  1. They could still make "HopelessHeineken Resident" or "CardboardMcDonalds Resident" etc now. Not much difference, except for an extra space..

    Alt

My alt started as an experiment to have a totally free account, using only freebies. That didnt last long, and now my alt regularly demands shopping funds from me. This is the biggest risk with having alts.
  3. This is an awesome idea. Keep them all together then they won't get lost in all the other news noise
  4. @Abnor Mole Thank you so much! ❤️
  5. If you're looking for a cheap body that fits Maitreya Petite clothing, there's Vania from Lucybody, I think it's L$500. The main drawback to this body is very limited functionality, and no nail polish appliers exist for it (even the applier kit in the store to make your own no longer works with it) and third party mesh nails don't fit, so you're stuck with half a dozen default ones on the body hud. But it fits Maitreya clothing MUCH better than the Analexa body. They also have Natasha which is totally flat.
  6. I know that we can't add Bellisseria events (at one of the community hubs) into the official events listings. But, are we allowed to post them in the events section of the forum? Or somewhere within the Linden Home section?
  7. This often happens if you rez a no-copy item on a mesh surface or inside a mesh building. If you re-log immediately after the disappearance, it might come back. Or it might not. If it doesn't your only hope is to contact the seller, show them your transaction history where you paid for it, and hope they are kind enough to send you a replacement. For future reference, always rez no-copy items outside of a mesh building, on a plain prim or base terrain.
  8. Wow that map brings back memories. I got a house in Buitenwijk shortly after release (which I turned into a pub that no-one ever visited), and I used to ride my horse over the open plains in the middle where the campers are now.
  9. That's great news. Congrat's @Henri Beauchamp it's long overdue! 😄
  10. All the free male bodies are actually worse (or at best, no better) than the classic non-mesh body. Anyone wanting a male avatar is better off sticking with a classic body and head until they can afford to buy Belleza Jake and Lelutka. I'd advise him to hold off until Nux is released, try that first, and then save to upgrade to Jake/Lelutka if Nux isn;t good enough for him.
  11. That is one of the most disgustingly obnoxious and unprofessional things I have ever heard from a supposed "business". First, it's your own business practises that are causing people to "go off like a Karen" in the first place. So its YOU who is responsible for that behaviour, not them. If you didn't do that, they would not be complaining. Second, it shouldn't matter whether people complaining are being polite or not. Politeness is subjective anyway. Us Brits swear and curse all the time, it doesn't mean we're being impolite. It's just filler words. Regardless of the attitude of the complainant, you should still be offering good customer service, every time. Third, only a tiny percentage of SL users even know you exist. The rest have no way of finding out because they don't read the forums. Put yourself in the shoes of a person who has just come out of an abusive relationship, and whose ex-partner has become threatening and even more abusive. So they leave their parcel and rent another in secret. But what's this? Some alt accounts with disturbingly similar names are cropping up in their region every day. Has the abuser found them? Is he stalking them? They move again, and again these strange alts show up every day. How did he even do that, they didn't tell anybody. He must have hacked their computer! So now they are even more terrified. But they have no way of knowing. Your website says in the FAQ: "Q. Are you stalking me?" "A. No. Who are you again?" This is blatantly false. You're stalking everyone, and you DO know who we are because you've already got our data. Your bots are causing some people unbearable anxiety, they might even be causing someone to harm themselves. What you should be doing is sending a notecard, to every land-owner and every tenant on every region that your bots visit, to explain yourselves. You also need to include a full list of your bots by name, the opt-out information, along with the website url and the RL name and contact details of the data controller, as required by law.
  12. I think so. I know that when I teleport, especially to a busy place, it often takes a minute or so for all the attachments to find their owners. People often tell me "Your arm hasn't rezzed, you might need to rebake/refresh". I reply no, it was a tragic teleport accident, and it never came back. 😁
  13. I've noticed this frequently on my alt over the past few weeks, but never on myself. Which is odd, and makes me suspect an attachment, as all our other settings are exactly the same.
  14. The great thing about the Erika wardrobe pack is that a lot of it is mod, so you can add your own textures.
  15. The only last name I really want is copyright to the Tolkien estate, so it won't ever be a possibility. And the name I've used in my display name (McKenna) has been and gone, so I can't have that one either.
  16. Back when the skills page was first implemented, the intention would have been referring to building with prims. There was no mesh and even custom animations weren't a thing, back then. But I bet a few fashion models checked it, thinking that's what it meant.
  17. First, you can only do so on the SL Marketplace. There's no such thing as a wishlist for in-world shopping. When you see an item you want to add to your wishlist, look at the sidebar on the right hand side of the listing. The link to add it to your wishlist is there (the second of the yellow stars). Adding to your Favourites list is an option too, if you want to add something privately that no-one else can see. Once you've added stuff to your wishlist, access it here, from the dropdown menu at the top: If you want to share your wishlist with someone, so they can buy you a gift off it, scroll right to the bottom to the link "View and share your wishlist"
  18. The Duck is fine, and it does provide answers to these questions. The top link is to the SL Knowledgebase and the next few are the wiki. A few Youtube tutorials come up as well. That said, it always comes across (at least to me) a bit rude to tell people to google it. Yes, the search will throw up a list of links, but the confused user doesn't know which of those links are actually useful and trustworthy. It doesn't take more than a few seconds to google it yourself, grab a useful and trustworthy link and post that instead.
  19. I could see that, if they were fishing for... well, not fish.
  20. I would have been one of those people. Except, the first scam phish I ever received, was for a service that I wasn't subscribed to, so I knew right away that it was fake. If it had been something I had been subscribed to at the time, I would have entered my credentials without a second thought. That was at least 15 years ago and of course, now I know better. But I can certainly see how someone who is non-techy, never reads tech news, doesn't participate in forums like this and doesn't use social media for anything beyond their little circle of friends and family, could easily not know enough about it to take the proper precautions.
  21. Khara doesn't appeal to me - too skinny for my taste and has much the same issues that Lara does. I like a chunky, muscular body and Freya does that best for me with Reborn and Erika not far behind. That saggy butt though - this mod (or something similar) will fix it. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Ass-Modifier-Kit/18494479 I use it on Freya which has the same issue.
  22. Me neither. Because if I'm asked to change my avatar or leave, I change. Or leave, in good grace and without objection or kicking up a fuss.
  23. Spirit of Chiaroscuro is a small, welcoming hangout catering to the fantasy/pagan/lgbt community and all avatar types are welcome, including but not limited to fantasy types. We don't have sailing (as we're on mainland, landlocked and half-way up a hill)*** but we have a nice hangout spot, a stone circle for dancing and ritual, a healing house and spa, and a party spot for the Saturday parties. *** Our landlord has a rez-spot for boats down by the lake in the same region which anyone is welcome to use.
  24. My guess is that the owner, staff member or a very close friend of one of the above, wanted to be a mermaid, but didn't want to be a dark elf. So they made a new rule to accommodate that one person's wishes. My other guess is that, unless you are a staff member or very close friend of the owner, you're not going to be able to get them to change their mind. Because this region's primary product is sex, and their customers, on the whole, want sex with humans. I'd also lay a bet that it's more about skin colour and hair colour (in a "does it look like a colour that's possible in humans" sense rather than a racist sense) than anything else. I've been an elf for 14 years, and I've hung out at this particular place many times, with no issues and I've never been asked to leave, even when my pointed ears were visible. But, I have a skin colour and hair colour that's common in humans. And I don't normally have horns. It's not discrimination though, it's simply a dresscode, because in SL, it's never about something you can't change. Your avatar's species, size, manner of dress, hairstyle, shape and skin are all changeable. If you want to visit a place, you have a choice; change your appearance to meet their dresscode, or don't visit. It's the same thing as the fancy swanky restaurant uptown that doesn't allow guests wearing jeans and sneakers. If you're not willing to change your appearance, that's on you, not on the region owner. I have to say though, I think your avatar is absolutely gorgeous.
