  1. If you really want to think about which stocks will go up .... just look at what Pelosi has invested into for a guide... side eye/politicians do very well in the stock market. She purchased Roblox....(and offloaded her Meta position way before the dip). Not financial advice for clarity
  2. Honestly outside of being a large land baron - the only real profit from Second Life is content creation and it requires significant branding, presence and skillset (or a team to give you that skillset like some creators who buy it in from external teams). Honestly you would be better investing money in alternative things far away from Second Life and use any hobby money to simply enjoy yourself in world and treat it as entertainment money, As you are creative you may be better selling things on Etsy and use the income from that for your SL fun!
  3. Will it impact Second Life - no. Many SL brands do use Facebook (we do). The only way I could ever see this impacting was if the Facebook and Instagram stores could be integrated with the SL Marketplace, but that's not on the cards (ever I suspect) so the share price or even demise of Facebook really wouldn't be an issue for SL. Tilia misconception your original post contained has already been corrected. Personally the Meta drop was bound to happen particularly with Apple's privacy changes. Those who (really) know the market shorted it from the moment those changes started to come through.
  4. Hey thank you - super kind of you to do that! I just assumed new and I know their newer stuff is well made hence thought it may be due to the LODS. There is generally a.... it's only 1 LI so "quality" mindset (not in this thread but sometimes I see in SL) hence why I thought 7 LI was reasonable "if" it had good LODS. BTW I am still playing with LODS on a kitchen - 2 months later LOL still not finished!
  5. It's may be because she makes fairly proper LODS so 7 LI could be reasonable for an item like this.
  6. hah, true true I think the list in reality should be quite long! These are the ones I interacted with most and have fond memories on their contributions directly. Spike - when I accidentally rezzed a self replicating thing on my region back in the early years. Much laughter and him patiently dealing the carnage I created. Just that in world support and interaction made SL a fun new frontier in those early days. Babbage - for the contributions outside of SL too and a conference back in the day in virtual worlds and hearing his passion over the meta verse. Torley - well we all know what an amazing contribution he made and his artistic talent. I will always think Torley when I see a Watermelon!
  7. I was just P*ssing by .... couldn't resist.
  8. Now just for Spike Linden and Babbage Linden (and Torley!) to come back! Full House Welcome back Andrew!
  9. All that above, plus you will need to (if you have not previously) submit your W9 (or W8-Ben if non US) and you'll get the 1099K each year (if a minimum of 600 USD worth of Linden Dollars are sold on the Lindex to cover tier or cash out annually as of 2022).
  10. The general way the new good events work are: Great unique concept Small amount of great creators Success and creators do well and customers love it Add 120 more creators to mix and the fees go up 800% Boo! Just my personal opinion - joking aside, as creators it is all going to depend on what you want/rationale for creating (profit/hobby/fun etc). For consumers, there are different drivers from pure consumerism, FOMO, competing through to just a general love of supporting their favourite creator/collecting items. We no longer (mostly) do monthly deadline driven events as we found it difficult with our approach/priorities. Personally, we have found Saturday Sale to be a good balance for our customers. 1. Not required to do each week so we can do based on our own schedule/RL needs. 2. Gives all our customers the ability to get an item at a huge discount over 2-3 days so great for those on a budget or our long term customers who collect each release. All new releases go through the sale first for that reason, 3. Doesn't really impact the lifecycle/profit of a product as after it's back to full price and normal channels apply each region or marketplace shopping. We win, our customers also win. I get swamped with event invites (so much so I banned them on my profile and some still can't read) as people think that's so easy - 500-7000 a month per creator in fees if they can get 100 creators - bank! The reality is due to the saturation of events unless they bring something new to the table not yet discovered/format - I can't see it will survive long term . Albeit niche events if they are getting enough sales/creators, then why not? The good part of events is you can simply ignore them if they are are held at a hosted location. We continue to do regular sales during the year too for customers (for the usual things like Black Friday). I know we may have a different approach/opinion to others as Scarlet is so old so we have our own customer base and channels we leverage for our products.
  11. I have noticed an uptick in these posts on avoiding USD and going "crypto" since the tax law changes come in on Jan 1st around IRS reporting from PayPal etc (no longer 200 transactions/20K it's now 600 USD regardless). Coincidence? Hate to break the bad news but Tilia is also a money service business, so regardless you will still get reporting if you transact sales achieving a minimum of 600 USD in a year on Lindex.
  12. And the silly thing is Tilia just needs to incorporate the Plaid API and off they go with real time bank account cash out e.g. like your broker can do. On the OP - L$ will never be a crypto. LL needs it to stay in that token definition and not get into virtual currency regs. Tilia could push their model as they are a MSB into wallets etc but as they haven't since inception yet secured any real progress in the market, I am not sure what their plan will be/if they would even be equipped as it's just so far behind the market at this stage. Companies like Gemini have already shown what can be done etc.
  13. Flickr messages can go unread (honestly Flickr is a rubbish on notifications). Do they have a Facebook? Another tact- abuse report the vendor machine - you can right click it (think you then have to hit "more" a few times to get report) - and select Fraud. Not sure whether anything will happen, but as it's not delivering the advertised product and taking money, it will at least flag it. I would also IM the creator (no notecard) as a final polite attempt to state you would love to get the correct hair today, if not, as you haven't heard back you'll sadly have to report the vendor to stop other customers having the same incorrect item.
  14. Also you could find out if they have social media eg Facebook and public post / tag / Dm. Tends to get the attention of creators if they, for some reason, are not seeing notecards etc.
  15. I think the weekend sales are positive for SL. Mainly as it allows many on restricted income to get (some) great products if they like to shop. As a long time merchant (hobbyist only) the income on those is equivalent to a full price item when you take 12 month revenue on a product into account - it makes no impact (to me) but I appreciate others may have different experiences. Price low for the sale, then release at full price works very well. Gacha well no comment there, just glad we stopped doing those in 2020 as it was a cluster due to the duplicative bug and questionable event practices by some. Lindex, volume is consistent over 2021 and did not shrink too much after the 2020 boom. At times we would see up to 120,000,000 parked at the top 3 rates, so the current rates/volume and thru put are healthy. A fast cash out will remain at 241 (same day) at the moment. Lindex always slow down Sat - Monday due to "weekend" sellers...
  16. I prefer to display and we use a linear path and sign posts plus a full catalog with direct teleports to each house (for those who don't like to wander). Most of our customers seem fine with 4 sims We have 15 years of products albeit we retire things often, so the space is essential for H&G creators. I do have an outlet with a rezzer for old builds too
  17. I have had to go over 4 sims LOL - and on my main region still have like 20K prims available. it's so frustrating! <3
  18. I have another one sorry (so greedy so hope I am not on the naughty list). A region that is the size of 4 current regions (Mega Region) with 30K Prim limit for no more than 300 USD a month. Thank you Santa.
  19. Let's hope so - it's not difficult/expensive to use the Plaid API and it takes the burden off Tilia in terms of the linkage as they just to connect to Plaid. Likely a lot less than PayPal fees on comparison for users in the US.
  20. Real time Cash Out for established ID checked merchants. Link to Plaid also so we can link our bank accounts for cash out versus using PayPal. OK that was two.
  21. It will be both if they are using the Money Service Business determination as Tilia already do 1099Ks. And you'll see the normal fun: The Tilia one will be Gross. PayPal's Net. You'll then have to claim the deductions to tally between Gross and Net for the fees which create the difference (cashing out fee and Lindex selling fee). No difference to today basically - same format it's just triggered at 600 USD instead of 20K USD..
  22. Also check the colour box in edit on SL that it is white and not grey… some 3D programs default it to grey.
  23. Have had the issue too. Particularly when on edit and I end up standing on the thing I am editing. I thought just me…. and 100pct there is muscle memory with most applications you use regularly one of my 3D apps changed the zoom method and months later I am still tripping up trying to use the new format slowing my workflow that I had followed for 9 years.
  24. that's quite interesting and could solve for the memory demand - I like your thinking!
  25. Separate: Imagine: Bed Bed Side Unit Large Cabinet Small Cabinet Rug Curtains etc etc Some may be scripted themselves e.g. opening closing doors. Each may want to have up to 14 different colour sets (and some items may have 2-5 textures each - mostly 1 mesh some more complex 2 linked meshes) One Hud to change colours, perhaps metal accents, fabric etc - hence why the UUIDs may hit 500+. It's a monster! .
