These eyes are from Exodi, I think they were a freebie or a hunt gift. They're called "grey" but when you look closer they're almost hazel.

Thanks Torley! I love your pictures. I guess if the places are gone it wouldn't help much. Maybe the sim name could be overlaid over the picture somehow, when it's on the login screen?

Well I can't do it the way you do because I already have a debit card on file, which worked fine until it reached its expiry date a couple of months ago. But If I go to "update payment details", exactly the same way as I've always done before, it won't allow it, even though it's a replacement debit card for the same bank account. It doesn't even say "pending" for an hour like it used to. It just flat refuses the card immediately. And yes I've checked with my bank and they haven't blocked SL.

The main difference is that on Facebook, everyone else can see who your friends are. On SL, no-one but you can see them. So there's far less drama about who's friended with whom and "i-won't-be-your-friend-because-you're-friends-with-HER!" Sometimes I think "Friends" was a really bad choice of word for lists like these, because they're often used for lots of other purposes too. The word itself generates drama.

My best friends, in both SL and RL, are people who are not similar to me, although there's always something we have in common. It's difficult to maintain a friendship when there is no common ground at all.

I often help newbies and I often friend them to make it easier for me to tp them to helpful places or freebie stores. Very few of them maintain contact after that first day and I will delete them once they've been there long enough that I've forgotten who they are. People who are or were actual friends don't get deleted even if they haven't logged on in a long time.

So why does Mily's card work but not mine? The list on that wiki page says credit and debit cards are fine but mine doesn't work (and it is not a prepaid or gift card, it's a legitimate Visa debit card attached to a UK bank account).

I don't have a house in SL now but when I did, it mattered not one jot to me if anyone else wandered through while I'm not there. It's not like they can damage anything or leave used condoms on the floor. I wouldn't even know they'd been there (unless I used a visitor counter, I guess). But I wouldn't want to have strangers wandering in while I was there.

I am also in the UK and when my debit card expired I was unable to replace it with another. No bank card or credit card will work any more. I've lost my land because of this. The only thing you mighr be able to do is buy L$ from a third party website but frankly I don't trust them. As far as I know there is currently no possible way for a UK resident to update their payment info.

I think its because you are in the UK. I can't change the billing info on my account either My debit card is out of date and I can't update it. They're supposed to be making changes and adding more options but for now it seems that no UK cards will work. I've been forced to give up my land because of this.

Only a very small handful of RL locations have been modelled in SL. Ones that do, often disappear after a short while, because the creator cannot afford to keep it open or because they move on to other projects. Ones that I know are still there are Dublin, London (Marble Arch), and I think Barcelona. Most places in SL are not copies of anywhere in the real world, they're totally new creations.

I'm not skilled enough to make anything that doesn't go straight into the trash. But I don't do much shopping either. I have a look that I like and I don't change it much.

It's not just you. And it's not just them either. It's just another bug. This is why pants with prim cuffs are so popular.

If the spam is coming from an object, take a look at the email you get from an offline IM. It should give the inworld slurl of the object, so you can then go there and AR/mute it. And I'm sorry to hear that you've been affected by the earthquake I hope things get better there soon.

Alhya, you should check out Virtual Ability Island and HealthInfo Island (they're adjacent to one another). They have lots of info on issues related to health and disabilities, and lots of people who I'm sure could give an informed and educated viewpoint on your questions. Personally, my RL doesn't give me much time for playing SL lately so I never get to the point where my online time is impacting on my health. I can see that it might though, if I was disabled enough that I couldn't work, for instance. I think one of the big things is making sure you get enough time away from the computer to eat properly, and get sufficient physical exercise (as appropriate to one's physical abilities).
