in SL than in RL? Not really, no. I'm just much better looking in SL. 3. Do you spend a lot of time in SL? Do you think you can spend less time, if RL demands it? Do you think SL is addictive? I think I spend about 6-8 hours a week on average, and yes I definitely spend less time if RL demands it. (i.e; I would be in SL more often if I had more time). 4. Do you think SL affected or changed your RL self? In a good or in a bad way? SL itself hasn't but several of the people I've met have, for sure. I have met some very wonderful and inspirational people here. I've been a supporter of Virtual Ability in SL for many years and I love how it gives freedom to people who aren't able to access the same freedoms in RL due to physical limitations. 5. Do you think SL only relationship can be considered as an RL adultery? Can you manage both relationship without getting in trouble? I think what makes this problematic is when you get up to things that make your RL partner unhappy. It's not adultery if all people involved are aware and comfortable with whatever is happening. If you have to hide it, it's adultery. Personally, I can't do it. I've stopped having romantic relationships in SL since getting involved with someone in RL, because I don't feel that it would be fair on my RL partner. But I know other people who can make it work in a way that everyone is happy. 6. What is the most important thing there is about SL for you? Half of it is the people, and the other half is being able to express my more magical/pagan/spiritual side, which I've been doing more in SL lately. 7. Do you think a lot about things that happened in SL when you are offline? Very rarely.
  10. If you're loading the profile pic inworld, take the pic in 3:4 format, save to disk, then in Photoshop squash it to square and save it at 512x512 pixels to upload as a texture. When you load the texture as your profile pic it will be stretched back to 3:4 format - this gives the sharpest picture in the right proportions.
  11. At a very magical St Patricks Day party, full of the Fair Folk, me included...
  12. This thread so old, the British Museum wants it back. I guess the most I've spent on a single item would be my mesh head. Although technically it wasn't all one item cos it's one of Catwa's pre-Bento ones, for which you buy the animation packs separately. If you buy everything, it's still cheaper than a Bento head, but not by much.
  13. I wouldn't call it racism, since it's not connected to race or ethnicity (unless they are making racial assumptions based on use or non-use of mesh), but it's certainly classism; the belief being that only certain classes of people, in this case mesh-users, are superior enough to be worth their attention. I saw this sort of thing a lot, growing up on a low-income housing estate in an otherwise-affluent English city. Didn't matter now nice, or how smart, or how good-looking you were. If you came from "the estate", none of the rich kids would want to be friends with you. Most people get over this by the time they leave school. It's sad to see it perpetuated here amongst adults.
  14. I've always been primarily an elf, my avatar's appearance is partly inspired by Maitimo, aka Maedhros from Tolkien's Silmarillion. "Matty" is short for Maitimo, not Matthew. I also used to be Neko for a long time, partly because my RL boyfriend calls me "kitten" - I can go from cute-and-purring to a ball of spitting fury in three seconds flat. And partly because when I was a stripper in a gay club, I got way more tips when I was Neko. I never got any prejudice from furries (I even dated one in-world for a while) nor from humans either. However I did find that it led most gay men to assume that I was a submissive, which is most definitely not the case. I've pretty much stopped being Neko now though, mainly because since switching to a mesh body, no-one has made an Omega-compatible tintable tiger-stripe tattoo that looks anywhere near as good as my original. Besides, I can't wear two tattoo layers at the same time anyway.
  15. Oooh. I have some pics from there. Such a beautiful place, can't believe that was 10 years ago.
  16. Shortly after I started SL in 2006, on my original avatar, I got involved in a sim called MANifesto for a couple of years. There were two or three clubs there during that time and I was employed as a dancer at all of them. It was a fun time and I made some good friends there. It closed down in, I think, 2009. This is the only pic I can find that I still have. The club was called Reds, and I was one of 7 dancers, we were all named after the 7 Deadly Sins (I was a Neko so naturally, I was Sloth). I took this pic cos Bugs Bunny and Sylvester turned up one day. I'm the guy in the background, middle-left, with the cat-ears and stripey legs.
  17. At a Hawaiian themed beach party. I apparently don't own a Hawaiian shirt but I did find these...
  18. I was about to recommend Exile too they have some really nice long hair for men. And yes, hair rigged for women doesn't fit men well at all. I think that's probably the problem with Love's hair. Actually, I think No_Match also has some mens styles that might be suitable.
  19. Beats that one where you throw your head back, open your mouth and pour the drink in your eyes.
  20. Oh I sure do, here's mine: I used to be a dancer/stripper at a gay club*, back in about 2008/9, and because I was a Neko at the time, the DJ would play this for me every week. =^.^= *(anyone remember Manifesto?)
  21. Because of the gambling rules, most of them nowadays are "no-lose" sploders with a minimum deposit of, say, L$20. If you pay in the minimum, you're guaranteed to get at least that much back. Which means that if everyone pays the minimum, everyone gets exactly the same back, which is kinda no fun at all really. It really depends on some people paying in more than the minimum, in which case they stand a good chance of losing. Then again its a traffic-generating thing so it's often to the advantage of the club staff to load it with more. Personally I prefer the trivia-balls. They generate more conversation (and I win more often!)
  22. That looks awesome. Wow, what an honour. And... that might just be the right head for me. I can't wait to try the demo.
  23. So after getting a new house a couple of weeks ago I decided that I didn't like it, so I got another, and I've spent most of the weekend re-decorating.
