Child & Underage Looking Avatars

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have read over the TOS a few times since joining SL, especially regarding underage individuals, and still not clear on, if there are any policies in place, child and underage looking avatars being allowed on adult sims.

I have noticed over the last few months, more and more of these child like/underage looking(See attached)avatars have been gathering on adult sims, especially Escort sims. Eventhough their profile says, they are over 18, personally, I think it is disgusting that someone claiming to be an adult, makes themselves to look underage. it's just my opinion.

I do hope that someday this type of thing will be banned.

I'm open to any thoughts.

#1 - Do we really need more threads about young avatars?

#2 - Do the avatars that you took pictures of know that you posted their picture in the forum for ridicule?

#3 - ..... Nevermind .... I am soooooo over all of this

But have you considered minding your business? Their profiles say they're above the age of majority. Nothing in them, I assume, indicates any nefarious attempt to play younger.

Here is how we said this would go right from the start.

OPEN SEASON - REPORT EVERYONE - PANIC

Paranoia is spreading, height detectors are everywhere, short women, boobs, no one feels safe so lets report everyone.

We did this, remember .. back in 2007. Will child avatars be allowed at SLB this year? Who knows. Who here even remembers the SLB that they weren't..

The community has been turned on itself, because of a hit piece, AGAIN.

FYI, we have new TOS rules that clearly forbid child avatars being on Adult sims or engaging in sexual behavior - such as sexual solicitation. Is this thread just trolling the forum regulars? People in SL can't play innocent about sexual ag* play anymore. LL can't afford to just look the other way about this stuff anymore.

IF the OP experienced this it's completely valid to ask, and even totally valid to report.
You'r shouting again... stop making yourself rediculous. It gets old.

Oh it is 'ridiculous', just like all the regions tightening up the rules and putting out height detectors and attachment scanners, because LL just painted a target on every non-normie avatars back (yes, I did use that word).

Every single avatar is now viewed though the lens of "is that a child", "could someone **** it" and "could I get banned seen near it".

We have been down this rabbit hole before. The powers that be really did outright ban child avatars from SL5B, and then under pressure wound that back to prohibiting builds representing the SL kids community.

The most ironic part. Most child avatars are played by women, often to expressly avoid unwanted male attention, because who would look at a child an think that .. oh wait, wait never mind.

I'm glad you're feeling secure and unaffected by all this.

because i don't feel any need not to comply to the new rules, my few kid/teen playing accounts never went nude, never went to adult regions and don't have any genitals painted or as add on attribute.

So unaffected by my own choice of inworld behaviour.

The rule of wearing a patch won't change anything.

When regions close their doors it's mostly not even about the rules, but just they dont want kids at all. Thats their right.

I find this all rather sad.

As someone that was carded in real life up until my mid 30s, Presenting as myself at that age would not be so different from the second image shown there,. Your world your imagination would now seem to restrict me from presenting as myself as a less than middle aged adult in a sexual situation..

and yet the new rules do NOTHING to stop it. Maybe they want child avis to be so disgusted with the whole mess that they give up and quit.

Who’s next? anime or furries?

one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, but expecting a different result 😂

I notice that while you are defending EVERYONE against Clueless Captain Oldbie Concerned Vigilante Citizen Crusaders accusing ""under age", you kept DAMN quiet when the same AR spammers accused EERYONE of being a "filthy bot" and demanded they get banned for "going to a club", and "not being at ground level" and "turning off the typing animation" and "not using voice" and "having resident as a last name".

SL thrives on Clueless Captain Oldbies reporting everything. Spamming fraudulent AR's is the main focus of the Culture in Bellicosia, and is why it's CALLED Bellicosiia in the first place. AR your neighbour for having  an "illegal front door colour".

The first photo kind of disturbs me, if it wasn't for the socks and the mouth, it would look like a 60 year old I work with. The person I know does have a very wide mouth ( a bit like Zippy).

What their profiles say is irrelevant. What they appear to be is all that matters, and the girl in the first pic needs to be ARed. I'm not sure about the girl in the second pic though.

You will be pleased to know that LL have recently announced some revisions to their policy on Child Avatars;

The full policy is here

Linden Lab Official:Clarification of policy disallowing *****

and there are some FAQ about the policy here.

Various aspects of these changes are already the subject of several threads in the General Discussion forum so, because I don't think yet another one is needed, I'm locking this one.
