All hangouts, not just beaches, are less & less frequented, it's just the way SL has evolved. People spend more time in shopping events and more time in their own homes, and less time in public hangout places than they used to. It seems like most SL chat and socialising happens in Discord these days.

It wasn't even that. It was more like the outskirts of a semi-abandoned Siberian oblast. 😁 Personally, I have lived in every theme at least once and Fantasy is in my top 3 favourites (along with Trads and Sakuras) If When I return to Bellisseria, it will likely be Fantasy that I return to first. I kinda want to stay a whole year, so I can see all the changing seasons. I do think that the majority of the houses are too big though. They are hard to furnish within the LI allowance, and there isn't much fantasy furniture/decor available for sale. I got around the last issue by using mostly traditional/non-fantasy furniture.

One of the most common causes is that something you are wearing upon login is corrupted or missing from the database. Try a character reset (wear one of the starter avatars). If that fixes the problem, then the above is correct. You can try re-wearing each item from your previous outfit one at a time until you identify what's broken or missing, and replace that thing with something else. If switching to a starter avatar does not help, look at your internet service connection, download speed, ping time. If you're on wireless, get an ethernet cable and plug into your router.

Yes, it takes a little while, maybe an hour or two.

I've seen it on one product only (also a tree), which I stopped using more than two years ago. Haven't seen it since. So, it's definitely not a new or growing thing. I wonder if your tree was made by the same creator as mine?

Those people are by no means the majority of SL users, or even the majority of voice users. Voice has its place for people who cannot read or type easily. I've lost count of the number of times people have suggested that I use voice, because I have only one hand to type with. But even with this disability, I would still rather type than use voice. For all of the reasons already stated in other posts above.

I also took a break 2014 to 2017 so I have almost no pics from those years (just a tiny handful so I did log in occasionally) but at that time I was heavily involved in World of Warcraft. Legion killed WOW for me though, and I gave up and returned to SL when I reached that stage.

Surely the head wouldn't have ended up in the arms of his widowed wife in the carriage, but more likely rolling down the track until found by some bloke from Stoke-on-Trent who was trespassing on the railway out walking his dog.

I've had mesaages offering photography services; always from male avatars who, I presume, have not read my profile. I doubt that any of these are financial scams. More likely it's the old profile photo --> nude photoshoot --> desperate begging to do the nawties.

As another reminder to the OP - even if your skin is BOM, you can still use applier cosmetics on top. I like to use applier lipstick because the hud allows to blend/fade it, which makes it look a bit more subtle. BOM add-ons can't be faded in this way.

I recently bought a new kitchen on the MP (one of those modular types) and I really liked it so I left a 5 star review and a few days later I received another piece of furniture from him, as a thank you. It goes really well with my decor so I'm going to buy some more to match Are we allowed to share creator names if we're calling them out for good products/services? Definitely worth a try if the OP had any no-copy stuff left out. 2 weeks is nothing - they can stay "available" indefinitely (at least until the server is re-purposed for another region). When I was on the committee as a builder for Fantasy Gay Pride, we had two regions that would be available for a month and then mothballed again until the following year. Our first task when the regions went online each year was to return everything that had gotten left behind the year before. There was always someone who was too slow to pick up their stuff at the end of the event.

Use a BOM skin. As long as the skin for your head and the skin for your body are from the same store and in the same tone, it will match. If yo have an "all in one" skin, like 7 Deadly Skins do, then it will match automatically. Just make sure you use the correct neck size fitting on your Maitreya HUD; I think its Type 2 for Lelutka and Catwa HDPro, and type 1 for everything else. If you use the wrong one, the neck fit will be a slightly different size.

It's always seemed a bit pointless to me, though I suppose its a hang-over from 2006, the year when basic/free accounts were brand new, and it was used as an anti-griefer tool. I guess it could help a little if you're being plagued by a stalker who keep setting up loads of new alts to stalk you; there's a limit (5 I think) to the number of accounts that can share a payment method.

I would have said (in local chat) something like "Wow, what a coincidence! The exact same thing happend to me too! Remember, I told you about it a few months ago?"

My suggestion, if you can afford lelutka, is one of those. Lilly or Sasha, from the pic posted earlier, but there are some new ones too (can't remember their names because the style of face I was looking for is very different from yours). If you go EVOX (such as AK) you'll need a new skin also, but Lelutka heads can use either EVOX or classic skins. If you are happy to sick with non-EVOX heads, using the standard template, give LAQ a try too. They have loads to choose from and IIRC, they are cheaper than the others. LAQ sells the head and hud separately so once you have one, you can get others more cheaply, because you only need to buy the hud once. The Kalhene Erika body comes with three or four heads included in the pack, and even with the body included, it's still cheaper than any of the major brands, and you can still use the heads with other bodies if you want to. So it might be worth picking up a demo of Erika and trying those. Its a nice body too, and you could certainly achieve a Maitreya-style shape with it, but its not got much clothing support so not really practical to wear full time as your only body.

Anyone else thinking about this? My advice to the OP is to keep a close eye on your boyfriend and your puppy. More seriously... have you tried making your own clothes? You can buy some full-perm template kits relatively cheaply, make your own textures for them. (The kits come with blank or simple textures that you can export into Photoshop or GIMP, modify and re-import as a new texture). Good luck to your copycat, copying something that's absolutely unique and cannot be purchased anywhere. (And if they DO copy it, then you have absolute proof that they are using illegal copybot software, and you can then AR them).

You were fortunate that you didn't lose a large amount of money. Unfortunately there isn't any way to get it back, unless you can somehow make contact with the previous landlord and they are feeling generous (which doesn't seem likely in this case). No, renters would not be notified if a region closes (unless, again, the landlord was kind enough to inform their tenants). Even land managers don't get notified; I was one of the managers on an estate which closed last year following the death of the owner. While we could figure out roughly when the regions would close, because we knew when the payment was due, we didn't know the exact date and one day Linden Lab just turned it off without warning. Fortunately we had no paid tenants and those who did live there knew that it was going away soon-ish. I warned people a few weeks beforehand not to leave out anything no-copy, because when a region is closed, the items on it do not get auto-returned. Also - L$200 per month is insanely cheap, even for a very small property, so I'm not really surprised it closed down. It wouldn't take the landlord long to realise that there's no way they can maintain that sort of pricing without paying a huge amount out of their own pocket.

You can't share inventory items, unless you created them yourself (or it's otherwise full-perm - but check the creator's Terms of Service for things like mesh items and textures) you can just drop it into the slot at the bottom of your alt's profile to share it. Or right-click the item in your inventory and select "Share" from the menu, then select your alt's name. If you have several things to share at once, you can stick them in a box or onto a notecard. You can do this with objects, textures, landmarks etc.

I have no less than four body morphs on this shape. One to fix the shoulders, one to lower the breasts, one to raise the butt and one to flatten the belly (because I have bodyfat right up at about 80 here, but I'm supposed to look muscular, not fat).

This, from the "Misfits & Heroes" blog linked above, seems to be the pertinent part: I don't think it was irony. I think Linden Lab chose it on purpose for the above reasons

If you can't (or don't want to) link the luggage to your car but still want to travel with it, you can make a separate linkset and attach it to yourself, then edit it into place once you're sitting in the car. Since you don't move (relative to the vehicle) whilst seated, the luggage will also remain in place, at least until you get out of the car or crash on a region crossing or something like that. Attaching the luggage separately to yourself means that the vehicle script won't be affected by any linkset change.
