  1. You don't need the dev kit, just the template files from the website. Load the UV file into your praphics program. Start with a base flat layer in whatever skin tone you want, and basically its a case of starting to paint in, on different layers, the various features, highlights and shading etc. Use a different layer for each feature so you can adjust them separately without essing up whats underneath.. When I made my skin, I used photos of real eyes and lips and noses, and copied them into my template, and use the warp tool (liquify in Photoshop) to shift it round until it fit the UV map, then adjusted the colour and blended them into the base skin layer. Matching at the neck is the hardest part, but if you use Firestorm, here's a trick. - Make a new tatt layer, wear it and add your face skin texture to it as a LOCAL texture (don't actually upload it), but leave the edit window open. Now, any changes you make and save in your graphics program will update on your avatar, so you can make subtle changes to even out any seams around the neck. It's much easier if your body skin includes a face as well; then you needn't worry about the neck at all; just blend your own face into transparency under the chin and all round the neck, and wear it over the top of your existing face skin. I'd advise not bothering with eyebrows at all; they're very hard to draw and there are so many nice ones on the market anyway. A word of caution - it took me a whole year to make my first skin and another year before I was fully happy with it (and even then, it isn't fit for sale because it still has seams that I can't be bothered to repair).
  2. Its a SL bug rather than a Belleza bug. Huds often stop working and once they become unresponsive, the only fix is a redelivery (or unpack a stored copy of your original purchase). It happens most often if you wear the hud whilst teleporting, or if you crash. I find it happens more often with my Maitreya hud.
  3. Its the opposite for me. An IM is a personal, private phone call. I do not want to receive unsolicited phone calls from people I don't know, especialy when the reason they're calling is because what they intend to say would, if they said it out loud in public, show everyone what an enoumous d-bag they are.
  4. I actually did buy this last year, and it does look pretty good (though, less so in-world than in the MP image). Still, when you put it in a dimly-lit gothic castle, who's gonna notice? And, thank you.
  5. Not a lot of noticeable difference really, unless you're camming in really close. I wear the same skin on all my bodies (Maitreya, Freya, Erika and Reborn) and the only difference I've noticed is that the position of the bellybutton doesn't always match up between one body and another. I made the skin myself, and the difference isn't noteworthy enough for me to bother making a fresh skin with a repositioned bellybutton for each body. I just checked all of my bodies to compare - my skin has the bellybutton in exactly the right place for Freya and Reborn, on Maitreya it's slightly too high, and on Erika it's too low. So if you have a Maitreya skin, the bellybutton will appear a bit too low on the Freya body. But the difference is tiny.
  6. Yes that's right. You can even boot her out of the group afterwards, if you want, and it will still work. But she won't be able to rez anything, if you do that.
  7. While I like the idea of personal ads (it would solve the "How do I find a friend/Mistress/Sugardaddy here?" questions), I fail to see how it could be used for promoting places. When I browse the destination guide, I'm not searching it for particular names or keywords, I'm basically just browsing the pictures for a pretty place to visit and take photos. I don't think it would be possible to handle a search of personal ads in a similar way. I mean, they already tried it with the "Places" thing and it was a huge flop.
  8. BOM is solely to do with texture (skin, makeup, tattoos etc), nothng to do with clipping through clothing. Make sure you have the newest version of the body (Verion 5.3 - get a redelivery from the mainstore if you don't have this version). Make sure you have the BAKES ON MESH button active in your hud - SKINS/BASE tab. (if the text is white, it's active, if the text is black, it's not). Make sure you are wearing clothes in the right size; You can only wear Maitreya-sized clothes on a Maitreya body. If the clothes come with an alpha layer, wear it. If they don't, use the ALPHA section of the hud to hide parts that clip through. Well made clothes rarely need this but cheaper ones that are less-well made often do.
  9. The Legacy body is very complex (in terms of mesh triangles - about ten times more than Maitreya), and is consequently very laggy - so it will take much longer for any changes to render in your viewer than it will with Maitreya and Tonic. This is one of the many reasons I've never considered buying Legacy. I can't explain the toggling off and on of the BOM settings though, but again I suspect it's also somehow related to the complexity of the body, or the scripts within it.
  10. Never seen this before but my guess is that the creator has made a rigging error and included some of the head/face "bones" by mistake. Actually I have seen something like this before - I bought a hair which was rigged in such a way that the back of the hair as well as the front was connected to the breast sliders. So as your breasts went out, the hair stuck out more at the back as well as the front, and if your chest was flatter, the hair at the back was actually inside you altogether. I pointed this out to the creator who apologised, re-rigged it and sent me a new one.
  11. This mirror. It's just a flat textured prim, but hey, you can't upload your own for L8. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Gothic-Mirror/2635240
  12. Not from a "gaming-in-SL" perspective becanse winning an argument would not count as "material gain".
  13. There's a couple of tricks that can help. Teleporting away (to a different region) and back again. Your viewer will start again once you return to the original location. Changing your active group tag (for some weird reason this also triggers your viewer to re-render the scene). This was a thing years ago but apparently it still works; I used it just yesterday. Check your preferences to make sure your bandwidth settings are not too high or too low. Either extreme will cause issues with rendering. The sweet spot will depend on your internet speed but you shouldn't ever need to go above 1500. Lower your graphics settings and draw distance - this can help speed it up, and then you can raise them again once the scene is fully rendered.
  14. I wonder if there's a possibility of implementing some kind of captur task. I know its possible because years back, when camping chairs were still a thing, some places actually used this. There would be a pop-up asking a simple maths question and if you didn't answer correctly, and quickly enough, you'd be unseated from the chair and ejected from the parcel.
  15. Taking a break form decorating my new home.
  16. Yep I am 99.9% sure these bots are playing Tiny Empires. For some reason (probably related to the mechanics of the game) these circles almost always contain exactly 11 avatars. At least they are being thoughtful and staying out of the way of privately-owned parcels, although they do occasionally cause issues of access to sailable regions.
  17. I'm so sorry to hear that you are leaving (though I do understand your reasons). I would second RFL as a trustworthy charity to donate to. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. 🤗
  18. Huds sometimes "break" especially if you wear them while teleporting. I have it happen most frequently with the Maitreya hud, I've lost count of the number of times I've needed to unpack a new one. So it's not necessarily an asset-server issue. Just need to remember to detach all your huds before teleport. Unfortunately, once it's broken there is no fix, except as Lewis suggested, unpack from your stored original purchase box, if you still have it. Redelivery is no longer an option for Slink bodies.
  19. I usually find that I don't have enough prims available for messy. My RL is messy enough.
  20. The textures are full perm, I sent you a box of them
  21. Why would you even need to wear something that is invisible, if no-one wll see it anyway? All it does is increase the number of mesh triangles you're wearing, which increases your avatar complexity, and increases the lag you're causing to yourself and others. If your panties are getting turned invisible everyone can see what you've got anyway, you may as well just take them off.
  22. Given recent off-site activity, maybe all profiles should be flagged as such. Is there a way to flag ones own profile as Adult (even if it isn't)? Or would we have to post a saucy pic and wait for someone to report it?
  23. Right. Its use for this purpose is an exploit. Saying "this is public info" is like saying your bank details are public because a hacker stole them and published them on 4-Chan
