  1. @roderic1980 have some prims on the ground, select all of them and click LINK when done. If the linkset you want to link has to have a specific ROOT/Parent prim, then you must select that last. Often a HUD needs to have scripts added to the root, or the root may be the backing prim. In some objects you make the root the prim that is in the centre of the linkset to make it easier to rotate or stretch etc. Unlinking you select and Unlink, but if you are trying to unlink only one or more of the prims, and not all of the prims, go into EDIT linked parts, select the parts and click UNLINK, then only those will be subtracted from the linkset. I hope that helps, it is hard to describe blindly but just play around by rezzing three prims and take turns at making one of the three the root.
  2. Omg I love you....if I eat something with it in and bite into the stem instant soap perfume poison taste, so overpowering cannot finish the food. Here it is called corriander, and it was not so common in regular food at all, would only pop up in some asian foods, so was never prepared for it, or expected it enough to ask for none to be used, as it coukd be years apart. I found out two years ago my Mum is exactly the same, but never expected it to be a real thing, so thank you 😚 it is more common now, so I ask for none even if not used, just to be sure, it is mostly the stems that ruin everything.
  3. They used to have discounts like that, the hubs, you had to own four sims I think it was, and as long as you provided some kind of learning , info type portals they were discounted, the rest of the land you could do your clubs, stores etc...then they got rid of the discount and most of them closed down.
  4. I like the TPs too but I often forget my friends aren't premium so if I get in first I then have to wait and feel bad for taking up space I HAVE PRIORITY TP GUILT I am premium have been since I first started a month or so later, did that Math I like the badges suggestion, I think adding more things to profile would be great. A fantastic premium perk would be bringing back RATINGS. I loved them, they were so nice to have a customer IM you and say great job I added a rating etc, and if it was premium only it would be less likely to be abused as it obviously was in the past, it would also mean people would more likely stay premium to keep their ratings visible. There was a really cool thing seeing peoples ratings and how many they had given, it made interactions really interesting.
  5. If you rez a full perms box, then add a copy only item to contents that you have fullperms of (or you are creator of, also meaning full perms) and you pick it up, in inventory it will show as full perms, but if you go to properties it will say copy only, so if you sent that, thats how it would go, however...if in properties you reclick mod and transfer, then pass it, the outside will be full perms, the inside copy only. As most AOs are open source origins, its possible they left them as such, how zhao gave them to the world.
  6. It can be a trick of perms, when you pick it up off the ground it will possibly revert, but the creator when they picked it up could change it back to full perms in inventory. I am probably explaining that wrong, but it is possible to have different permissions be visible, it is why when something shows as no mod that is because of its contents it is being set up wrong, they should fix the permissions in inventory after pick up to negate what the contents did. If looking for full perms animations or poses there are a few big stores that do for creators.
  7. Not misleading at all, I would encourage people to do so so that a creator does see it is a want by many, to perhaps rethink their perms, or rethink their colour palette, those that stick to one set of colours for everything may need a shake, not all items work with the same colours. Just as many wont IM a creator when something is wrong, for fear of interupting etc. If they don't know, how can it be fixed. As I said, contacting may never get anything, but there is never harm in respectfully trying. I once blogged that an outfit (system layers) was flattened upper lower, but was a vest over pants, I mentioned how I wished it could be worn other ways, with the vest part its own top. The bottom of vest was flattened to the pants. Then I let creator know of the post, the outfit was amazing no fault, just flattening layers was a thing...within two hours creator had opened PS separated and saved the layers, and she uploaded repackaged sent me new and put in store....I edited post to give her all the praise...that was Izzie's , she had just not imagined the tuxedo style bodysuit to be wanted differently. She is even more amazing now. Creators can often be hermits, again if done respectfully once, it could lead to changes down the line, your IM may not cause action, but it may pile on with others that do.
  8. I just popped back in and read the last few pages, the retail customer is always right stuff, nope, usually the only customers that ever try and use that line are the very ones that know they are very much in the wrong and have no basis for whatever fit they are throwing. This is RL I am speaking of, because I have so many years Working, Managing and Owning businesses to base this on. There is a very big knack to turning that around and you can if you are wanting to actually support the customer and the products you stand behind, but that is just RL stuff. Nothing more satisfying than having any negative situation like that turned around, but I also find that face to face situations differ greatly from internet interactions. I mentioned earlier on that I am always on both sides of this conversation, because I understand why some pieces have some no mod needs, and others it seems trite. @Fionalein mentioned earlier also that many in SL do not have the experience of running a business and for those of us that work alongside them or for them, or just are watchers of the goings on this is very true, truer than many would think. So they emulate the people that came before them, and one of the biggest ways that happens is permissions. I could bet that if you asked a 100 random creators why they set their perms the way they do, a rather large percentage would not know, it would be because the stores they shopped at when they started did the same. You see this a lot in SL and have done for over a decade now, that creators will do things that other stores do and they think it is standard, and are not even realising in some cases they are taking original ideas. They do what others do and until someone tells them it is wrong or why they should do otherwise they don't know. Hair for example I have seen no mod more and more often now, based on the theory that it is rigged and mesh and they cannot resize it or move strands anyway etc... forgetting someone may just want to tint it slime green for a fun halloween witch look, or they may want to set it to glow for a space night, or turn the alphas to none if clipping with hairbases and so on. They often do not know this is something people want to do, and do do, so they just lock the gates. Sometimes though you find that there is a very big misunderstanding in information provided by something else they use that leads to it. SL is English speaking when it comes to just about everything communicated, that makes it very hard on those that it is a second language. Example 1 : the scripts they use say to make sure no mod before selling so that the scripts are safe - turns into everything needs to be no mod Example 2 : NOTICES > Make sure you have full permission before sending (this was the info set in the notices dialogue for groups in the SL viewer in the past I do not know if it is different now) the message was meant to mean that you are the owner of the items you are sending, that you are not sending someone elses products without their permission..... this actually lead to people sending their items through groups FULL PERMS! - one hair fair a non english speaking creator did this and sent her whole release through the demo group, she was heart broken, lucky for us that those that realised actually came and bought everything from her and ditched the items, and we flooded the group so that her send was removed. There are so many situations I have encountered over the years with creators and customers that honestly baffle me at first but then when re-looking through their eyes realise, what they did, what they assumed was almost reasonable based on what was already evident. My own by default notecards are created NO MOD, why because I lived through the using peoples notecards to create scandal or worse use the notecards in stolen items to allude to the person being the thief etc. I also know from experience that some people do not know how to actually create a new notecard, and will use other peoples to write over and send to someone else, then leave out their name and you end up IMing the wrong person, and have to check transactions to see who may have sent it. Then you have that packing issue, making sure the box something comes in is no mod, so that nothing can happen with that if SL loses its mind. Or what about the fact that so much of SL creation and selling is double working, if you sell clothing wearables etc, you make demos, well the demos have to be NO MOD right, so then the creator has to use the same exact mesh with the same exact set up (depending on their demos) and make sure it is all MOD again, that just leads to mistakes being made, because often you set a perm and the perm changes, again I have been privvy to being sent full perms or wrong perms items by creators and caught it early enough for them to fix. Then you have gatchas on top, they send to bloggers maybe or in group to share and they have to reset all those perms to make sure that they cannot sell them, but can use them, so again chance of perms getting messed up somewhere. It is understandable that some just say NO MOD works for my workload, and if someone does have an issue, they can IM me, but that end part is often not communicated, and customers are often more used to getting no reply from creators about such things that they end up assuming they never could get that help or assistance. So creators if you do want to let people have mod options, but not make your items mod from the get go, maybe add a notecard of that, or let someone know, hey I am busy, really busy, but if you have a shade you prefer or a texture type IM me, I cannot promise you anything, but it never hurts to IM me, as I mentioned earlier, if a store does events that do recolours and the like, why not throw it in their IM that if they ever consider selling this item in one of those events, that you would love it in ___________ colour and include the colour example, again you lose nothing from doing so than the few minutes to do the IM. I rambled again, sorry not sorry
  9. If you can modify them to make them transparent, and you don't need them in the picture why not just remove them, or you can derender anything temporarily so it will not be there at all
  10. I was just at the new Linden Homes displays and the covenant actually states - Skyboxes are only allowed above 2000m. https://gyazo.com/7ffe793651ad3f27c477e489c358a4ed
  11. I see what you did there well played Abnor Mole These new Linden homes look delightful http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Linden Homes Preview/45/200/24
  12. Is it rigged BENTO or just rigged as in to the body so that it fits and stays put ? I think if you mean with bento tail movement it should do it with a bento tail movement animation as Wulfie said, but again it would have to be a bento tail and a bento animation for the tail area, that is my understanding of the new bento features. I know a lot of people ran around buying tails and wings when bento hit but they were not bento tails or wings so did not work how people imagined.
  13. There was one before mysti (I think) that used to let people talk on the same sim in private but open chat, my Boss sold them in his store, they were a k each, used to rez jails around people if they were misbehaving, had the higher altitude speed feather thing etc. I just liked it because it was an earpiece...It was like being secret service or Madonna 😋
  14. Oh yes Whimsy had one for years, she used it for the radar. I meant the ones that were like forty spheres with a difference of .01 between each sphere and were made transparent and then linked, and people wore them as an attachment and they used to have names that were really rude or attacking you for daring to inspect them, if you went into ctrl alt T it was like watching some sort of weird pacman attack especially if they were all dancing at a club.
  15. Usually not always, and I did not realise I did not type not ONLY worn by (sorry) fixing... why did you wear one though? I am curious, was it really to not let someone know where the sweater you were wearing was from or is there another reason I am forgetting. I know it got so bad with the theft that many stores had a policy if they were worn, the people were banned.
  16. I do not mind so much that gachas are on MP what I do find really annoying is when a creator/store put their own Gacha purchases on their store pages...MAKE AN ALT....If someone directs me to the direct link to a store and the first ten listings are not their own items that is such an epic branding fail to me, at the time of the listing it is their newest items, because made by them or not it is new. It is also unfair to those that do not really understand gachas and reselling, and may think that what they are buying is the creation of that seller, the seller they went to buy from, so then if an issue with the item, 'who you gonna call?' it most certainly won't be Ghostbusters! Which could lead to not only them being bummed out that an item is broken, not as cool as they imagined etc, it leaves a bad taste in their mouth about the sellers store because they have no idea what they purchased was not made by them. If LL would be so kind as to give creators a second store front so that they can divide such things, it would be a nice thing to do for discounted items as well keeping it to their own creations, some stores do not like their older stuff but it still sells, some just want to keep mesh as the forefront and so on, giving a creator the chance to have a second MP front without having to change perms, create alt send to alt to be relisted, would be a marvelous thing.
  17. I agree with this to a degree, if someone is not doing anything in SL but cashing out via the website on items they listed in the past but not providing any support for then it should be evident at least. I have seen some listings say "no longer providing support for this item" then it is up to the buyer...there is so much confusion still now on system layers, sculpts etc people buying system clothing and screaming that there are no appliers because they have never known a world without. People are so used to updates, redeliveries and so on, if something scripted that is tech loaded is purchased and does not work how they believed it to, you will see people asking when the next update is, but there won't be one the creator is long gone, that would have been something to know prior. I love that I can still buy Paper Couture ( I know the girls are still around ) I love that I just bought a ton of Sea Hole items in preparation for BOM lol and she has been gone for years. Whimsy and I used to always get grumpy that people leaving didn't list on Marketplace before going, we would at least have that, but yeah a little indicator of last online would be a cool tie in to MP and In world. I wish profiles did that so you don't have to stalk a group to find out if someone is missing
  18. It was not only (< edit)worn by Fashionistas usually it was worn by people wearing copybotted items so people could not see they were copybotted by wearing them, it was just an excuse that the time they didn't want someone copying their 'style' where they were usually only all wearing the most popular brands that anyone knew on site anyway, often the best way to tell was their shoes did not have ankle locks because they were botted so their ankles were always broken and the tops of their ankles of feet in shoes jutting out to the side. Was fun times had by all made the limit on bans fill up very fast. But yes there was a thing, a funny thing that was annoying to shop around if two girls wearing them were standing in front of vendors etc
  19. Yes you said Many so I was wondering where this many are, I did not expect you to say full perms at all as that contradicts the whole base of questioning, of course full perms creators include textures, that is a given, but we were talking about people that create and sell items no mod, they are not those, so I am still wondering where this many creators with regular perms creating their own content are providing textures with the items, I already covered Furries and creators that promote the concept of Mods as in selling on your own adaptation of the work so that others may enjoy it. I was just curious because as I said if there were many, I want to know more of them.
  20. this sounds like a rental payment board thing, there are a few of those already in existence, maybe search marketplace and see if you can find something along those lines, most events use them to have booths paid for etc not only store or home rentals.
  21. If you own land make sure all your payment info is up to date, also check that you have verified your email on the website. Just make sure everything on your end is up to date, and if you did spend more than usual and one of those things was something suspicious as said you are just caught in the net, but your time in SL should show all is ok, also did you log in from another location at any time? that can cause them to lock to make sure you are not being hacked.
  22. When my friend joined World of Warcraft and of course had her inventory addiction like SL and found out she had to earn for larger bags she used to run around saying she would Whore for Bags, not really and not to anyone that would think she meant it, but it made me giggle thinking of people doing favours for TP money
  23. "Many" where are you shopping, we maybe should have asked this from the get go, because I know of maybe two at a reach who include textures and one I know is furniture home-wares and I think the other is too, or there was a furry cat avatar I have that included because that Furry scene often creates for mods to be possible for the customers to go on to sell or just make more for themselves, that is a whole other thing, but if you have 'many' stores that do that I for one would love to play re-texture a thing. I myself often wish that furniture creators especially would do this, not for the whole piece as such but imagine if you could make your own cushions for a sofa, as in the decorative ones that they lay out, because while some do include a few options, it would be so neat to be crazy with that stuff. If creators just made the cushion uv a perfect 512x512 square and you could throw it on wooot so much fun, we could have Elvis cushions and Glitter and polkadots and *trails off or we will be here all week*
  24. My select was messing up so word at front and back missing. Now we have so many people able to see what someone has on and by whom, just going anywhere is like having live demos of everything, add on to that, Blogging, Photographers and Creators who credit. Someone tints, changes repeats, adds glow, whether it is good or bad, it is the item and creator responsible for it, in the person lookings eyes. Also I see less and less perms visible prior to purchase, and demos have to be no mod so it is harder to know if it is important, so gamble or walk away, that does cost the creator, if they have not made it clear. When windlight was new and fancier pics and much editing was rare, if the light made a dress that was beige look more dusky rose, readers ran to get the dusky rose, it would not exist, the customer would feel lied to, or they would buy a fatpack thinking it must be hiding, so much of this happened. Often the customer would completely forget they saw it on a blog, that lighting was at play, or they would create a scenario were the Blogger got something special. Skins also, blown out lighting creating a dewy pale skin tone that did not exist. Once an item is out of a creators hands, yes anything can happen, but without communication ( if I tint something, I point out I did in my post to communicate it is mod to the reader, if I used it etc) that all ends up in the lap of the creator. I personally am big time torn on this topic, I believe due to advancement of SL items being mod helps creators not have to fix something later...such as Auto Alphas etc, or when BoM goes live all the people who didn't legthen pants legs on system layers, because the texture worked on appliers etc. Or to be able to add something to something else, so many reasons for mod, some strong ones for not, it will always be a back and forth, there is a post on my blog about it from pre mesh. I like others just did not like that the word shady was used at all. It would still be nice if LL gave us checkboxes for the edit functions, scripting things to remove scripts, adding more prims to make something else work with another script, these are things adding more grrr to the grid and sucking the fun out of creating and shopping.
